Rules for HSI 2009 Events

***Super Smash Bros Melee***
SBR rules
- Kongo Jungle 64 will be included as a neutral stage
- No Master Hand glitch please

***Super Smash Bros Brawl***

-Time Limit: 8 minutes
-3 stock
-Double Elimination
-Best 2/3 matches
-Finals (Winners, Losers) will be best of 5 matches
-Grand Finals are best of 5 matches
-Should opponents that faced in winner's bracket face again in loser's they will play a best of 5 set
-Pausing will result in the loss of a round unless the opponent lets it slide.
-All button changes MUST BE DONE before the rounds begin.
-If any rules are broken, you should report WHEN IT HAPPENS, not after the fact.
At the beginning of a match players can opt for a double blind pick of their starting characters.
Each player can ban one stage. Both players can also mutually agree to no bans.

Stage strike system:
-This takes place at the start of each first round of every set.
-The player in the highest number control port picks first. If there is a dispute for controller ports jan ken po for it.
-Players then take turns to eliminate stages one by one until there is only one remaining. The remaining stage will be used for the first round, bans will take place during counterpicking; striked stages can be counterpicked if not also banned.
NOTE-Stage bans will take place DURING the counterpicking phase because banning stages BEFORE the set starts may give away strategical information to your opponent and vice versa.
-After the first round the loser picks the stage, the winner decides what character he will play and then the loser will pick their character and the next round will begin.

ALL stall tactics such as MetaKnight's Infinite Dimensional Cape glitch are banned, unless they are for recovery purposes.
Banned Techniques:
-DDD's standing infinite chaingrab.
-Infinites may not extend past 300% to prevent stalling

$1.00 for 2 attempts (You may change characters after every attempt)
You may pay as much as $3.00 at a time and then you must wait until everyone else has had a turn (there will be a list so nobody will get skipped)
Take as many stock as possible
If you manage to take off all 3 stock of one Ganon that Ganon is NOT allowed to life steal and is out of the match for that attempt.
(It is possible I've done it before but getting down to 2 Ganons does NOT make the challenge any easier)
After each attempt we will record how much stock you took. If a Ganon suicides at any point during the challenge it is still counted as a stock for you.
At the end of Day 1 the person who took the most stock will win a surprise package.
All of the money that is raised from this event will go towards Brawl singles

I know I'm already going to lose to him.

I too play Various (mostly high tiers -.-)
So it'll be fun challenging NL in a random battle, that's only if he's not scared -cough-

Well our monthlies are usually on the small side ranging from 40 to 50 something on average.

For the HSI last year we had 57 singles entrants. We were supposed to have way over 60 but so many people flaked at the last minute it was disappointing but what can ya do I guess.

Prizes were done custom instead of 60-30-10 and I hope to match it this year but I won't make any promises for now.

1st got 500, 2nd-250, 3rd 125, 4th 80.

I'm sorry if the size isn't all that impressive but we are a small community and I do the best I can to get as many people to come as possible.

Oh btw if you are Out of State and you haven't talk to me yet please confirm your plane tickets asap so I can start working with my friend on preparing space at his house for all of you.
