THIS IS NOW THE PERFECT FRAME DATA COLLECTION THREAD!!!!

this debug pause code can be used to play the game frame by frame however replays never turn out so my original goal has failed BUT the fact that this code can be used for frame data collection has breathed new life into its uses becuase this can be used to further the study of brawl and discover timing for techs/hitboxes.

I like the detail of description of my first post so I'm leaving it here for people to read

ORIGINAL POST:

i have decided to start a new project using this

and the infinite record hacks to play frame by frame perfect victory brawls with every character in the game in order to create a monsterously difficult cpu

they will be unstoppable... perfect shielding every hit spikeing or gimping every recovery, breaking every grab before it can begin, landing every combo you'd wish you had dreamed of, every character will play at a step above even melee's best metagame, and wen pit against each other the battles will last for DAYS. low tier and high tier they will be indistinguishable from each other players will cry as cpu's perform forbidden tech's and DI out of even the hardest falcon punches, MKs will be knocked out of their tornadoes, CGing will become unbreakable, and a battle in the sky is defeat everytime.....

....pros will weep in fear of their godliness and they will cry, "please... make it stop" and i will look down upon them from my diamond tower and say, "NO"

Do the computers in brawl really learn from recorded matches? If so, how would playing it frame by frame make them any better?

Also, would using the "Level 15" cpu help?

he will basically play some "perfect" matches himself, then the cpus will "learn" this

EDIT: only recorded matches? then I better start saving some combo vids on my wii ^^

can't hurt to have some frame perfect videos in your list, right? ^^

wow. id like to see this.
i thought the AI learns from you just playing, not from replays
it learns from replays becuase replays are merely brawls where the game remembers a few things control type, characters, and button inputs. also ewverytime a cpu has gotten better on my wii was AFTER a recorded match against someone really good with that character so im pretty sure this works :/

right, lol plus for hrc... O_O!? XD 1 hrc vid tonight too cuz u made me just now think about it

O_O!?!?!?!?! i could do a double with 1 player!!!!!!!!! xD the title shall be... TWIN FOXES: an hrc drill kick master piece

I don't think this is gonna work aswell as you think. CPUs don't only learn from replays, as I never recorded matches of my D3, but the computer has gotten in two grab cg before. Also, they learn to a point, not the full method, otherwise by now the computer would be RARing and spiking in the game. But eh, good luck.

im not sure wut RARing is but my cpus will cg till im at 100-180 then KO me, mine spike and gimp, they do that stuff where they spam projectiles over the edge to KO u, they stage spike, they QAC to the ledge then thunderspam, they flash cancel, they dash dance, they do the Fog super jump, they jablock and all tht other advanced stuff which they started EVERYtime after i recorded a match of me doing it or i record a match of me encountering it i currently have 347 recorded matches

I probably haven't experienced this because I only have about 41 replays, most of which are from friends that do MultiMan and Homerun and other stuff. The few fighting segments are either when I was a Brawl newb, or they weren't entirely serious; just some cool one-in-a-lifetime stuff that happens or that perma-grab I tested. I gotta start replaying more often =/

same here, I only have like 3 replays since I always go over the 3 minutes. (yes I know about the code)

to make the player able to play a game frame by frame, thus playing that perfect game, then the CPU will (hopefully) learn to do that.

In your homez, playing your Wiiz.

I see thanks.

Well, this seems like it will take AWFULLY long to do ... even if it works.
Call me a skeptic.
I'm just thinking that you have to hack the cpu code for how and what it learns first before making a "perfect" CPU.
If such a CPU was created, I can't see it being too beneficial for training with. But, meh, that's just me.
Please do it though, because just as everyone else is, I'm extremely interested in the results. Oh and are these lvl 9 cpu's being trained??? Or the "level 15" cpu or whatever???

Also, are you going to try to teach them ATs? I assume it's relatively easy to perform them frame by frame, but I mean there are lots of ATs even in brawl if you do plan to.

about ATs, I just played against a cpu diddy, and I think I saw him try to do a glide toss, but he messed up the timing so he threw the nanner down and then rolled, but asa a proof of concept it was okay.

Jigglypuff's rest comes out on frame 1-2. A lot of moves have some multi hit in some frames. Teach the Jigglypuff CPU to rest almost EVERY attack. It would be amazing.

Just FYI, this might not turn out as well as you hope it does.

When you save a replay of frame by frame action, I heard that when you're pressing Z, in the replay (after the match) and you go to watch it, it'll be something ENTIRELY different, mostly your characters grabbing/air dodging depending on where you are on screen.

Not 100% positive on this but, just an FYI.

But CPU's are already godly enough. This is gonna be insane XD

Does that Debug Pause code work for testing frame data? :bee:
