Mono-Purple, eh?

Anyways, I think some of the useless in-battle abilities should get some use. For example, Illuminate could improve the user's accuracy, while Stench could act as an ability form of King's Rock, causing a chance to make the opponent flinch after attacking you. Pickup could steal an opponent's item if they switch / U-Turn, while Run Away provides perfect escape (bypassing Pursuit). Thoughts?

Graphoak seems to be a little fast for something that has roots in the ground. I feel like some of that Speed would be better off in its Defenses, but that's just me. Nice picture. :)

All of those abilities should've had in-battle effects in the first place.

I've always thought that Pick-up should be able to find the hold item of wild pokemon when you faint them (provided they had a hold item at the end of the battle)

I was thinking that was my one flaw. It's rooted to the ground, but has 95 Base Speed? wtf
Maybe it got uprooted and now uses its many vines to run quickly. I should start doing pokedex entries.
Pokedex can give personality to a Pokemon, which isn't a bad thing. :bee: Hope to see more from you soon.

Time to go again.

Ryumora
Typing: Fire / Dragon
Ability: Levitate

HP - 90
Atk - 50
Def - 100
Sp Atk - 122
Sp Def - 108
Spd - 110

Offensive movepool includes: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Overheat, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Claw, Fire Fang, Dragon Rush, Wing Attack, Fly, Earthquake, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Hydro Pump, Dragonbreath, Crush Claw, Shadow Claw, Earth Power

Support movepool includes: Dragon Dance, Roost, Will-o-Wisp, Thunder Wave, Safeguard, Stealth Rock, Calm Mind

Overview: Ryumora has a wonderful typing. Fire / Dragon with Levitate provides only two weaknesses to Rock- and Dragon-types, while resisting Grass-, Steel-, Bug-, Fire-types and being immune to Ground-types. The Stealth Rock weaknesses limits the amount of times it can switch-in, but it's something which can be worked around.
Offensively, Fire / Dragon connects supereffectively against Bug-, Grass-, Steel-, Dragon-, and Ice-types. Getting STAB against Steel-types is something all Dragon-types dream of doing. Fire-STAB also hits Ice-types supereffectively, so Weavile and Mamoswine should think twice before switching in.

Statwise, Ryumori is no slouch. A paltry base 50 Attack is basically always overlooked in favor of it's healthy base 122 Special Attack stat. Coupled with 110 Speed Ryumori can be a threat if not handled properly. A vast movepool gives many selections for it. 90 / 100 / 108 defenses are not shabby at all, either. Possessing Levitate and part Dragon-type means it can come in with relative ease and start gaining offensive momentum or stat-up with Calm Mind.

Example Sets

Ryumori @ Choice Scarf
Levitate / Modest
4 HP / 252 Sp Atk / 252 Spd
~ Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse
~ Flamethrower / Fire Blast
~ Earth Power
~ Hydro Pump

Ryumori @ Life Orb
Levitate / Modest
4 HP / 252 Sp Atk / 252 Spd
~ Flamethrower
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Roost
~ Earth Power / Hydro Pump

Ryumori @ Leftovers
Levitate / Calm
252 HP / 200 Def / 40 Sp Atk / 16 Sp Def
~ Thunder Wave
~ Dragon Pulse / Earth Power
~ Substitute / Stealth Rock
~ Roost

You HAVE to tone down the Defenses. If you don't that thing is Uber EASY.

Unless you WANT it to be Uber... that is.

You realize that basically no Uber has been made yet, right? Or at least none that I can remember. Thus, I wouldn't honestly mind seeing this thing sitting in Ubers. It'd be fun. :3

Granted, I may be biased considering I've been studying the Ubers metagame for a bit and have seriously been considering trying it out. But meh.

EDIT: And even if it didn't end up in Ubers, this thing would certainly be used in Ubers. It basically screams for Groudon's beams of sunlight to shine upon its blessed head.

Writer, I'd be willing to learn Ubers from you or whatnot.

