Yeah, this is pretty much just TwentyTwo's thread (which will soon be my thread as well), except not for top players. Instead I/we'll be interviewing active User Blogs frequenters, or pretty much anyone else you guys want interviewed.

Like 22's thread, you'll be asking questions of the members who are chosen, and I'll select the best questions and interview the person.

I'll try to update this as much as possible, but I'll be pretty busy and may not be able to.

Something different from 22's thread is that YOU will be the ones choosing who is picked. KIND OF. The previous interviewee will nominate someone, and I will choose from either that nomination, or one of the other previous nominations. If the last interviewee nominates someone who already has a nomination, then I will pick that nomination.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 27

Please do not ask personal questions of the interviewee. Ask questions that anyone reading the interview would find interesting. Nothing like "Remember that time where we did blah blah and blah?" I don't see this too often, but please stick to general questions, or at least questions that aren't specific to just the asker and the interviewee. That's what VMs are for :)

I'll have to see how many questions we get, but I'll probably let questions be posted for 3 days to a week.

Past Interviews

INTERVIEW:

Frown: Did you pick TheFanFan as your username because you had problems beating Rayquaza in the SSE until you picked up a fan and did it with ease?

FanFan: Ahaha, frown almost had it right. I never had problems with Rayquaza, but decided to go back through SSE with the Dr. Shrunk sticker on Pit, just for the hell of it. I beat Rayquaza without taking single hit. So I decided to go back and try it on harder difficulties. I beat him at intense without a hit.

Espy: Why...oh god WHY did you change you name to Tentahorns?

FanFan: When I signed up with TheFanFan because Deuce was taken, my friend Ody asked why I didn't use Miss Tentahorns. When I got premium, I promised Ody I'd temporarily change it to Miss Tentahorns. Just kept a deal with a friend.

BungleFever: When did you start smashing?

FanFan: Some time in.... Middle school? Three of my friends needed a fourth player for SSB64. Gave me a controller, said this button attacks, this button jumps, have fun. It had Pikachu so I kept playing. I didn't start playing by tourney standards until about a year ago, though, when I went to C4 Galore in April.

KayLo: How'd you get into art in the first place?

FanFan: I..... don't know. I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, and I just didn't stop. I wasn't too serious about it until a few years ago, though. I just find it fun and a good way to waste time.

Wiscus: Did you draw that avatar pic of yours? I wanna see the whole thing.

FanFan: I think that's when I had the tentahorns avatar. Yes, I did draw it, and yes I have a bigger version.http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii189/purrapurra/misc/acab5aaa.jpg

Vyse: Where have you travelled?

FanFan: Uhhh.. lots of places. I used to go to Niagara Falls a lot when I was younger. I used to go camping by Lake Erie, I've been to Texas once, I have family in New York, Florida, and I think Virginia, I went to Chicago for something five years ago, and my boyfriend is in Indianapolis, so I go there frequently now. I think that's about all the places I've been to.

Vyse: Where do you want to travel to?

FanFan: My dad lives in Montana, so I'd like to go there some time. I also want to go to Jersey to ride Kingda Ka. Going to Germany would be cool too.

Vrael: What are your thoughts on the Disco Room?

FanFan: The Disco Room is amazing and I love it. I keep wanting to post spam in notDR threads because of it, though.

Frown: Will you buy more Premium?

FanFan: If I have the money to, yes! Premium doesn't cost too much so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Wiscus; Do you use your ignore list?

FanFan: Yep, I have Vacaville and GangstaKirby on ignore. I blame the Disco Room.

Saucekay: What are some of your fears?

FanFan: Losing anyone important to me, definitely. I also fear heights somewhat, if I dont' feel safe. Automatic car washes have always scared me as a child and they still do.

Mota: What's the most unique/weirdest thing you can do with your body?

FanFan: .....I'm double jointed in both wrists and all my fingers?

Saucekay: What is the first thing you notice in the opposite sex?

FanFan: Can't really answer that. I notice different things in different people. Best answer I can give is just their general appearance.

Mota: What is your favourite flower?

FanFan: Tiger lilies and Fuschia. It's a tie between those two.

Wiscus: What’s your favorite kind of dessert?

FanFan: Oreo cheesecake, definitely.

Vrael: What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?

FanFan: Peanut butter tracks or mint chocolate chip

Vrael: How are you doing?

FanFan: I'm doing fine, thank you! A little hungry but I have cookies to fix that.

Vrael: If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?

FanFan: I would change the fact that I immediately started college after high school instead of waiting for spring quarter like I intended.

Thanks FanFan, and all the people who asked questions!

Falcon doesn't come here anymore. (He's not just inactive, he's left SWF. At least for the time being.)

I nominate...Straked.

SOLID, I think a good idea would be to start a vote once a certain number of people have been nominated.

That would make the voting process much better, as well as save some time. :p

Yeah Teran, that's a good idea. What are we talking? 5? 10?

I'll say 8 for now. We got:

Infinite Dreams
Teran
Straked
Firus
SuSa

Alright that's all for now. So 3 more then? Unless you guys want less/more nominations. I'm open to suggestions!

Something between 5-8 sounds reasonable.

All depends on how fast and smooth you want the process to be.

: Why do you enjoy blogs so much?

Teran: Well blogs is the one place on SWF where there are no real restrictions on content aside from Global Rules. To me, it makes me feel like I'm getting more in tune with the actual people on SWF. Most topics I see are Tier Lists and whatever, but a topic about some random life topic is nice. Not to mention, the community there is friggin' awesome, and we've come quite close together from our jokes and hilarious shenanigans. We're like a family, a faction, an army. I wouldn't have become a mod for any other room. (Except Falco, which I also mod :p)

SOLID: Great answer

REL38: What exactly brought you to SWF?

Teran: Well I first got introduced to competitive Melee by my cousins in 06. I never knew Melee could have so much depth, but I looked around and found SWF. I kinda dropped in and out a bit, because I never really liked forums, so I never signed up. I followed the release of Brawl, and when it was released, I felt the temptation to sign up. Again, I never lied forums so I hesitated, but when I observed how cool the people were, and had just gotten serious with Brawl, I though "**** it", and joined in October '08.

REL38: How much longer do you see yourself on the Boards?

Teran: I see myself here for a veeeery long time. At least till the end of my bachelor's degree, which I finish in 2012

Omnicron: Have you ever actually been angry at someone on SWF?

Teran: Nah not really. I was a bit disgusted by Koth with his pathetic attempts at sympathy and cries for attention, but to be honest, I don't really get angry with people on SWF, even if they like to believe it.

TWiNKatGC: Is there any user blog that has really impacted you? A blog that you'll never forget, or that you just love?

Teran: I guess so. I liked Jam's blog on how Brawl was killing the competitive spirit. I'm not gonna lie either, the classic "Play SSBB Forever" blog that spawned the "Play Melee" meme was pretty epic. When I look at it though, it's not so much the blogs rather than the community that have really impacted me and made me stick around in UB.

SOLID: Interesting.

Firus: Which of the Ace Attorney games is your favorite?

