Everything but FoD is cute.
I like FoD though...so, if you like platforms, don't go there. If you do, don't go there. Preferance is better than potential in that situation if you aren't comfortable with one or the other. Auto-have-trouble or do something your familiar with. :p

M2k said a really good argument sayin that spacies **** on BF cuz of their jump height and their complete control of the stage. And after watching PP and Zhu and whoeverthe**** **** on that stage and after being ***** on that stage i just dont trust it anymore. I like YS better than BF vs spacies but im pretty sure thats me.

idk what the **** is wrong with me.

i do just as well in friendlies vs good people (who admitedly probably arent giving 100% but are far from sandbagging) than i do against mediocre people in pools.

i get nervous and actually stop thinking.
i wouldnt be surprised if i stop breathing at times, i get that stressed.

I have a problem too.

When I play for others, I do great. Whether it's for taking out the strong points of my opposing teams in crew battles or holding the fort down and dominating throughout doubles, I seem to do well.

Then when I play for myself, singles, MMs, friendlies, whatever, I start to lulz around because I start to have way too much fun. I don't take it seriously if it's not for others because it's too fun to screw around and I don't have to worry about disapointing others. Then people get mad at me for lulzing AFTER cause they see me **** the same people I barely lose to in bracket in crews later and don't know why I do that. (go top 3 in crew picks and bottom 3 in bracket EVERY time, ****ed up eh?)

PROBLEM!!!
GAME = TOO FUN

****ing love this game.

Opposite of roneblastorz. :(

Fusion would be handy with 'solutions' to these things.

Having finally conquered this issue myself, the only advice I have is keep playing. It's extremely frustrating; I've nearly quit multiple times out of sheer nerd-rage. You have to be so comfortable with your character that you can do everything on command, with extreme accuracy, and execute it fast enough and thought-less enough that you can do it in reaction to your opponent, for instance, if they roll as you approach them, are you quick enough to turn around and grab them, even if you weren't expecting it?

i have a problem with getting the right mindset when i play worse players, its really dumb. at first i think "i wont even have to try cuz this guy sucks and ill prolly 3 stock him" and then he starts doing damage and i get nervous and scared to lose.
the reason i get nervous when i start losing to a bad player is because i hate losing to bad players. but since i dont mind losing to good players as much i dont give myself a hard time if i do and i dont get nervous as a result. i also get less motivated to win when i play a bad player vs a good player because winning against a bad player isnt really an achievement (but winning to a good player is)

Uthrow chaingrabbing spacies at like 75% until 100% and then fsmashing them is quite possibly the funniest thing ever to do as Falcon. I don't see why they try to DI behind Falcon when it happens, I got dat pivot grab on LOCK(except against Kels, I sandbagged on a lot of things I usually have down consistently)

One thing I want to ask though, would someone please provide some typical scenarios where you would buffer ANYTHING? This weekend I went to a tourney and like everyone emphasized how important buffering is and I literally never do it.

i know it makes me want to quit losing to people who i know i SHOULD beat.
what's your next weekend look like?
I think I'll have a decent amount of free time if you want to come over for some serious training. I play everybody at least decently (I have far more than just a pocket marth)
I feel that I understand the game fairly well and I analyze people's styles pretty efficiently. I'll tell you in match your mistakes if you so chose

buffering is 1 frame from optimal speed, so if you want to be close to perfect speed then u buffer whatever u do whether its rolls or buffer jumping (out of shield)

sometimes being 2-3 frames slower can get you grabbed or killed, which is why i think its important that you buffer in sticky, borderline situations

each time you barely get grabbed, you could possibly have rolled/jumped away or spotdodged (don't do it with falcon)

everybody, including me, used to never do it but theres no reason not to optimize your game

all of these tiny parts of improving your game definitely stacks together

i still have a lot to learn about this game, getting my butt handed to me to one of the people i semi trained is not the greatest feeling lol

--
@ roneblaster, mindset is absolutely crucial. it won't win you the game but having a 'bad' one pretty much spells defeat. plenty of people, myself included get frustrated in tournament after a mistake and lose thinking they should have won

it's something i'm working on myself, but you should definitely never fear your opponent no matter how good he is supposed to be (if you think you are supposed to lose you will), but on the flipside you should never fear losing to someone who you know is worse to you. i've seen this a lot while i was getting better in my region but i'm starting to experience it myself as other people get better too.

It's not so much the thought that you're gonna lose, it's the mindset where you think you're good, then you start to get combo'd, or you get hit by a stupid move that you would normally not get hit by which puts you in a bad mindset, and then you start to freak out and do the wrong thing and THEN you lose. lol.

cept that i dont cuz youre better then me lol

thanks Mike. Pretty baseless claim because you (presumably) know little about me, but I'll take it.
well i based it off the fact that youre so willing to learn a new player stuff like that. since it helps new players improve it moves the community forward.

i dont think im gonna lose. its just im not thinking @ all, and i if do think about something its usually me focusing on something i did wrong and beating myself up about it. its less about that and more about i dont think @ all

Rone: It's a tough thing to get out of for sure. You know how habbits are easily punished? Well it's a habbit that noobs can punish. lol
Next time you find yourself doing that, say out loud "I'm putting on mister try hard" and start ****** them. Just go all out and focus. If you **** up, say it again or something. Anything 'set in stone' is better than 'thinking about it' in terms of refocussing. Keep changing what you're doing, improvement never comes if you don't change anything to improve it.
Just a thought. :D

Mike: It's really a sad thing that you think more people aren't willing to help others. I've driven my small community here to be extremely tight with each other, and it grows faster than any other community I know of.
It's unfortunately often forgotten or unknown that in fact 'teaching others is the best way to improve yourself' and that's not even the main purpose for teaching others. It's just a form of intelligence that develops through it which is rarely applied by 'selfish' players/people.
Keep that in mind. Toma and about 50 others I could list simply are smart enough to understand that we're all in this together, and we should be treating it that way.
You could very well be too if you apply that yourself, I wouldn't know. :p

Edit: Uair is my favorite move. I'm still not a fan of Nair. All other aerials are funner.

LOL