I see Calm Mind sets being to most devastating on Ryumori. Choice Specs / Scarf also seem pretty deadly when predicting correctly. Heheh.

An Uber WAS made beforehand, just to say.
And two ain't bad either.

It's going to sound weird, but if this stayed OU (highly unlikely) there's also some viability in a DD set (assuming it gets it, which it might not). It'd function a lot like the odd DDLatios in Ubers, where you really just use the DD for the speed boost and then fire off powerful special attacks like you normally would, but with the speed to back up your almost guaranteed sweep. The reason why I said OU only (as opposed to Ubers) is obviously because of Latios, who has a higher special attack, the same speed, and access to Soul Dew for an even scarier boost. In OU though, basically the only thing that could stop it after a DD is Blissey. Everything else would fall to either dual STAB or Earth Power.

I do agree though, a simple CM set would be deadly. I'd imagine it'd work like Latias, but with more power.

I actually haven't played Ubers yet, so learning it from me probably wouldn't be the best idea. <.< Plus everyone's advice tends to be 'just build a team of powerful guys, play it, and figure it out for yourself'. The tier is supposedly a lot quicker to catch on to, but you're probably going to get 5-0'd and 6-0'd quite a bit beforehand. And even after you figure it out you'll still get 5-0'd and 6-0'd a lot, due to the nature of the tier (EXTREMELY offensive, anything can sweep at a moment's notice, etc.). You might as well just join the ladder and see where you get, which is probably what I'll do once I get a team together.

Brine is pretty much exclusive to water types (the only one who isn't at least part water is Hariyama...and Lugia, but he's like, a quarter water-type) and I can't really see it using a "salty" move...

But you are right on Waterfall. *adds*

EDIT: And actually, Surf would fit too, since moose are pretty good at swimming. *adds too*

What would be two good typings for rock that either follow the Pseudo-rules, or are simply good with rock again?

(is designing the pseudo-dino-duo)

Those 4 follow the commonly seen fossil Pokemon.

Rock / Dragon

Those 2 might be interesting to try out.

I came up with this Pokemon in 1st period today and came up with an idea of a warrior that's equipment changes his stats. I couldn't decide on the typing though. I always wanted to do a mono-type, just because it seems like everyone's doing never done before dual-typing. But I noticed his move pool is really "meh" as pure steel. I guess it just comes to his background and which Pokedex entry you guys think is coolest.

The thing with Azuma is the defense boost is not significant enough to outmatch losing Leftovers.

But a Metal Sound defensive version seems like it could work.

checked out these:

Rock/Dragon:

Super Effected:
Ice , Fighting , Ground , Dragon , Steel

Resist:
Normal , Fire (1/4) , Electric , Poison , Flying

so this type would definatley not be that defensive...

Rock/Fighting:

Super Effected:
Water , Grass , Fighting , Ground , Psychic , Steel

Resist:
Normal , Fire , Poison , Bug , Rock , Dark

has 2 more resists, but 1 more weakness...

hmn, on the other hand the offensive power of both of these are pretty good...

im thinking Rock/Fight for the Rex, and Rock/Dragon for the Bronto?

Rock / Fighting wouldn't make much sense for a Tyranosaur either, since Tyranosaurs have laughable arms. A Rock / Fighting dino would have to rely on Earthquake, Stone Edge, and headbutting / kicking moves.

Rock / Fire would be the more interesting choice. Rock Head with say, Flare Blitz.

Or it could pull a Hitmonlee on its arms and make them extendable. And in all honesty, I think that'd be much more Pokemon-like anyway. I'd definitely train a Tyrannosaurus Rex if its arms were extendable.

Maybe it doesn't have to be a Tyrannosaurus. Why not something like this? It's got much more usable arms, and probably doesn't resemble anything else done so far. If we went that way it could very well be Fighting type.

Ahh, Spinosaurus. That would be a really cool fit.

JOE! should base it off of that, haha.