Teran: ACE ATTORNEY. The story was awesome. I really liked finding out about the past behind Phoenix and Edgeworth, not to mention that Manfred von Karma, the greatest prosecutor ever, was in that game.

RyuReiatsu: Do you think that Manfred Von Karma is hot?

SOLID: Had to include that one.

Teran: No, I generally like the cute ones. Manfred is a guy like me, and I'd never be attracted to a guy like me. Manfred is old, and I like the cute ones, my age. Maybe somewhat younger and a little older, but definitely not Manfred, sorry to disappoint.

Denzi: You'll have my babies, right?

Teran: Actually, I'm afraid that I'm the active partner with boys so... I'm afraid if any babies are made, you'll be the ones carrying them. I still love you though, I promise.

Glyph: Who's your favorite member other than yourself?

Teran: That's pretty **** hard. I've grown really close to a lot of people on SWF. Basically, take this list as my homies. Straked, KevinM, Zero Beat, Chaco, Tom, Glyyyyyyyyph, SkylerOcon, KawaiiLoli, and DTP (previously known as Samusbrawler.) PARTYCHAT PEEPS = TERAN'S HOMIES

SOLID: You take modding here very seriously. Do you see this as an actual job? Do you devote as much time to here as you would to another real-life job?

Teran: I take any responsibility seriously. To be honest, I'm just given a bunch of guidelines and I follow them by the book. If you break a rule, it doesn't matter if you're Mahatma Gandhi or Adolf Hitler, I'll treat it the same. I take real life more seriously of course, I devote a lot of time to my own personal successs. I do my jobs properly, and get my duties done. That's not a problem is it?

SOLID: You know what they say, you gotta do the cooking by the book.

Clownbot: Favorite song(s)?

Teran: 1) Blue - Eiffel 65
2) Burn It All - A Dark Halo
3) Now We Are Free - Gladiator Soundtrack

SOLID: 3rd song is great

Frown:

What are the first 5 sites you visit when you open your web browser?

Teran: I don't visit that many sites on a regular basis. 1) Google (**** yeah) 2) SWF 3) Kotaku. The rest I can't mention due to Global Rule restrictions, and no, they aren't porn sites. -__-

TheGreatKazoo: What advice would you give for someone who would want to be a mod?

Teran: You should never actively try to become one. Asking to become one is a surefire way to doom yourself. Becoming a mod is as simple as being the right person in the right place at the right time. If Jam hadn't resigned, I wouldn't have been modded. Basically, don't break rules, be intelligent, and be productive and don't suck up. Just be yourself. If you're the right person for the job in the right place at the right time, you'll be modded, if you don't fit those criteria, too bad. I didn't sign up to SWF to be a moderator, and to be honest, I'd still be perfectly happy as a regular member. There's more to life than telling people what to do and infracting them. It's not all fun and games, although the red name and Legion of Doom are pretty sweet. *Bans SOLID for Pornography*

SOLID: FUUUUUUU

Clownbot: Have you ever met someone famous? If so, who?

Teran: I've met: Daniel Radcliffe, Skandar Keynes (Edmund in Narnia), Sir Trevor McDonald, Stephen Fry, Richard Madeley, and Kane (WWE Wrestler).

lythium: What is your guilty pleasure?

Teran: None of my pleasures are guilty.

SOLID: O_o

: How do you feel on the subject of 'meese'?

Teran: MEESE SHOULD BE THE PLURAL OF MOOSE MOTHER****ERS.:mad::mad::mad:

REL38: Favourite food?

Teran: I don't have one, I like a lot of foods and have never thought about differentiating one as the best. Different foods are awesome at different times, enjoy your ****ing food and stop picking favourites!

AlexoftheAura: Coke or Pepsi?

Teran: Always Coca Cola <3

lythium: How many infractions have you had?

Teran: Don't know, but I have 3664 pages. Blame Azua for that.

Highfive: Ever played a practical joke on a friend so horrible they stopped being your friend?

Teran: Nope, I'm really good to my friends actually.

SOLID: Have you ever listened to Lupe Fiasco? If so, do you like his music? Dislike it? Indifferent?

SOLID: I'm going to ask this to everyone I interview.

Teran: Never listened, sorry mate.

SOLID: It's K.

: What size shoes do you wear?

Teran: British: 7.5 American: 9.5 EU: 41. Wait, American: 8, sorry.

SOLID: Lol, small feet.

Frown: Best/Worst internet meme?

Teran: Don't really know, every meme can shine when pulled off correctly.

SOLID: Last but not least:

KuroZero:

Are you bi?

SOLID: (This needs to be cleared up lol)

Teran: *facepalm*
No ***got, I'm exactly what I just called you. GAY. *censored* :maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad:

Teran: Is that all? That was nothing :grimer:

SOLID: Thanks man, I hope everyone else is as entertaining as you to interview LOL

Teran: Haha, most people are gay and should die in a pit of fire.

SOLID: That's definitely going in.

Teran: motherfffffffffffffffffffffffffff

Infinite Dreams: In one word how would you describe User Blogs? SWF?

Jam: Unique

REL38: What brought you to SWF?

Jam: I went to my very first tournament back in 2005, and I saw a friend there (his handle is JV Smooth) who I would have never guessed played Smash. He introduced me to SWF so that I could learn more about the game and where to look for tournaments.

As a side story: the guy I went to the tournament with knew about SWF for years, and never bothered to tell me. As a result, every time we played he ***** me, because he knew things that I couldn't even fathom existed, like l-canceling and the like.

Glyph: Jam I love you. I know its not a question but its the truth <3 Also, how do you be so cool?

Jam: Well, I do lots of cool pushups and cool situps. I'm not looking for bulk cool, I just want to tone the cool I already have

: What do you do outside of writing and family?

Jam: Work and go to college. That's pretty much it.

NDayDay: How has your life changed in the past 3 years?

Jam: Pfft, where should I begin? I met my wife, knocked her up. married her, had a son, changed schools, and now I'm on the verge of a divorce. So yeah, it's been a busy three years.

highfive: What has been the most life altering experience in your life?

Jam: Definitely the birth of my son. Everything has changed since that point, for the better. It's hard to put into words how things change, but it's not an exaggeration to say that I'm a completely different man now. There's really no love like the love you feel for your children; it really is all-encompassing and unconditional. Everything I do now has him in mind. I don't want to say it gives my life purpose, because I had that before. It definitely does add a laser-like focus to everything I want to accomplish though, because it will all be for his benefit.

Tom:

What do you want Gabriel to be when he grows up?

Jam: I think I'm supposed to give the standard "Whatever will make him happy" answer, but I'll be honest: I want him to be an engineer or something with science. I know that's just me living vicariously through him, as I wish I'd had the guts to go down that road. But I also think he might enjoy it, and find it to be a fulfilling career.

S.O.L.I.D.:

What's it like having a son on a forum with mainly teenage kids on it? I know there are a few others who have children, but is it difficult to relate to a lot of people here?

Jam: Not really. I know that no one wants to hear, "Wow, Gabriel said something only intelligible to me today!", so I don't post about it. I like coming to SWF specifically because of the different people and their different places in life, whether they're younger or older than me. Because honestly, forums for parents are pretty **** boring.

