This is something I like to ask you Luigi mains or players this; What are your bad habits with him and how do you try your best to overcome them? I know about his weaknesses, but I'm talking about bad habits that stands in the way of your gameplay as Luigi. I'll put my bad habits for example, below.
Bad habits
- I tend to use Jabs more than grabs because the only times I've get grabs are in reads, shield-grabs, and giving my opponent in a bad position.
- Being Defensive with him which limits my Offensive options with Luigi. Not rolling and air dodging, but sometimes camp to make my opponent to come to me, or be patient and wait.
- Not making more use of Luigi's ko options sometimes, besides Up-smash, back-air, back throw, down smash, and down-throw to tornado. I get them out of reads and punishes instead of mixing them up.
- Sometimes, being afraid to approach due to me thinking of being read or out-spaced by a disjointed move.
My best to overcome them
- Try to bait shields more, pivot-grab, and stop giving my opponent space.
- Being less defensive and more offensive and aggressive as I can.
- Try to be patient, bait, punish, mix up, and drop the ball on my opponents when they don't see it, coming.
- I need to play the close combat alittle more on disjointed chars like Marth, Lucian, and Roy, and don't let them get away with out-ranging me for free.