-Terywj
Jurassic Park ftw.

So, to clarify, we're going to have two fossils - one Rock/Grass type based on a Brontosaurus, and either a Rock/Fighting Spinosaurus or Tyrannosaurus? Epic stuf.

EVERYTHING THAT’S EVER HAPPENED EVER

This is a documentation of all Pokemon, new moves/abilities/items, and region-related topics posted thus far in this thread. It is meant to show where we are in the process, how far we have to go, and what we should do next. Seeing as the OP has been out of commission for a while, I thought I might as well do this now.

I will update this post after I am 10 Pokemon behind what has been posted in the thread (where each stage of a Pokemon counts as 1 Pokemon), and/or every Saturday (whichever comes first).

POKEMON

This section contains links to all the Pokemon created in this thread, the people who made them, and various methods of displaying this information. A statistics section is included at the end to give a factual report of where we are in the process.

------------------------

1. Numerical Order List

This is an ordering of all the undisputed* Pokemon created thus far in National Dex order. This is not the set order; I simply put them where I felt they belonged, in relation to where other generations put Pokemon similar to ours (and thus, suggestions for more appropriate placements are welcome). For Pokemon with evolutionary relatives in this Pokedex, a bracket will be placed in front of the first stage of the Pokemon and behind the last stage. Pokemon with more than one evolutionary path will have two brackets around both paths (i.e. (Eevee, (Flareon), (Jolteon)). Pokemon that are missing vital information or are not Pokemon that would be found in the Pokedex are placed at the end under "Not Used". A total of all Pokemon created thus far (not including Disputed and Not Used Pokemon) is included at the very end.

Pokemon are in no particular order, but evolved Pokemon in the same type section are in brackets, in the order that they evolve.

4. Statistics

This is a collection of data drawn from all of the Pokemon submitted thus far. It is meant to compare what has been created in this thread thus far with what the Pokemon games has created. Disputed Pokemon are included; Not Used Pokemon are not.

[collapse=]a) Comparison of Type Totals

This is a comparison between the total number of types used in our Pokemon compared to the average number of types used in all Pokemon games. The data of the average number of types from all Pokemon games was taken from the OP; therefore, this data includes both mono-and dual-type Pokemon, with each use of the type counting towards the total (i.e., Extermite, a Bug/Fire, would count as both a Bug-type and a Fire-type in this data).

Format:
(Type)(Number of Pokemon we have made of that type)-(Type)(Average number of Pokemon of that type in all Pokemon games)=(Difference between our total and their average, Green* indicating we have more than the average, Red indicating we have less than the average, Yellow meaning we are equal)

Bug(10)-Bug(12)=2**

Dark(13)-Dark(6)=7***

Dragon(7)-Dragon(5)=2

Electric(5)-Electric(7)=2

Fighting(9)-Fighting(6)=3

Fire(20)-Fire(8)=12

Psychic(8)-Psychic(13)=5

Rock(5)-Rock(9)=4

Steel(9)-Steel(7)=2

Water(10)-Water(23)=13****

b) Comparison of Stages and Legendaries

This is a comparison between the number of Pokemon involved in each kind of stage and the number of legendaries we have to the average number that the Pokemon games have. Each Pokemon in the stage counts towards the total (i.e., Whismur, Loudred, and Exploud, in total, count as 3 towards the total number of 3-Stage Pokemon we have). Pokemon that are (pre-)evolutions of Pokemon in other generations are counted towards what kind of stage the current family is now (i.e., Ocelord counts as a 3-Stage Pokemon and not as a 1-Stage, since it forms a 3-Stage evolution chain with Goldeen and Seaking).

