For those of you who don't already know, you get $100 stipend for Apex 2012 if you win first place for Melee singles. Only WC can be eligible to win the stipend, so if let's say M2K wins, then it goes to the next highest place WC Melee player. The stipend doesn't include the actual 1st place prize so if you win first place in Melee singles you get whatever first place in Melee singles is suppose to get + $100. :)

This gives me an excuse to "mingle with Mccain" while also playing smash.

How delightful.

If you guys do not go to this then you are freaking stupid. This guy is pretty much the lead TO on the West Coast, and HE HAS STRONG CONTACTS WITH SPONSORS - something that would help out smash greatly. I can attest to his reliability because I've been to almost every tourneyplay event he's held. If you care about the future of this game you will go to his tournament

and b4jokes come in no I am not paid to say this or anything lol I am just trying to keep WC smash scene alive and supporting his tournaments is DEFINITELY something you guys want to do

^ what no isnt that place like far away from everything? if anything it should be at a place thats more in the center of the socal melee community, like la or irvine or sd. that way it minimizes the drive for the most people...

SO CAL PEOPLE
I need help with names of places you all have done events at.
I am having trouble finding a venue right now and if I dont get a venue locked up in the next two-three weeks, not sure I can even do this as I should have started Sponsorship drives already, but can not do that until i have a venue, which will also determine live stream capabilities and what games/how many games I can run at this.

Whats needed:
4000-5000 sq ft
Internet with MINIMUM T1, but really Fiber that is 5-20 megs (or cable I guess)

So where have you all done events that may fit this?

I had a lead on a casino and a game companies corp offices, but not hearing back from them quick enough.

Oooh, sounds cool. I'll hopefully make this one. And NBA 2K11?! :D

Please make the venue somewhere in San Diego. Please. I believe that I have heard of some people who know the right venue for this type of tourney.