Vyse: Jam, what progress are you making towards getting published?

Jam: I just had my third story rejected, so I'm steadily plugging away, sending my stuff out from time to time. Perhaps I've set my goals too high by submitting only to Glimmer Train, a pretty prestigious journal. But they focus on unpublished authors as well, so it's a good risk to take. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do but send your stuff out and wait to get rejected, or miraculously accepted. I still have some skill to gain before miraculous acceptance comes, though.

Clownbot: How do you feel about Obama?

Jam: I voted for him, and despite my flirtations with conservatism (aka the "Dark Side"), I agree with him on most things. There are two main issues I have, which aren't necessarily his fault but they are related to him: 1) To other black people, it's literally a crime that sometimes I say that I don't agree with an Obama policy. Because I'm a black man, I MUST SUPPORT OBAMA 120% OR ELSE!!!! 2) I was hoping that he wouldn't toe the standard Democrat line so hard; I mean yeah, I agree with most of it, but not everything, yet there he is, disregarding what he said about choosing the best option and essentially behaving like a standard Democrat. I admit, I got caught up in the sweeping rhetoric about hope and change in the campaign, and it is a big letdown.

Gf2tw: How are you today?

Jam: I'm okay. Things are better today than they have been for the last month, but still not where I want them to be.

Vyse: What are your tips for good writing?

Jam: Read a lot and write a lot. That's pretty much all there is to it. You will not get any better without practice, practice, practice. That means reading successful writers, and then learning from them by practicing what they do well by writing.

Teran: Are there any videogames you've played that have gone beyond just pure enjoyment? One that made you think, one that actually perhaps even given you new insight?

Jam: I know it became something of a Smashboards meme for a little while, but Final Fantasy VI really is that game for me. That game is what got me into video game music, and looking at a game as something more than just gameplay, because let's be honest: JRPG turn-based gameplay and random battles are terrible. Really terrible. But everything else about that game was just so perfect that I overlooked those huge flaws. I love that game so much that I beat the PS1 Anthology version TWICE. Just imagine playing a JRPG where every random battle is accompanied by 10-15 seconds of load time.

REL38: What made you accept the position of mod of User Blogs?

Jam: I actually wanted it. I was initially recruited to be the mod of the Melee Ice Climbers board, and after I did that for a few weeks, I requested UB. That's what I really wanted all along, and Melee IC boards was my backdoor way in. After I got UB, I pretty much ignored the IC boards. Not that it matters anyway; Doggysammich is a great mod for the entire Melee character forum, and there are like only three people who post in the IC boards on a regular basis. It didn't really need a mod.

Teran: What do you think of UB's current state?

Jam: I love it. I think that Teran is doing an awesome job with it (he'd better, since I recommended him for it!) I have a very different opinion about UB than most people do: they don't understand that UB is NOT A ROOM. It exists the way it does only to make responding to blogs easier. Kiki (Kirby King to the unitiated) had to explain that to me as well, and once I got it, I could see UB for the beauty that it is. You can't say "UB sucks", because really, UB is not a place. You can say, "[Insert Member Name Here] writes poor blogs", and just ignore those blogs. Of course, that idea is lost on some posters, and they'd rather ***** and moan about UB than just ignoring the bad blogs. I think that Teran understands the true nature of UB, which is what makes him such an effective moderator.

Frown: Which Pokémon gen is the best?

Jam: Red/Blue. It's really the only one I've played though, so it's the best by default

lythium: What's your favorite book?

Jam: Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.I don't really like reading novels, I prefer short stories. So I guess it makes since that my favorite book is a novella. There's just something about it that I really enjoy, even if it is super-dense.

Youko: If you had to give an hour-long lecture to high-school students, what would be the topic on which you pontificate? Reason why?

Jam: I would pontificate on taking life one day at a time. I'm in a place in my life right now that I would have never dreamed of when I graduated high school, and through all of the good and bad, I wouldn't change anything. Nothing has gone according to the plan I had then, and I'm glad it didn't. So I would tell them not to be so uptight about the future. Of course, try to be successful and make the right decisions, but I would tell them to relax. I truly believe that things tend to work out for the best.

Glyph: What the hell does "pontificate" mean?

Jam: Pontificate means to talk about. You should know that, mod!

Infinite Dreams: If you had a catch phrase what would it be? Do you have one already?

Jam: My catchphrase before was, "Nice"; I would always use that to express pleasure. Now, if I could choose one, I would say "Gauis frakking Baltar" any time I wanted to register displeasure. If you get that phrase, you're awesome. If not, go watch Battlestar Galactica RIGHT FRAKKING NOW

SOLID: Well that's pretty much it. Thanks man, you're a really interesting guy.

Jam: Thank you for the opportunity. I really enjoyed the interview.

Great interview, thanks Jam, and all you guys who asked great questions!

Straked:

Virgilio: How are you?

Straked: I've been better.

Junglefever: What brought you to SWF?

Straked: I was very interested in Brawl once it came out, but I never bothered looking for forums. I hated them with a passion. SWF just felt different.

Frown: For how many years do you think you'll be staying on SWF?

Straked: I plan on staying for quite a few years. Once everyone leaves.

REL38: In one word how would you describe SWF?

Straked: Mad

Virgilio: If you never joined SWF, do you think your life would be better/worse?

Straked: I'd probably be unaffected. Ever since I joined this site, things have changed for the better.

SOLID: Do you think that this change for the better has anything to do with being on SWF, or is it coincidental?

Straked: It has to do with SWF. The people I've known on here have helped me in the long-run.

Clownbot: What does “Straked” mean?

Straked: It doesn't have a real meaning. (that I'm aware of) It was a randomized name a friend of mine received when coming up with a login name for a virtual pets site they wanted me to join.

Kinzer: How do you summarize your time on SWF up to the point you read this question?

Straked: Enter: Straked, the site's newest member and the perfect definition of a newbie. I spent my early days in the New Member's Fight Arena. I lurked the character boards and learned how to post just by watching those around me. I spent a good deal of time in OTL and User Blogs. My post count sky rocketed from those two sections of the site. I began posting near everywhere. I started making some friends from that point on. People like Teran, Frown, Barge, and Air were the ones I talked to most often. I then became the next mod after Ocon retired from the Mario boards and things went just fine after that. Teran proposed to me, the Disco Room had just came out along with premium membership. Now, when I go online, I open up SWF, Aim, and youtube.

Frown: What was your Posts Per Day at its peak?

Straked: Once OTL was at it's best, I was at 37.98 PPD. And that was during the summer.

Teran: What were your early impressions of your current SWF friends?

Straked: I thought they were honest, sincere, kind-hearted people. I've now come to the conclusion that they're all dirty little liars and I hate them all. Especially Xiivi.

Lythium: Why did you change your name to ?

Straked: It was a running gag between quite a few of us on the site. Something about it was just too funny. I was talking to Azua on AIM one day and decided "Hey, can I get a namechange to ?" She lol'd and went right ahead and did it. I don't plan on changing it back for quite some time because it looks too good on red. And someone else might steal it!

Jam: Do you have any siblings? If so, how's the relationship with them?

