Rolls seem problematic in this game

Megaman has a really good dash attack for punishing rolls. You can approach with his nair too. Again it's not a matter of killing out of rolls all the time, it's about pressuring out the opponent so they don't keep doing them. Getting those small hits also helps you set up for easier kills too.

Rolls seem problematic in this game

Forgot to mention, in terms of rolling back, maybe it can be hard to punish if you're playing a slow character (because I can guarantee you Sheik has no problem with it :P) but you also have to keep in mind they can't roll back forever, sooner or later they're going to reach a ledge and put...

Rolls seem problematic in this game

I barely touched the game and I have no problems with rolls yet. I think a lot of players here are still stuck with a casual mindset and have trouble transitioning and learning to read/react and punish. Rolls were a much bigger problem in Brawl and even then they weren't way abusable at...

Best way to deal with shield&grab?

Space aerials and pokes so your opponent is far away wfter you attack, that's usually the best way to avoid being shield grabbed. Just because you're using a normal move doesn't mean you have to be at point-blank range. Try to hit from the furthest possible distance.

    "DACUS" confirmed (on Sheik)

While not quite the same as a DACUS a running up smash is also indeed possible on an unmodified 3DS. I was playing Link in the demo and found that it was possible to up smash directly out of a dash and you'd still retain the momentum from the dash.

    Smash 3DS SSB3D Disappointments Thread

Things I like: The game definitely feels faster than Brawl, one of the issues I had with Brawl was that I played casually, got destroyed by competitive players, and was still bored to TEARS because of how sluggish the game felt. Also an improvement from Brawl, it doesn't take 50 billion years...

Is a Melee like game the way to go?

People saying Melee is too fast/too hard to control, all I can say is, I've never even heard of this argument until Brawl came out. So I don't think it's a flaw of the game, I think it's definitely because Brawl is a slower game, with less gravity, delayed inputs, etc. and people are not used...

    Wondering about a pro here...

I saw the upload date and it got my hopes up...then I saw "evo 2k7" in the tags and I was sad. I think Chudat used to visit Ken and his family often, but I'm not sure if he still does.

    Official Midlife Character Crisis Topic

Erm...only one of the two mammals from outer space is actually a mammal. ...Anyway, I really dislike playing against Fox or Falco as Link. :< Shine > Link.

    ??? VS. Link

Sheik has the best matchup against Link. She has a chaingrab, better aerials, and gets in Link's face rather easily. Good recovery is just icing on the cake. Jigglypuff is the next best, because her aerials completely stuff Link's if spaced properly, and she has no problem gimping Link's...

    Falco vs Roy

Roy relies on his smashes, grabs, and the down attack on his DED's third hit to fight crouch-canceling. Your best bet is probably his grab, since it has good range, smashes are *really* slow, and your DED will probably be punished before you get the third hit against a decent opponent.

    Falco vs Roy

It might be better to look up the pros and cons in the character-specific guides. Personally, I think it's a better idea to just start with Falco and then use Roy as a secondary after you get the hang of it, because Roy is harder to use overall.

    Falco vs Roy

Roy can beat Falco, but that doesn't mean that he's a better character. Any character can beat any character if the difference in skill is really that great. Taj has beaten a bunch of top tier characters with Mewtwo, but that doesn't mean Mewtwo is top tier.
