You should probably just collect Friend codes, since the regional zones boards are significantly better at getting people together in person.

I'm not saying turn back. I'm saying make it useful by collecting friend codes, so that people can play each other by Wi-Fi. If people wanted to play someone near them in person, they'd be far better going to their region on the regional boards, considering that's what they're there for and they are very well established, and good at doing it.
My point: It's not particularly useful to have a list of locations and how far people can go to smashfests, it is useful to have ppls locations and Friend codes, so that people can play over Wi-Fi (and make sure they're reasonably close).
