By the way, i was reading through the first post about door fees (badge fee) and such and was just wondering, in my situation ive got a friend named chase who (like most of us) doesnt know much about tvc yet and just wanted to check it out as a competitive game, so i told him i'd ask if he were coming just to watch tvc and not actually play anything (even friendlies) would he be required to pay the door fee?

So far double elimination brackets but if there's a crazy amount of attendance then we may consider doing pools. I'll get together with you guys to figure this out the day of.

yeah, shouldnt be a hell of a problem, do you know what format the tournament will be? i suppose it depends on number of entrants, but are you looking at pools into double elim brackets, or just straight into double elim?

Perfect, so long as we can get all of this under control, organized, and posted up for everyone to be able to see in a timely fashion I am perfectly fine with that. The quicker we can post 'em up the better.

well im your man for organizing that for melee. no problem. me and menthol (michael) can work together to get all this stuff matched up with the brackets and run it in an orderly fashion.

Yes, we are going to be recording all of the games through VCR. Every single game will be recorded (just like the last Impact Clash). Since it is captured directly from the source (through VCR) we need someone to write down who was fighting who and what part of the bracket it was at. Like if it was at the Winners 1st round or Losers 2nd round or whatever so when we post it up it will all make sense online. The night of the tournament I am going to attempt to convert much of it and put it online that night while it is fresh on everyone's mind.

so would you be filming all the melee games or only the ones the community would find worthy of watching?

Actually as far as brackets go I think I have someone to do them. What I do need is someone to organize and keep track of who is fighting who in the games. I will have a VCR hooked up to each and every game so that we can record and upload all of the videos online for people to see. However, it requires the task of keeping a list of who is fighting against who during which part of the recording for it to work so after we are done we can upload them and have a label for the right people fighting each other when they are uploaded. If you are up for the job let me know. It's a very crucial job as far as the scene is concerned because many will want to see the footage from the tournaments.

Hello Impact Clash. First off, let me introduce myself. My name is wesley woodall and to the smash community im known as GAwes. Ive been running tournaments here and placing top 3 in the state since about 2003. I went to England for a year and had been out of the smash scene for a few months after i got back due to being rusty and having too much stress from school to bother with it. But i did manage to drop by the last impact clash and i must say that im really glad someone has stepped up to organize some more multi game tournies in atlanta. Ill be sure to be at this one and be competing as well and I wanted to ask you if you had someone to run the brackets here yet or not. If not, I, along with Menthol Mike are probably the best in the state at running smash tournaments so Id be more than happy to run the brackets for you for melee (brawl too if you need it) thanks a lot. hope to hear from you soon and im greatly looking forward to hitting up quarterly tournaments in ATL.
