Bleh, I'd like to keep contributing but I've been busy with art requests from someone else. It's kind of draining and not that fun. :p I hope to have something to present soon.

Chill, dude, chill. Take that whichever way you will. :)

Yosh, I'm on teh list. Yay! Hedgeree and Porcuprine are satiated.

Writer must be really putting some effort into that pseudo. It's been what, a week since he announced it? And WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE OTHER TWO FOSSILS?!

along with this, the pseudo fossils got me thinking: Why not add a new feature to our region?

Prehistoric Zone.

essentially our safari zone/etc, a time machine sends a player back in time to where they can catch certain pokemon. THis way we can even have non-fossil pokemon that appear there that cant be found elsewhere!

To be quite honest, not really. I've had a friend over this entire week, and he's been keeping me moderately busy during his stay. Plus, my thinking process can sometimes take weeks on end before I figure out exactly what it is I want to do. Once I figure it out though, it's usually great. Rest assured. It's just the getting there part that's the issue.

I present to you, a legendary circle of the Smashboards-Dex.

[Train of Thought] - I wanted these guys to be unique, and I did so in different ways. First off, all 4 possess two abilities, and none of which are shared between the others. Secondly, I based them off of fighters, who originated as statues in different environment and came to being / power after events regarding their certain element. Their movepools are also very open, as you might have expected, being Uber-tier Pokemon. I also didn't really create their movepool well, considering the amount of "Other" moves I added. But for now I'll just let the massive text do all the talking.

The Four Legendary Warriors

In the ancient times, four statues of a warrior Ansor were created as monuments to his power. These were scattered in four different locations. Previously stationary and lifeless, these came into being when nature enfused them with power, giving them life. These creatures then honed their own specific battling technique, and act as guardians of their domains

I tried my best make these Pokemon extremely good but yet have a flawless design at the same time.

The names are a bit on the iffy side, but can easily be rennovated and changed. I do like all of them more the most part.

Full set analysis post coming at a later time.

Rexxor is completely legit. You've got nothing to worry about Joe.

Your prehistory concept is pretty cool too.

I'm for all fossils in one place. But what other pokes would be there?

But what other pokes would be there?
Bugs.

Going along with JOE!'s idea for a prehistoric zone, I've had the idea that the focus of our gen could be exactly that; ancient, prehistoric Pokemon. The best thing about it is is that we barely (if at all) have to change the ideas we've come up with; the forest fits the Jurassic idea, bugs are often associated with dinosaurs (bug in the amber, etc), and we already have a desert-like region where we could find fossils/ancient Pokemon (or have our time-machine Safari Park, as JOE! suggests, to take us back to the time when the land was once fertile). It's an original concept yet to be done in Pokemon, opens up a lot of Pokemon opportunities, and gives plenty of options for our gen's evil team (want to screw up the past, collect the powerful ancient Pokemon, maybe a Jurassic-Park-esque scenario, etc).

Sorry I can't comment on other things/update right now, just popping in as I'm pretty busy.

Modern day pokes could be there, that would make sense

for example there wouldnt be miltanks running around...but most grass types, any pokes that are lizard/dino like, etc

It'd obviously have to be revised and such, but that was my idea in the Next Gen thread. I just thought it was funny that we were talking about a more fossil-themed game, which is what my idea from before was going for. Look it over and such and tell me if you like it. We don't have to use it obviously, but it can always be a way to get more ideas flowing.

Also, I think I finally struck what I needed for my pseudo-legendary, so as long as I have the time in the next few days it should be coming soon. Be prepared!

EDIT: I haven't gotten a chance to thoroughly look at the past few submissions, but from a first glance I like them! :) I'll read them more in-depth when I have a chance and see if there's anything I see wrong.

I just had an interesting idea for an event:

Since all the games so far have had some kind of cruise-type boat, what if there was a special ticket given away that allowed the boat to take you to a special preserve where you could catch starters in the wild. Obviously there would have to be limitations like only being allowed to catch one of each different chain and only being allowed to visit the preserve once. There could even be a Safari Zone/Great Marsh restriction of a "time limit" or number of pokeballs.

Just a thought since every gen has some special event-only stuff.

i dunno about that, as starters are generally considered very special...

as for Kupo: Veloxxor is a velociraptor pokemon (evolves to Rexxor), and he has big feathers that become Rexxor's plating. :p

as for the idea, instead of reviving pokes, they take the Time Machine from GSC and use it to actually go back to prehistoric times, where you can find Dimixxor and (your Pseudo's 1st form) and whatever the bronto would be, along with others :D

I've been busy lately, but I think I've caught up with everything so far.

@Terywj's legendary warriors: Cool ideas with an interesting background story (which could totally fit the current region, though we lack an active volcano). I wish there was more description of what the actual Pokemon looked like, though. Other than that, I trust you made them as uber as can be! :bee:

@JOE!'s Rexxor: First of all, I'll be very honest and say he looks a lot like a Digimon with the armor and all. Kind of unnatural, looks like he'd be a _____dramon. But other than that, he looks cool and is well sketched out so far. Kudos for getting work done!

I also like your Prehistoric Zone idea. It could actually totally fit in the curent region as well. There's a lot of boring area around Pestle Town/Mace Town, and it would make the early portion of the quest have some sort of significance later in the quest. :bee: There could be time-travel shenanigans or a special location around there where these prehistoric Pokemon still exist, a la Jurassic Park.

