look at 16.

EDIT: oh snap, I got beaten to the punch.

Just ctl f for something important to your tip when you want to suggest it and you'll probably find it if it's there.

To build on what c3gill said about an free up smash as soon as your oppoent breaks free...this works at high percentages and there are other attacks you can do while your opponent is frozen.
Which leads to the next trick

PK Feeze projectile follow ups:
At low percentages, when the oppoent lands on the stage while frozen you can use PK fire and they will instantly break free and get hurt by the Pk fire(I call this PK Cold Fire)...you can also use PKT and loop it around them while their frozen causing alot of damage( I call this PK Electric Ice). This trick is situational and just looks really "cool".

Did Levitas just say 'oh snap'?

+5
points.

Also, yeah, cj, I love using the Electric Ice one. If they're close enough, using nair on a frozen opponent is strangely satisfying.

What about the PKT1 while your on the ledge?

The one where you drop the ledge, loop a PKT1 onto the stage just in front of you to knock an opponent away, then when it hits the ground you regrab the edge (easier with tap jump on as you will jump a fraction before your pkt comes out).

I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Good thread btw :)

The PKT Stall? We're just repeating each other. :(
Come on, guys.

I blame Levitas for an unorganized list.

Oh yea I forgot about using nair...I use that one too...its my favorite thing to do while my oponent is frozen. I called it PK Frozen Storm

I don't mind writing up an index and organizing it that way. In fact, I'll do that tomorrow.

Along with the non-AC nair combos. I'll do that, too.

And collect hitstun data for irsic on lucas's dash attack.

I guess I have stuff to do tomorrow...

The Amazing PSI Magnet and its epic utility (think PSI Magnet is just to get health? think again!)

  • Lucas' PSI Magnet instantly reduces "gravity" momemtum- It slows your fall, Similar to Fox's reflector. Slow Fall!
  • It doesnt just absorb attacks- it magnifies them. We get health back at a 2:1 ratio to how much is dealt out.
  • Use it as an attack! It has a surprising amount of horizontal knockback.
  • Ever heard of Magnet Pulling? yeaaaah.
  • Stall on the edge with it- we call it livin on the edge! (ok bad Aerosmith reference:(). Slightly jump up from the edge, PSI Magnet, and catch the ledge again. Great if someone decides to shoot something at you as you get up.
  • If you absorb something, it can be ended without lag.
  • It can be B-reversed. Example- When used with a Full Hop PK Fire, you can Magnet Pull in either direction. Useful for some crazy mindgames, as a spacing tool, or as a surprise attack.

edit- straked, i was just listing things that are awesome about all uses of the magnet, even if they have been previously mentioned. I would suggest Levitas do a little copy-paste action and throw this post with some other stuff.

Seriously?
I'm gonna have to reread the OP.

dthrow > utilt is a combo. dthrow > usmash is a pulse check on your opponent.

Normal edgehogging on those guys is easier, but I'll definitely add that because you're absolutely right.

Fair -> dtilt lock

At mid percentages fair can knock an opponent on their back and if you keep your momentum going you can land right with them and begin a dtilt lock.

I'll do some research on a middle weight character (Mario) at what percentages this is feasable.

Also, dtilt locking off of ceilings -

On Luigi's Mansion you can grab just about any character at around 10-30% and dthrow them and have them land on their backs right near you, in which you can initiate a dtilt lock. This also works with utilt, but is much easier teched and DI'd.

Irsic, I'll add both of those.

FK7, I'll link the first post to that if it's complete (which it looks to be at first glance)

are you talking about thundersliding? running off the edge and immediatly using PKT?
its on number 6
Oops, didn't see that.

Did you mention the tether/attack?

You can also PK Thunder and recover at an acute angle to a platform. In otherwards, you can be beneath a platform, come out from under it with PK Thunder, and successfully recover.

How about PSI controlling horizontal knockback, as well as vertical fastfall?

F-Smash projectile block?

The wonders of Pummeling in rhythm?

B-Air Sweetspot spike?

Just thinking of a few of the top of my head.

Awesome list Levitas!!!

A few suggestions, why not do stage related things? Like how Lucas can recover obscene amounts of health on Corneria (if it's legal)? Just hop down there when the main gun is charging, throw out PSI magnet, and recover, and you can zap jump to get back on the ship, or use your second jump and PKT2 onto the ledge or the main gun. I usually go for the main gun, it's safer, in the case of your opponent trying to edgeguard you. From the main gun, you only need your two jumps to get back on the ship. Also, you can jump on top of an Arwing/Wolfen and keep PSI magnet out. It's risky, but you can recover a lot.

Or, on Luigi's Mansion, where it's legal, you can discuss dtilt lock setups from uptilt and downthrow and moves like that.

It's a possibility, but we'd have to make a section dedicated to stages.
I could actually do that myself since I have 2nd post, with his permission of course.

straked, let me handle the list. I am perfectly fine with including stage related tricks, so I'll add the corneria thing (though it's generally not a legal stage, lol)

I guess the next thing on my list is to index this thing.

yes yes yes
and tetherattack is a super secret move that only members of the "Secret Snake Club" aka Omelet Backroom know about.

ToxiCrow is my hero. No joke.

Oh yeah, is that thing where you throw an item to double jump really high on the list yet? I forget the mechanics, but someone mentioned it a while back...

(Zap) Item Jump? its basically the same as a Zap Jump, but requires an item.... which arent terribly common in the game....

It should probably be a sidenote to the ZJ, rather than an note by itself, imo.

Yes, but when you use it with an item, you don't suffer from PKF lag.

So..Peach and Diddy Kong, basically.

Yar, I think he means Halberd. :metaknight:

A'ight, how 'bout dis. Using the statues in Castle Siege/Capsules in Brinstar to extend the duration of nair/down smash/up smash, etc. I do this pretty often...

no i mean corneria.... try it and you'll die...

at least with ness you'll die

EDIT: IM WRONG!

apparently i've always thought you could just stand on the actual gun and just wait for the lasers with PsiM up... you can't do that because it hits you before it shoots the lasers... ugh im stupid :lick:
