Yeah, I'm not sure the details about it, I just know my grab (Lucas) was probably interrupted during teams on Dedede, and he had 999%. I checked the battle info after the match and it said he accumulated over 13 million damage.

First off, optimally you would want to DI at a 90 degree angle, it doesn't necessarily mean you want to hit that all the time unless you committed such a thing to muscle memory. Otherwise, by the time such a thought goes through your head and reaches your hands, it'll already be too late to...

How are you pushing the L/R button? I know at one point in time I wasn't curling my fingers, so not only was I awful at wavedashing, it hurt my index fingers to play extensively utilizing L canceling/wavedashing. I don't know if that could be part of your problem, or if maybe I was just an idiot...
