What do you think of a pre-gen 1 game?

What I mean by this is that how do you feel about a game explaining/showing the events of the people before red like Professor Oak's adventure of maybe red and blue's dad. I personally think it's a great idea I'd like to know what you guys think.

Red/Blue doesn't need a prequel, it is a very straightfoward game where everything is explained appropiately and builds the lore of the series (until Gen 6 killed it, burned it, and threw the ashes to the ocean). Some things are better left for mystery, because it makes the games and its history interesting. Kanto sucks as well.

It sounds cool but Gamefreak won't do it. Pokemon isn't exactly keen on lore. There is a ROM hack that is exactly what you described though.

Like maybe base it off of the flashbacks Oak had in the Pokemon Adventures manga and his rivalry with Agatha.
It sounds cool and all. Sounds like it'd make for a good fan game.

A game explicitly set in the 1960s could work, given the popularity of retro movements.