Straked: I have one sister and somewhat of a "step-brother" named Robert. My sister Amber and I don't talk much, she's the polar opposite of my dad and I. She's spoiled, uptight, and hotheaded. I'll throw in a fun story. I was at my aunt's house one time when she came out and handed me the phone. It was my mother. She was stuttering, telling me if I knew someone named "Brian Hernandez". I couldn't recall anyone by that name, so she told me that only minutes ago, my cousin Jaime found Amber talking to a boy named Brian on Myspace. It was a back and forth conversation between the two that was something like "cant wait 2 see u. :] <33" and similar love responses. She called my mom, my mom called my aunt, and my aunt told me. I knew Amber's myspace by heart, I threatened every boyfriend she had in real life. But this time was different. My mother was up in arms because he was a 23 year old in our same city. I know her profile by heart, "bloopony". I open it, of course it's set to private. I check her mood and see those love comments. I click the guy's profile and burst out laughing because this 23 year old rapist is actually a 14 year old chubby mexican kid that went to my old middle school. Robert is a troublemaker that grew up in a trailer park. He's actually at a court hearing right now for breaking into a High School.

SOLID: Is there any place other than where you currently mod that you think would be a fun/nice place to moderate?

Straked: I'd really enjoy moderating User Blogs alongside Teran.

Teran: Favourite Elite 4 Champion?

Straked: Lance, he has a cape and Dragonair.

Lythium: What is your favourite video game?

Straked: Tough choice, but I'll have to say Banjo Kazooie.

SOLID: What color Snuggie do you have?

Straked: A blue one that I never use.

SOLID: How often do you paintball?

Straked: Almost weekly. I played it competitively for a team and hung out with Dynasty nearly every time they came to Tampa, Orlando, or Huntington Beach.

SOLID: Are you considered good by the people that you paintball with?

Straked: They consider me one of the best players out there. Even though I'm not really talented, I just have top-notch gear and a bit of speed.

SOLID: How did you get into paintball?

Straked: My uncle ran a store out of his own garage for years. When I was 10 years old, my dad took me down there Christmas day to play with my cousin. My first gun was a $40 Black Maxx. The first time I was shot was in the neck and I went off the practice field with a tear in my eye.

SOLID: Uncle Cooter?

Straked: No, Uncle Doug.

SOLID: Aww...

Straked: I have 4 uncles on my mother's side, 2 on my father's side.

Kazoo: What's your favorite thing to do in Tampa? [Or in LOL]

Straked: Ybor City has a place called "Gameworks". It's owned by Sega and it's somewhat of a club with games. Picture it as a "Chuck E. Cheese" for people that grew up.

Teran: Where are we going to have our honeymoon?

Straked: That's up to you, babe.

SOLID: How’d you find out about WKUK? Is Dino rap your favorite one?
Straked: While browsing, I saw it on Fuse one day. I decided to check it out, hoping I could laugh at it being some dance show for white people or something. I was really impressed by their crude sense of humour, and loved it ever since.

SOLID: Favorite food?

Straked: Shepherd's Pie.

Frown: In which forum/subforum do you think you've posted the most?

Straked: I think I've done most of my posting in OTL.

Lythium: Apples or oranges?

Straked: Oranges because I live in Florida.

Junglefever: Why don't you love me?

Straked: I do.

Clownbot: If you could rate yourself on a scale of one to ten on how well you play as your main(s), what would you give yourself?

Straked: About 4/10, 43% at best.

SOLID: Anything else you want to tell about yourself?

Straked: There's not much else to say. Fun interview, thanks, Vrael. <3

Frown: How are you?

Lythium I'm pretty good, thanks for asking! No complaints.

Ndayday: How was it being one of the few people to get into the BRoom?

Lythium It was a complete and total shock. But a good one definitely. It was completely unexpected, especially because I still consider myself to be somewhat new to the site. And I certainly don't think I'm as cool as people claim I am. But the Broomers are a quite awesome and amazing bunch, and I'm really proud to be a part of their number.

Clownbot: How do you feel about being a member of the "Welcoming Committee" (or whatever it's called ) for Forum Guides/User QA?

Lythium: Again, I'm really excited for it. I think it's a wonderful idea for new and old users alike. I remember what it was like being a newbie, and I think it's great that SWF has taken the initiative to be more welcoming to new users.

Airgemini: Lythium or lythium?

Lythium: Haha, Lythium, most certainly.

Xonar: Standard question, what irritates you most?

Lythium: Haha, probably quite a lot. Wet pant hems irritate me to no end. I'm sure there's a multitude of other things, but it's been raining a lot in my part of the world, and it's the first thing that came to mind. Also, when people leave the 100% Cashmere or 100% Wool on ther coat/scarf/etc. or the little threads in vents or pleats of jackets. I don't know why, but it irritates me.

Frown: Do your colleagues wonder why you visit a gaming site every break?

Lythium: I bet they do. But half of them play WoW, and the other half play silly Facebook apps, so it's probably rather unfair for them to judge. But they do wonder what I'm up to.

CRASHiC: As a female, was it intimidating to go to your first video game tournament?

Lythium: It definitely was, yes. I hadn't really thought about it, leading up to it, but once I walked through the door, I couldn't help thinking, "Oh dear, do I really belong here?". I felt like I really stuck out, and I think that a lot of guys didn't know how to take my presence there, so they more or less ignored me. So, it was a bit intimidating, to answer your question. But I enjoyed it all the same, and there are quite a few friendly people there, so it was still a fun time.

Airgemini: What's your favorite food?

Lythium: Oh, geez. Candy. I love candy.

Vrael: : Favorite kind?

Lythium: Any kind, really. I'm not fussy. I'm quite fond of chocolate, but liquorice nibs are quite satisfying somehow. And jellybeans. And lollipops. Haha, I'm good with any kind of sugar. I think it's because I have an enormous sweet tooth and terribly gullible self-control. I have mostly gotten out of the habit of eating candy for breakfast, but I still snack throughout the day on things I shouldn't be.

dragonblooded: Coke or Pepsi?

Lythium: Dr. Pepper! Nah, but if I had to choose I guess it would be Coke. Pepsi is too fizzy somehow.

CRASHiC: What do you prefer for your late night snack, Subway, Taco Bell, or Olive Garden?
Lythium: lol Crashic. Well, I'm not a huge fan of tacos, and though I do like the breadsticks, I'm not a huge fan of the salad at Olive Garden. So... Subway. Because you can get the foot-long.

TigerWoods: What is your favorite book, instrument and style of music? Why?

Lythium: Oh my. I have so many favourite books, so I don't know if I could pick just one! But I will try. ... I'm stuck between After Dark by Haruki Murakami and Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. Both are so excellent, and I've read them so many times. I think I like them so much because they're so elegantly written. Nothing feels awkward or out of place. There's just something about them that feels perfect to me. It's an odd sentiment, and not one that I can quite express, but there's something about them that never fails to pull me in. /wall o text As for favourite instruments, I have two: ukulele and cello. I can barely play either, but both please me greatly. Cello tugs at my l'il heartstrings, and ukulele makes me hop-skip along. And style of music. I don't really like one thing in particular, except I'm very fond of music that sounds different or intersting in some way. Like nothing else. Artists that go one step farther in music to make it sound unique, if not original. That's what really pulls me in.