@Joe, I love your idea for the Rexor and the prehistoric zone concept. It really reminds me of something from Metroid Prime.
That's pretty awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product. :)

Terywj's ideas are also neat. Drawings would be a great addition, too.

MEGAPOST (which is what I'll be calling it from now on) has been updated!

First, one point of notice is I've changed when I update the MEGAPOST from 5 Pokemon/once a week to 10 Pokemon/every Saturday. This is because 10 Pokemon a week is a harder goal to reach (and thus promotes more submissions :p) and I am almost always free on Saturdays, meaning I have the time to update, whereas the random factor of once a week after each update could put me on a bad day, so it's better to be consistent.

Aside from that (and all the Pokemon/moves/items I added), I didn't change much, aside from little things like some more comments on some things and giving everyone in the Top Contributor section their own colour (so I wouldn't have to change it every time >.>). The biggest additions were the "updating" (there was nothing to update lol) of the Region section, which is basically just a link dump for people who need to catch up, and the Concerns section, which is just things that I feel need cleared up. I HIGHLY suggest you go and read the new section over, because some concerns address certain people in this thread, and the General concerns are for everyone.

Alright. I'll try to work on getting drawings for each Uber. But as I've stated in the past, my artistic skills rival Deoxys-A's defenses, so bear with me if they end up looking like Zook's avatar.

@Bedevere:

Updated OP, and here is a description of Chomp: (PP=10, ACC=100%)

"Using it's extremely powerful jaws, the Pokemon inflicts a devestating attack, often hitting vital areas."

Can be learned by: Totodile Family, Mawile, Trapnich, Carnahva family, and other pokes known for their bites

also, could somebody give me a hand in making movepools for Rexxor (and by default he pre-evo's)? As I'd usually end up making it horrid :p

Bite -> Crunch -> Chomp...?

No offense but Chomp sounds like the in-between of Bite and Crunch.

But then again, there really isn't anything else you could name it. Severing Jaw?

too long of a name...

Eviscerate or Disembowel are too scary/greusome for move names...

Masticate could work, but'd be too lulzy

how about this: Giga or Mega Bite?

Granted, with a name like that it ight need to go to 120 pwr, and 5 pp...

It could always be named Devour, although that sounds more like a Dark-type OHKO move...

Ooo...idea! Devour is Dark-type's OHKO move. Same effects as Sheer Cold, Fissure, and the like. 30% accuracy, better chance of happening as long as the opponent is a lower level, no chance of happening if the opponent is a higher level. If you want it in official format then I could make it so. This move obviously isn't meant to be competitive, so don't judge it as such.

And for those who think the name Devour is too gruesome, consider Guillotine's existence.

I like Severing Jaw for a name kinda.

It just sounds more like a trait to me as opposed to an actual move (the Pokemon has a severing jaw, as opposed to the Pokemon used Severing Jaw). Apart from that it's good though.

Apart from Chomp though, there really isn't much else to choose. And I agree with Terywj on Chomp being more of something in between Bite and Crunch. I looked at my thesaurus and the only other usable options seem to be Tear or Eat. And...I don't see either as very good options myself.

That's what the basic 30% accuracy intends on all OHKO moves. If the Pokemon is the same level as you, the accuracy is 30%.

As for how much the accuracy increases for each level higher than them you are, I don't know. I've looked it up before but for some reason can't find anything. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? I don't know. I'd assume it's a 1% increase though. I don't know why, it just seems logical.

JOE, did you draw that? That's amazing.

Fighting/Dragon?
Steel/Fighting?

Also, we should implement your pumpkin creature into this.

it's my rock.righting pseudo legendary AND fossil enrty

he's on pg 65, i need moves for him :p

(and to continue arguing: if we are simply allowed to alter entries, then it wouldnt have been sleezy to half-way through make [pumpkin guy] look more like a pokemon and scew votes?)

Sweet drawing, JOE!. (It looks inspired by Wolverine and Iron Man, two of the coolest heroes you could probably put together.)

I'll be working on the region map to incorporate the proposed "Prehistoric Zone" into it. I might also start going through the current entries and see where we just might find them in the wild.

The alterations to SmashCAP entries must happen before and after the voting process. By the time the entries are due, what you enter is what gets voted on, and that's final. The winner can go on to be further altered if so desired by the people.

I voted for your Pokemon in the poll, and as such, feel it should still be worked on in some form, so this project seems appropriate.

Enough about arguing about the SmashCAP 2 art, JOE!. The point was that Flyin's submission won. You do realize that if your submission won Spire would have still requested to make some tweaks and edits to it for a finalized piece of art?

On topic though, Rexxor looks completely awesome and bad@ss.

There was a pumpkin Pokemon submitted earlier, I think by Sir Bedevere, whose art he didn't seem to be too proud of. Maybe we could combine the two ideas? Sir Bedevere's Pokemon was Fire/Grass, though.

Which reminds me, @Sir Bedevere: The Hammer, Blend, and Flush Rotom Formes were just kind of extra things. Maybe Rotom can also be found in the region, and some magical jackhammer, blender, and toilet located somewhere can alter its form.
