Diddy Kong Tournament Results Thread

Alright, I am going to make this a comprehensive thread, dating back to the beginning of brawl. If there is interest, I'd also like to keep track of each diddy kong's tournament winnings. Please start reporting your results. Placings in the money will be in green while tournament wins will be in orange

I'd also like to have doubles results tracked as well, to see how our character does in doubles as opposed to singles. Who you teamed with would be preferred also, so start digging up some results diddy kong mains.


SCRUB TOURNEY: Any tournament that the reward is given in store credit or store hours. I've won many of these tournaments in Indy. Also, school tournaments fall under this
category if not done with a buy in and pay out. I've decided to omit scrub tournaments and also any winnings from them.

Make obvious ---Teams--- and ---Singles--- labels. It'd help more than a single line break.

Perhaps sort the entries by Wins, Money, and Other, and then do chronological order inside those three groups (so as to avoid a potentially distracting color scheme).

Make it obvious and clear that you are transitioning from one player to the next with your color/size/formatting scheme. You don't want the color of the players conflicting with the color of the matches.

Put the rank the person got out of the number of the people in the tournament.

I would suggest changing the blue color to something lighter, like green perhaps, its easier to see that way =).

Thanks for the suggestions..I only put this up so early so I could know what to change, etc because I knew there were flaws but I did not know the most obvious ways to fix them. More should be up later, it took me forever to do ADHD's so i'm hoping it will go more smoothly after this.

/edit I DID put it out of the number of people in the tournament ingulit, was there something confusing about the way I did it. Will change to green later. I might order it as you suggest, ingulit, but I kinda like having it in reverse chronological order so that way we can see how we are doing now compared to in the past.

i would put the date, or whatever you're sorting it by in a different column so its easier to find

Wyatt was the scrub tourney paid out with cash or was it paid out with store credit, etc? That is the best way to determine whether or not it was a scrub tourney or not in my mind. If you got paid with store credit I'm going to omit it.

I guess I'm going to forget keeping track of money won since wyatt can't remember his, I will still keep track of places in the money and victories as a whole, though.

Yeah I dont think the money part is really necasary.
And I think it would really help to put this in chronological order as everyone else said.
Also, heres a suggestion though I personally like your way better ; What do you think about put everyone results together but in chronological order? You could make one huge list of everyones results and then jsut put who won right next to it.

that could work, but it would be hard to find individual matches from certain people. i see what youre saying though, if only there was a sorting function that would categorize by date, place, player, tourney, etc.

are you saying like, splitting diddys by region, then individual results, in chronological order, and with the payout and stuff? Dam, that sounds like alot of work if your even going to attempt doing something like that

That's who they teamed with for doubles. I like seeing how they do with particular partners, but if you guys think its a bad Idea I suppose I could remove it. Doing entry fees would be difficult as there is no way for me to know what the entry fees were unless somebody told me. Plus, 80%+ of tournaments are $10 entry fee.

Bolt, I'm probably not going to put your placings where you win a gift card on there, just because in my experience those tournaments tend to be scrub tourneys with stupid rules, etc. I've won lots of em as well. But I will get that other stuff up tonight most likely. Any format suggestions still welcome.

Those all took place in the first months of the release, so expect to find scrubs regardless? Eh it's understandable I suppose. Do what you do Count, I'm cool with whatever.

Although, for a free entry tournament I still think its worth it in a sense.. and I gave in-depth detail on the tournaments, people just say the touranment, placing, and the date.

There should be more details IMO. But we'll see.

No I agree, but Count said he wanted 2008 results in a previous post as well. So I gave them what I got.

Were doing all results from the beginning of brawl, but I'm not documenting free entry tournies or tournies where you win store credit, as those usually don't have legitimate players in them.

Sorry for the double post but I wanted to bump this. Decent update today.

If you guys would give me a post with your results in it like some others did it would help me immensely. I had to look up flip's stuff and I'm probably missing some. I will try to dig up 2008 stuff also but that is sort of a big job as well, so I will probably get all the 2009 stuff in first before I dig that up.

But whatever. I guess since Store credit or gift cards AREN'T considered money.. and I didn't spend them towards things that I wanted. I don't know, sorry if I'm taking this out of proportion, I'm just a little sad that the efforts I put into those tournaments then aren't worth documenting.. and for you to state that those tournaments usually don't have legitimate players in them blows my mind. Not everyone is "legitimate" in the beginning, and I consider a gift card "in the money", but as I said.. this is your thread. Do what you have to do.. I don't want any problems with my characters community..

I just want to be apart of it.

I'm just telling you man, we've ALL won lots of these tournaments. I won a ton of them at my school, and a bunch of them at a local gaming store in the Indianapolis area. If it is that important to you I can add them but it makes for LOTS more work for me if I add everybody's tournies of those type to the OP.

Don't stress it man. If it's really something you don't want up there, don't stress it. I'll just work harder to win other tourneys to get those green and orange letters under my name.

I'll be attending SIN(Smash In Nevada) june 13th, at least 100 people have registered via AIB and I hope I rep Diddy real well. M2K will be there and I have been studying ADHD, lets hope I use everything I learned to beast my way to the top >< There will be a livestream somewhere