Frown: If you got the chance to become an admin, would you take it?

Lythium: Hmm, no. I don't think so. Probably not. As tempting as it would be to snoop around, I wouldn't want that sort of responsibility. Maybe for a day, just to see what it's like.

Gf2tw: Mac or Windows, and what is the reasoning behind it?
Lythium: Windows because I'm too poor to afford a Mac. Truthfully, I don't think Windows is all that bad, though I'm not really fond of Vista. It's aesthetically pleasing, I guess, but it's somewhat of an annoyance. Also, XP. It's a FACE.

CRASHiC: Is your boyfriend a good cup of Joe?

Lythium: Considering that he's a barista, yes. Yes, he is. He has fans. Apparently, he makes the best Americano in the city. Sorry, I'm allowed to brag about him because I wubs him.
Sucumbio: If you could go into the future to witness ONE event, assuming you're there only to witness, not to interact, and that you would be invisible, which event would you choose to witness?
Lythium: Oh my! What a difficult question! I think, given the choice, I would rather go to the past, but since I can only go the future, I suppose I would like to witness the end of humanity. I know, it sounds very cliche and morbid, but I am curious to know what's going to do us in. Fiery horsemen? Aliens? Zombies? It's just curiosity more than anything else.

Vrael: Any plans for Christmas?
Lythium: My ideal plan is simply to enjoy Christmas. Working in retail can really suck the fun out of the holiday, so I just want to hang out with my boyfriend and family, and just relax. Also, I plan to eat lots of food.

solidmarth: Frown: What do you long for right now?

Lythium: A white dress. It sounds strange, I know, but at the moment, I am all about dresses, and I would really like to have one. Or a mudkip. That would be pretty sweet also.

Youko: What's the best part about being a woman, which a male-infested Smashboards community could never comprehend?

Lythium: Hmm... I think the best part is when people find out that I am female. I mean, I think the majority of SWF knows it by now, but for a while, it was very amusing to see all the different reactions from guys who thought I was a guy. It's not like I was performing a weird gender experiment or anything, but it was always interesting. Which led into a lot of guys asking about relationships, and whatnot. But yeah, it was quite interesting for a while to see different reactions.

Indigo Jeans: What's your favorite dish to prepare and why?

Lythium: I guess it's not really a dish, but that would be cupcakes. By far. I don't know why I love cupcakes so much. I think it must be because they're so tiny and versatile and cute. There's something inherently heartwarming about a cupcake.

Frown: Which was the best year of your life and why?

Lythium: Hmm, that's a tricky one. I can't really think of one year that stands out in particular, but every year seems to be better than the last. At this point in my life, I feel more content than I have in ages. I feel happy in every regard: what I'm doing, my plans for the future, and who I'm with. Also, I think I've reached a point now where I can be happy with who I am. It's a very satisfying feeling. So, I guess my meandering answer is here and now.

Glyph: Why haven't we spoken? Word on the street is you're a pretty cool person.

Lythium: I don't know. Why haven't we? Let's fix that right now!

Vrael: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Lythium: Telekinesis! You can do anything with telekinesis.

Thanks Lyth!

REL38: What brought you to Smashboards?

Youko: I started playing Melee back in 2003, but I had no idea of the competitive scene until my freshman year of college at the University of Michigan, when I lived in the same hall as Scotu and Levitas. They seemed to play Smash nonstop, and even had players like Ankoku and Bowyer over to play frequently. Combine this constant involvement with the start of Sakurai’s DOJO in late May 2007, and I joined SWF in June 2007 with thoughts of doing a podcast that recapped DOJO updates. In fact, here’s that first thread I made: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=106295 – and the rest, as they say, is history.

Teran: Favourite room on SWF?

Youko: It’s not General Brawl anymore – that place was fun during pre-Brawl hype, but now it’s kinda just turned into the dregs of the forums in terms of intelligence. The Pool Room has some fun threads, like Las Pictoras. The Smash Back Room has some interesting discussions once in a while, but it was only really fascinating when the Brawl metagame was being formed. Regional boards? So much drama – fun, but not worth it, plus I often have to go in other regions to clean up messes. User Blogs is a great place – an awesome idea to be implemented on Smashboards – but people should post less about their personal issues when the answers are pretty obvious (just ask her out already/she’s not that into you!). Granted, there are some great threads that are made here, for sure. But sorry UB people, the answer to the question is the Back Room. It is as amazing as you’ve heard, plus we have cake. And :088:

4 the lulz: What's it like being a Super Moderator?

Youko: I would quote the response to “What’s it like having a gun?” from Superbad, but that wouldn’t be appropriate for the site. If you know the line though, pretty much that. Ummmm, honestly though, it’s just like being a regular moderator, but for every board. That’s really the only upgrade. So basically, EVERYONE hates you when you enforce the rules! And you can change people’s avatars and signatures if they’re stubborn about changing their appropriateness. Although the only time I did that was to add an image to Anther’s sig as a joke…knowing him personally helped though.

Vyse: Why Raichu?

Youko: Why not Raichu? He’s basically just a better version of Pikachu who got whored out when it came to advertising the franchise. I remember making my own little cartoons/graphic novels when I was ten years old – I was a trainer who had a Raichu…so I don’t know the real reason why I like :026: so much, but it’s something that goes way back into my childhood. I even have a little Raichu on my set of keys! As for the use of him on Smashboards, I maintain to this day that I was first person to use a Poké-gif as a staple in my posts. But here’s the catch – and Vyse, I’ve only seen you do the same with Primeape, which I appreciate – I only post Raichu in CLOSING POSTS. These people who post :093: and :034: and :109: and more after EVERY post? CHUMPS and WANNA-BE copiers and my disdain for them grows a little more every time I see it happen.

Kinzer: How's life treating you?

Youko: Life currently has its ups and downs. On the plus side, classes are going very well in my senior year of college, I’m expanding my circle of friends, and I have more self-confidence than ever before. However, I’m at that bizarre but expected state with a lot of the girls I’m interested in…where they have boyfriends, lol. Plus, I’m starting to worry a little bit more every day about my professional future after college when I graduate in early May. It sucks to be born in the late 80s and to be looking for a job now in this economic climate.

airgemini: How'd you come up with the name Youko?

Youko: Ono, Kanno, Gurren Lagann…none of these things. I never really had an online/gaming handle before I joined Smashboards, and since I was starting a podcast, I wanted something simple…catchy…easy to remember. However, the primary reason was that I LOVE the anime Yu Yu Hakusho and Kurama, particularly his Youko transformation, was my favorite character. I was going through a rough time when I joined SWF, and a transformation to better myself was something that I felt I needed. I just didn’t know it’d lead to so many misspellings (Youku, Yuko, etc.) and misinterpretations from people in the future.

Frown: Looking at the forum awards, it seems as if you were the most beloved noob back in 2007. How come?

