It's typical case seen in many fantasy worlds with multiple races. All the races end up having something special that makes them remarkable, except the humans. The humans always make up for their shortcomings in technology and innovation. In this case, earth ponies are the humans.

At this state in pony lives, earth ponies haven't attained a level of technological innovation to match the others quite yet. But they will eventually. And that's when Pinkie Pie will create her own sun with SCIENCE and overthrow their dictator Celestia. Pinkie will be the savior that turns Equestria into a democracy.


Also, there's a story that shows that the Equestrian sun is already a fake created through the means of science after the real sun was blocked out and then created Celestia as a means to control it. And it also shows that all ponies were a creation made by humans who went to far with their technology. We can only hope earth ponies don't make the same mistake as their creators.

Just watched today's episode.

It had many epic moments, but the whole thing as a whole was pretty average in comparison to other episodes (especially after a spree of amazing ones like Sonic Rainboom and Suited for Success).