Format:
(Stage)(Number of Pokemon we have of that Stage)-(Stage)(Average number of Pokemon of that stage in all Pokemon games)=(Difference between our total and their average, Green indicating we have more than the average, Red indicating we have less than the average, Yellow meaning we are equal)

3-Stage(33)-3-Stage(54)=21

2-Stage(29)-2-Stage(72)=43

1-Stage(29)-1-Stage(14)=15*****

Legendary(0)-Legendary(11)=11[/collapse]

ABILITIES/MOVES/ITEMS

This is a list of all moves, abilities, and items created by us in this thread. The main purpose of this section is to inform others of what has already been done, so they can avoid repeating the same abilities/moves/items, and also have the option of using the abilities/moves/items we've already made for their own Pokemon.

------------------------

1. Abilities

This is a list of all abilities made thus far, including their descriptions and the Pokemon who have them, organized into alphabetical order. This will likely need to be updated, as not all of the abilities are explained enough, and may need balancing. Note that I do not change the wording of what the creator of the ability originally said, but I do twist it around in order to fit my format.

Format:
(Ability Name): (Description of its function)
Additional Notes: (...notes)
Users: (Pokemon who have this ability)
[collapse=]Blood Pressure: After each attempt at using a move, the Pokemon with this ability loses 1/4 of its total HP.
Additional Notes: Missing on an attack, being hurt by confusion, being immobilized by love, being unable to use a move because of Torment, Taunt or Imprison, Struggling, each of the turns of a two-turn move like Dive/Hyper Beam, attacking while the opponent is Protecting/Detecting, certain moves such as Sleep Talk/U-Turn, and flinching count as attempts. Being fast asleep, being frozen, and being fully paralyzed do not.
Users: Vigorage

Blood Siphon: Damaging an opponent with a Bug-type attack raises this Pokemon's Attack by 1 stage.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Modeath

Dig-In: Negates moves that force switching out.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Zongera

Gooey Remains: When this Pokemon is KO'd, it leaves behind level 2 Toxic Spikes.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Voxslosion

Marksman: Ignores the foe's evasion modifiers. In addition, this ability increases the accuracy of this Pokemon's moves by 10%.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Aut'thear

Mirror Image: Copies the opposing Pokemon's appearance (sprite, animations, etc), cry, and (original) name permanently for the rest of the battle, even if this Pokemon is switched out.
Additional Notes: This ability activates before Imiguise is sent on to the field, so your opponent does not see the original Imiguise sprite. In a case where both of the previous Pokemon were knocked out, and Imiguise is the first to be sent out, it will copy the Pokemon the opponent is about to send out even though it is not on the field yet. In the case of a Double Battle, this ability will copy the last of the opponent's Pokemon to be sent out.
Users: Imiguise

Mountaineer: Avoids all Rock-type attacks/ hazards when switching in.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Sleeopard

Overexert: If an attack used by this Pokemon has Base Power greater than or equal to 100, the damage dealt is increased by 30%. This Pokemon then takes recoil damage equal to 1/10 of its max HP, rounded down to the nearest integer.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Aut'thear

Rock Mosaic: Absorbs Rock moves and adds to Defense.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Wyverishi

Scavenger:When a Pokemon with this ability causes an opponent’s Pokemon to faint by using a damaging move, it gains 1/4th of its total HP.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Fyunizzard

Terrorize: Lowers the Special Attack of all enemies when this Pokemon enters battle.
Additional Notes: N/A
Users: Kommodon[/collapse]

CONCERNS

This is a list of all the concerns that I (and everyone involved with the project should) have about certain aspects of the project/where it's going/problems that we need to deal with. They are listed first by individual problems I have with certain people and/or their submissions, organized into alphabetical order by name, and then on more general concerns with things such as region/disputes that affect a lot of people.

[collapse=]flyinfilipino:

-What do you want me to do with your Rotom formes? They can't fit in the Pokedex part of the Dex, and they technically don't count as Pokemon, so the only place I can see them staying is in the Not Used section, but not contributing to our Not Used total. I'm not sure what else we could do with them.