Youko: People still remember the Forum Awards? Well, in addition to winning Most Respected n00b and Host with the Most and sharing the Prestigious Award (voted on by the staff, so I’m most proud of that one), it should be noted that I was third for Sexiest Mod and runner up for Best Writer, Most Improved, and Most Omnipresent. But annnnnyway, for those that weren’t around back in the day, Brawl hype was a BIG DEAL on Smashboards. Seriously HUGE. For how I contributed to the boards with 35 straight weeks of podcasting with “Show Me Your News,” I became a moderator in November 2007 (after joining in June) since I was a notable Brawl name that people could identify with. To think that Gimpyfish, SamuraiPanda, and I were the biggest names in ALL of Brawl at one point is still an amazing thought.

Vrael: Is there anything that you don't like about SWF right now? If so, what would you do to fix it, if you had the option to do so?

Youko: Bots ‘n’ Trolls. It sounds like the latest bangin’ rap jam, but seriously, it’s the truth. Bots are unfortunately unavoidable, but ridding them consists of the majority of mod activities on these boards. Trolls are another nuisance, but I’m actually going to just lump them in with stupid people. What would I do to fix stupid people? I’m glad you asked. Back when the boards were terribly hectic (read: moronic) from pre-Brawl hype, I was seriously considering making a stickied thread in General Brawl Discussion with the title “HUGE BRAWL NEWS!” The thread would consist of the following original post “If you post IN THIS THREAD after this post, you will be PERMANANENTLY BANNED from the forums. You have been hereby warned.” That method of getting rid of idiotic forum-goers is nearly foolproof.

Teran: Are there any blogs you've read in UB's short existence that you particularly liked?

Youko: I’m actually a fan of the Blogs of the Week I’ve written, my rival. But seriously man, your Koth blog was one that will go down in SWF lore. Just the complete destruction of a fool seeking online pity was so…invigorating. Also, did Maxfire post something in User Blogs? I’m pretty sure he did. I won’t forget the legends that were Maxfire and Koth. If any of you weren’t around Smashboards during those times…you really missed out. Recently though? I think ~automatic’s Handwriting thread is a pretty unique, clever idea.

REL38: How much longer do you see yourself on the Boards?

Youko: That’s not something I usually think about, but I suppose when I start to feel my interest waning, I’ll take my leave. After all, as a Super Moderator, it’s isn’t fair to abandon my duties for a few months before quitting. As to when that will happen, I really can’t say. Once I graduate school and find a job, it might be tricky, but there will always be free time to browse the forums and deal with reported posts. I don’t know – Smashboards is an important part of who I am today and I just would rather not think about when the point of subtracting that from my life will be. There are just too many other things to think about.

Ndayday: I know that you've been like, studying on relationships or something. How has that been working for you? Has it helped you, hurt you, or not been beneficial to you at all?

Youko: Well, I guess it depends on how you define “study,” because the effort I put towards it certainly isn’t comparable to anything like my studies as a film student. But, from what I’ve read and learned on the matter, it has substantially helped me. To think of where I came from after a really tough breakup to now is rather astounding! Granted, it hasn’t gotten me a girlfriend just yet, but I’ve learned a lot about myself and interactions with others, plus I’ve made lots of female friends and gained tons of self confidence. It’s really fun to flirt and to get back into the game. Hell, I’m still even learning things I need to improve on to this day! I would totally recommend that every guy checks out David DeAngelo’s material – even for the ladies, to share with the guys in their life.

Kirbichu:

How has the past two years of going from the bottom and shooting straight up to Super Mod been for you?
Youko: As you might expect, it’s been very overwhelming. Being granted moderator, back room, and Brawl back room access five months after you join Smashboards was pretty unheard of at the time, and it’s still pretty mind-blowing. Even with the Super Mod promotion I was kindly granted last January, it’s all a matter of seeing where certain priorities lie in your life. Smashboards has been quite important to me since I joined in June 2007 for several reasons, and I’ve naturally been a leader, so I actually enjoy being on the staff, despite how difficult of a job it is to do. You have to show temperance, patience, and proper judgment…while usually taking a lot of crap along the way. If you can’t laugh off someone making an alternate account just to solely flame you, the position probably wouldn’t be for you. Plus, the people on the staff are really great individuals, so that helps the experience as well!

Teran: If you were a Pokémon trainer and saw Ash Ketchum hanging on a cliff edge by one hand, would you help him or chuckle and walk off?

Youko: My favorite question. After doing “WTF Pokémon,” a YouTube series where my brother and I mocked the Pokémon anime, it doesn’t take much for me to note that Ash Ketchum is a moron (see our series here: http://revver.com/user/wtfpshow/). Ash is just a chump and a poor representative of the brand name, who gets ten-year-old girls to travel along with him…all while staying ten years old himself? So, here’s what I’d do if he were hanging on a cliff. 1) Taunt him while he hangs there. 2) His grip starts to slip. 3) Say I send out a Bulbasaur to use Vine Whip to help him up. 4) I send out a Snorlax instead to crush him. 5) After he’s dead, say “Gold’ll kick your *** anyway, Red.”

REL38: If you had to opportunity to meet Masahiro Sakurai (aka M-dawg), what would be the first thing you'd say to him?

Youko: I’d be all like, “Yo, M-Dawg, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish…” – OK, seriously though, I would legitimately say “Thank you for making Super Smash Bros. Brawl.” And I know that disappoints people because you’d want to ask why he didn’t put a certain character in, or why tripping was invented, or other things that you find wrong with Brawl. Here’s the thing though, I’m happy with how Brawl turned out. Sakurai’s efforts in making the DOJO and the game changed my life. And above all, he spent untold hours directing a title that a community has flocked around. So truthfully, if your first words to him aren’t “Thank you,” you’re just being selfish. Because he directed Melee, too.

Extermination: Why is it that the only time you ever post is to "Thunder-Lock" threads?

Youko: Unfortunately, as a Super Moderator, most of my time on the forums is spent dealing with rule-breakers and people who like to cause trouble. However, most of my socialization on the forums happens in the Back Room, which is a private forum. That probably means that you can’t see those posts I make when you search them, thus your assumption. Basically, as a mod, you see the worst of the forums and you usually prefer to chat with the more reputable members.

Vyse: You like to share a lot of the things in your personal life with the smashboards community. Do you think it just comes from being a part of it (By being a super-mod), through your interactions with people here? Or through your time doing SMYN?

Youko: Very nice question, really made me think…First of all, I’ve never been a fan of the whole “act like someone else, keep your life private” idea online. There’s obviously a sense of trust involved, but once you feel like you belong to an online community, it can be a very valuable asset. I know I’ve discussed things on here that are usually tricky to talk about because I can get a lot of different responses from people who have had varied backgrounds. So while most of it is my integration with the Smashboards community, ignoring SMYN’s involvement would be foolish. I mean, a lot of people look up to me because of “Show Me Your News,” so not only is it enjoyable to personally interact with fans of my work, but I hold myself to a much higher standard online than some others do because of the sense of leadership that I represent. And if I just act like a closeted person with a bunch of secrets in a position like Super Moderator, people wouldn’t feel as welcome spending time on the boards or coming to me with different questions. It can be a little stressful at times, but I’ve been going through a shift in my life of holding myself to a higher standard in all things, and my online life is no exception.

REL38: What's your viewpoint on competitive Smash?

Youko: Competitive Smash is a tricky thing. Part of me wishes I were better at Smash so I could go to more tournaments and actually place…but at the same time, I think I’m already busy enough with school. I feel as if people who don’t understand what a competitive video game community is like should really look into Smash, because we are the best example of what a community should be. The people are amazing and friendly, rivalries are typically mutual and respected, and the level of play is exceptionally high. I mean, in how many other communities would people willingly house those from out-of-state who are attending tournaments? Although, I think people who take competitive Smash TOO seriously need to calm down a bit – we still haven’t reached the mainstream yet and you can’t make an extended career out of professional gaming yet. I love and respect the competitive Smash community, but school and other elements of your life should come FIRST.

Frown: Are you active on any other forum?

Youko: I’m pretty active online as it is, updating my Twitter and Facebook with interesting thoughts and nuggets (http://twitter.com/smynyouko), but as far as forums go, I have stayed loyal to Smashboards and am not really that active in any other community. I guess I’ve started to contribute a little bit to some of my friends at the End of the Week Podcast over at the Nintendo Pals community (http://www.wiipals.net/Forum/) with some blogging and podcast guest-hosting. I think that SWF means so much to me and how it’s changed my life that if I became very devoted to another forum…it’d feel like cheating? No, that doesn’t make too much sense. Short answer: No, Smashboards is totally where it’s at, yo.

Scumfever: Youko, what were your general thoughts on Youmacon? I went but have nothing to compare it to. How does it stack up?

Youko: Youmacon 2009 was my first anime/gaming convention as well, and it was quite the experience! It’s not often you get to meet LittleKuriboh, ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, Team Four Star, Laura Bailey, and all the other amazing guests that were there. Autograph sessions were great – I even got my Street Fighter IV box signed by the voice actors for Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, and Guile. The best part of the convention was the Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged panel, where two new episodes were premiered…plus, it was LittleKuriboh’s first in-person convention appearance in the United States, so it’s pretty cool to say that you were there for that. Youmacon is starting to build its reputation as the top convention in the Midwest – here’s a video I made of my impressions: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx173brfc-s)

Kinzer: What do you like to do in your spare time?

Youko: I could say the typical things like play video games, listen to music, hang out with friends, etc, but that’d be too boring. What makes me unique? I play the guitar like a fiend (been playing for seven years), play some baseball and tennis, and I also watch more TV than most people I know. Actually, that last one sounds trite too, but I actually watch for my studies as well as for my enjoyment, mostly because I’m looking into working in the television industry once I graduate. And before you ask, my favorite TV shows are Pardon the Interruption, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, 30 Rock, Attack of the Show, and Flight of the Conchords. Sports ‘n’ Comedy, all day.

Teran: Favourite Eeveelution?

Youko: All of them kinda have a special place in my heart, actually. Leafeon and Glaceon were good additions and types that needed to be filled on Eevee’s repertoire. Although man, their evolution methods were BIZARRE. Umbreon is a ****** while Espeon is definitely the coolest evolution. Although, really? FRIENDSHIP?! Vaporeon has come in handy for me at times during the actual video games, while I can always respect Jolteon for his high speed stat…and because electric is my favorite Pokémon type. But FLAREON is my favorite Eeveelution! I dunno, it goes back to when I made a Pokémon comic when I was younger – my team consisted of Raichu, Sandslash, Golem, Starmie, Dragonite, and Flareon. I know it’s bizarre – shut up.

Kirbichu: What's your favorite gaming franchise besides Smash?

Youko: The first video game I ever owned was Pokémon Blue for the Game Boy Color, due to a “games will get in the way of school” parental perspective. After playing each incarnation of the classic Pokémon formula, I would definitely have to say that the pocket monster franchise is the one that’s closest to my heart. The tedious nature behind it, the epic adventure, and the strategy behind it all…is actually quite unmatched compared to other franchises. Plus, if you’ve read some of my blogs on Smashboards, you’d already know that I love Pokémon…maybe a little too much. I dunno, I guess Pokémon always reminds me why and where I got my start into the gaming culture.

Vyse: Have you ever travelled outside of America?

Youko: Well, Canada trips aside since I live in Michigan, I actually travelled to Germany my junior year in high school…although I don’t remember that much about the trip. See, long story short, I got a concussion at Schloss Neuschwanstein by thinking there was a shortcut on the way down the mountain, but it was really steep. So I ended up tripping over my running feet, falling down a cliff and hitting the back of my head against a tree. I’d love to travel to Japan and Australia sometime in my life, but I think another trip to Germany would be something I’d appreciate – maybe this time I won’t stupidly hurt myself.

Teran: How would you feel if you got a 98 win streak in Diamond's Battle Tower, and lost to Quick Claw then freeze hax from Blizzard?

Youko: Truthfully, especially in a game like Pokémon, you always have to wonder when you’re due for some bad luck. Think about it – Pokémon video games really boil down to mathematics, anticipation, and LUCK. So as many criticals that may favor you, there are always going to seem to be some of your attacks which miss that will follow suit. Everything will feel like it will balance out. Although I hate to think about what fortune may have been granted to you to be offset with that nasty Quick Claw/freeze combo, with no Aspear Berry. Yeah, some “EFF THIS GAME”s may follow suit, but that’s what Pokémon is all about. It’s not easy 2BA Master.

REL38: What would you say if Nintendo made a remake of the NES version of Ice Climber titled, Ice Climber: Rock the Iceberg?

Youko: For those that didn’t listen to “Show Me Your News” back in its heyday, allow me to fill you in on some things. I despise Ice Climber for the NES – it remains to this day as one of the most miserable gaming experiences I’ve ever had for a few reasons. Also, do you remember the Ice Climber song in Brawl? On December 12, 2007, we were told to “Rock the Iceberg” when Sakurai updated the DOJO with that song. It even caused SamuraiPanda and I to record a song called Iceberg Ball Z, with the help of Cyberlink420: http://smyn.smashnexus.net/media/iceberg_ball_z.mp3 - it’s worth the listen just to hear my wicked Piccolo impression at the end. So what would I say regarding an Ice Climber remake? I’d commend the team on the name selection, but otherwise, it would be something along the lines of EFF THIS GAME. There would be too much to improve on the original and I don’t think they’d be able to do it all.

Lythium: What's your favourite flavour of ice cream?
Youko: Nothing against chocolate, but I prefer vanilla ice cream when it comes to the dull, traditional flavors. If we’re talking more typical varieties sold in stores, I’m a huge Cookies ‘n’ Cream fan. However, I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups more than any candy, so if any ice cream flavor has that in it, that jumps right to the top. Favorite I’ve EVER tried though? It was a rarity – Apple Pie, with bits of apple, crust, and cinnamon in vanilla ice cream. And I’m not talking about Coldstone Creamery – this was actually sold in stores for a limited time. I’ve only had it a couple times and I don’t think they sell it anymore…which is a total shame, because it was FANTASTIC.

Teran: Majora's Mask or OoT?