IC3R:

-Did you submit the wyverns as an actual submission, or were you just posting them? If not, then I can remove one of our disputes and we'll use Tery's warrior quad as our trio.
-Are you fine with having two Hummingbirds (your Hummonsoku and flyin's Shockum) in the Dex?
-Your Ancient Leek item needs a location as to where it can be found. Also, can it only be held by Farfetch'd/Aut'thaer? I got confused since it says "it increases the chance of the holder...", and I didn't know if that effect only applied to Farfetch'd/Aut'thaer.

JOE!:

-Get that Vexxor done. D: And make its pre-evos too, to complete it.
-I also need additional information on your move Chomp, specifically PP, accuracy, and possibly a description (i.e. "The user crushes its foe between its large teeth.").
-You should probably edit out the Pokemon/Magma Pool in the OP, since this post covers it, and people might get confused and think that that's all we have.

Megalomaniac:

-Decide on a type for Asuma! >:(
-Are the Worn Shield/Sharp Spear items exclusive to Asuma? I also need information on where they can be found, and any other aspects of them they might have (if any).

Terywj:

-Making pre-evos for your old Pokemon would not only fill up Dex space, but would also get rid of the abundant non-evolving Pokemon we have (which you've created a lot of). I would REALLY suggest doing that before starting on more Pokemon.
-You're also missing descriptions on a lot of your moves, but they're optional and most of your moves have a secondary effect, so I can ignore it if you want. Although adding descriptions gives a nice aesthetic appeal. :p

Ultimario:

-Edit your Enigmetal sprite into the post where you gave its stats, because right now I'm using two links for one Pokemon, and it looks really dumb and confusing.

In General:

- NO MORE FIRE-TYPES/NON-EVOLVING POKEMON! >:( We're overflowing with them, and we'll likely have to cut some of the ones we have already, so if you even THINK about making a non-evolving Fire-type, I will be most displeased. :( Hold off on the Dark-types too, we're already 7 above the norm.

-Disputes! No one's really talked about them, so it looks like I'll have to bring them up. >.< The dispute with the least amount of conflicts is Detropod vs Terropede, both in competition for the crappy bug position. I guess a vote would be most fair? Or a mutual agreement between the creators? The wyverns vs warriors dispute is also quite easy to solve by voting, unless IC3R wasn't actually submitting them. And our Fire-starter? I know people have been saying we decided on Kittorch, but I want to make sure that everyone is OK with this decision (for the record, I no longer care). The last dispute I'll leave to the parties involved, since it isn't such a major decision that it should be outside the control of the creators.

-A lot of people (both active and inactive) have made Abilities/Moves/Items with incomplete information. If you see anything with a "???" next to a certain part of its format (i.e. its Description, Type, PP, etc), and you have an idea that can work for it, suggest it here and I'll make the changes. If the person who originally created it sees someone else has added something they didn't want to their Ability/Move/Item, they can ask to change it to something they desire. Though I would prefer if the person who actually made it gave the the information they want straight away so we don't have to deal with that, but in some scenarios, it can't be avoided (i.e. inactive people who made Abilities/Moves/Items...)

-We need more 2-stage Pokemon and Water/Poison/Ground Pokemon. D: The pair I have in the works (Sandslash/Arbok parallels) remedies both problems by a little bit, but I can only do so much.

-We also need more "pairs", as in stuff like Clefable/Wigglytuff or Shiftry/Ludicolo. We're getting a lot of individual Pokemon, but not enough Pokemon that relate to each other. Use unused types (and mono-types) to remedy two problems in one![/collapse]
If you see any errors, whether they're spelling, formatting, broken/incorrect links, improper placements of things, things I've missed, or just general tips to make this thing look better, please don't hold back.

Thanks Sir Bedevere for that awesome post. Now we can finally see where we're at here. Quick comment: lol Fire-types!

I'll work on the Tarzier evolutionary line (so I can be first on the submissions list) some more.

Wow. Sir Bedevere, that was truly amazing. Great job compiling that post.

I'll probably go back and add the pre-evolutions to most (read: all) of my submitted Pokemon.

That way I can beat Sir B. in submissions.