Youko: Here’s the deal – I’ve played both. I LOVE what Majora’s Mask accomplishes in terms of its narrative and game design. Met with a terrible fate, 72 hours remaining, NPCs that have their own agendas depending on the time of day, and a difficulty that can vary depending on what songs you use. Simply brilliant from a design standpoint! But I HATE THIS GAME. It’s just a personal choice – I have a big issue with continuous timed puzzles. I like to take my time to appreciate the finer things of the game and Majora’s Mask is a game that hardly allows for that kind of time. That’s why it’s OoT all the way for me. I wouldn’t have played it five times otherwise – the story and the progress it made for 3D adventure games are simply legen…wait for it…dary. There’s no getting around that fact.

REL38: What kinds of anime to you enjoy watching, if any?

Youko: I haven’t watched as much anime recently as I used to because of my recent focus on studying television. However, there are definitely some favorite shows in my anime viewing experiences. There’s always Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist and shows like that which most people enjoy. However, I’ll give you a couple severely underrated shows – Hajime no Ippo and Nodame Cantabile. If you’re interested in anime about boxing and a symphony orchestra, respectively, go check those out. My favorite anime of all time though has to go to Yu Yu Hakusho. Not only was it the first anime I remember watching, but it just gets things so RIGHT…whether it’s with characters, battles, etc. Plus, at 112 episodes, it’s not too long, but not too short either.

Kinzer: If you had to pick somewhere else to live, where would that be, and why?

Youko: As much as I love Ann Arbor, I would rather not stay in Michigan when it comes to post-graduation. Since I’m going to be graduating with a Screen Arts and Cultures (basically Film/TV) degree from the University of Michigan, I’m currently hoping to start out in the television industry. Therefore, I’d choose either Los Angeles or New York to live because of work opportunities and I’m more of a big-city kind of person. Maybe Chicago, too? If I had to pick one though, I’d choose LA since I’ve never really traveled past Chi-town when it comes to traveling west in the United States.

Vrael: How long did it take you to think of and then type up the answers to all of these?
Youko: See, I'm naturally a verbose person. It's easy to know the answers because you're drawing on personal experiences. I just really have a lot to say when I'm answering these questions, so it results in a lot of words. Plus, I was a little disappointed at some of the one-word answers in previous interviews. Come on, there's more to this story, let's hear it! Did I mention I've won awards before for extemporaneous speaking? And there you have it, my paragraph about my paragraphs called answers.

Thanks Youko!

INTERVIEW:

Gf2tw: Where do you live?

Frown: You should know since you tracked my IP after weeks of trying to find out.

Airgemini: How's life going for you?

Frown: Life is splendid, as always! And I'll be 18 in March! No more going to bed at 10PM! =D

Frown’s Sister: Who is your favorite sister?

Frown: That would be you or the little one. Although she could kick your *** at any Smash Bros. game any day. In fact, you've never even tried playing them. What the hell are you doing here?

Elder Sister: what would you run for if there were "Forum Awards", other than 'best avatar'?

Frown: A: I haven't really thought of that. Perhaps blogger? I mean, in matters of hours spent making User Blogs, I've got to be among the top 5.

Ishieymoro: What's your favorite form of art?

Frown: Comics. I love the way you actually experience them like movies on paper. My favourite artist would be Don Rosa.

Straked: How do you feel about winning 2 AWYPs?
Frown: I didn't actually win two, I placed second in one of them. But yeah, it's nice I guess. Orange matches my avatar (that's not saying much though).

Dekuu: Why Frown? Why not Smile? Are you not a happy boy? Stop frowning.

Frown: To be honest, the username "Frown" is pretty much completely random. The day I joined, I had previously taken an English vocabulary test (English isn't my first language), and "frown" appeared on it. I thought of picking the name "Pork", but I think it was taken. So I went with that word that had been stuck in my head that particular day.

Straked: Any news on the next Frown Collection?

Frown: Working on it, but it's considerably shorter this time. And since roy_owns has left the boards, there isn't really a thread for me to draw new stuff for. We'll have to see.

Sucumbio: Who are your favorite actor and actress and why?

Frown: Actor would be Johnny Depp because, well, everything he does turns out utterly brilliant. I'd pay to see "JOHNNY DEPP SLEEPS FOR 8 HOURS". Actress: I'm not sure. Perhaps Zooey Deschanel. She's pretty.

Straked: Where would you say you get your inspiration from?

Frown: Watching people fail and trying not to do the same thing.

Vrael: How does it feel to have bought so much premium for other people?

Frown: Having you and a bunch of other people in the Disco Room was totally worth it. Economy wise, I'm kinda broke right now, but I've recently been hired by my dad to make people's PowerPoint presentations look better.

Finalark: How do you feel about how brutally you've been treated in the group story?

Frown: Haha, it's kinda funny. But I stopped reading after the overflow of new characters and subplots.

highfive: Have you ever done something you knew would go wrong but did it anyway?

Frown: Yes. One time, I rode a sled down a huge hill, lying on my stomach. My face looked like Frosty and it took a while for all the snow that had been stuffed underneath my clothing to melt, but the ride was fun as hell.

Ndayday: Mind sharing a passion of yours? Fruit, tape, whatever.

Frown: Dimensional physics. Spices. Maps. Music. Hoodies. British comedy. Etymology. Cereal.

Ingigo-Jeans: What are your feelings on the culinary arts?

Forwn: I can't say I'm an extraordinarily good chef (well, maybe compared to most teenagers today), but I love experimenting with cooking. Through trial and error, I think I've found the perfect spice mix for Spaghetti Bolognese.

Ndayday: What does your diet consist of?
Frown: Breakfast: Cereal. Lunch: During schooldays - sandwiches from home, or whatever is served in the cafeteria. During weekends: Cereal. Dinner: Some meat, some carbohydrates, some veggies. Never any greasy stuff.

Airgemini: Have you ever swam in your life?

Frown: Uh, yeah. Is that unusual? I swam through ice once. It was painful.
Straked: How do you feel about the change from "ike is solid" to "S.O.L.I.D." to "Vrael"?

Frown: "ike is solid" is a horrible username. “S.O.L.I.D.” is hard as hell to type. “Vrael” is just a random fantasy character iirc, but it's okay.

Sucumbio: How is your roof coming along?

Frown: It's fixed! Everything is back to normal, except there are still 50 cardboard boxes filled with stuff that we moved out of the house when there was a fire.

Vrael: If you were an admin, what would be the first thing you would change on SWF?

Frown: Well, if I was an admin with full power, I'd make sure to get the vB update, install a new Friend Finder script, give the senate access to the voting booth, let people submit new skins for the forum, open the Q&A forum, allow more options in social groups etc. Lots of things need to be improved.

Straked: What would you say is your most favourite game series?

Frown: Monkey Island. Characters with deep personalities, clever gameplay and puzzles, excellent music and most importantly, the games are extremely funny from start to finish.

Straked: Will you ever bring back Darf Vadurr Luigi?

Frown: He's in there, just hidden behind a mole, a fro and some gay glasses.

Thanks Frown!

I got the impression from the OP that we could nominate anyone, and then vote based on who was nominated. Sorry for the misunderstanding. :embarrass

Okay then,.
