For those of you who don't know what a SotG is I'm posting a link at the bottom. It is basically a panel of 4-5 people with a list of topics regarding Melee. They discuss, take viewer questions, blah blah.


The show starts at 7PM Eastern every other Thursday. I figure that would be a time when -most- people are free or could be free, it will take about 2 hrs. The stream will transition directly into a drunken smashfest at my place and everyone is encouraged to hang out as long as they can! I would try to run the production as legitimately as possible, but to make it worth it, we need to be not talking to ourselves. We would need front-page advertisement in the livestream box, community support, and whatever else gets VIEWERS. The show is not PEEF talks about whatever he wants, I primarily do what a host does - organizing, directing questions, facilitating discussion between the pros you really want to hear.

Im high and didnt read the OP b4 i posted. Think this is better run by active tournament goers from each coast, with tink keks or cosmo or CKit or someone else from northern IL for the MW. Viewers questions are for nubs looking for tips to get better or something else that a pro would have had experience with.

God tier idea though.

It will come to fruition if you come watch it! I'm ready and waiting to help participate in this. It's not like we really need to practice doing this, we talk and we throw opinions around with what the host wants to talk about. It's really good.

LOL I'm not really going to be flaming anything. More of a bring up the topic, hear the discussion, bring up counterpoints, move on. Any attention is good attention anyway. =]

Yeah lets do it. I really want it to be advertised on the front page though. I msged Bionic again but hes having trouble coding it I think.

You need more diverse people in your panel imo. State of the Game in sc2 was good because you had a wide variety of people from different backgrounds of sc:bw/sc2 experience.

Day9 was a critical at analyzing and offered a neutral perspective of all 3 races. Tyler/NonY is a strong protoss player from broodwar and also in sc2 that brings to the table well brewed tournament and pro-level gaming experience that takes many years to develop. InControl has also been around the bw scene for many years and can bring to the table good debates and arguments. He also has a pretty good sarcastic humor that definitely gives the viewers laughs once in a while. And Jp...well he just kinda hosts the thing...nothing really noteworthy or interesting about him.

Thus, imo if you want to capture the same thing with melee, people would want to see players like Mango, M2K, Dr.PP, (magus420? i think he'd be an equivalent to day9), (others from MBR that knows alot about the game and am willing to give up time to be on this show every week). They don't have to be permanent panel members. They could also be guests on the show just like how SotG for sc2 have guests.

At anyrate, I think this is a great idea though and would love to see it flourish. Definitely gonna check it out next time it airs.

Windrose, thats pretty much what I'm trying to do, get pros on the show from all areas. However have you ever met M2K? I've hung around him quite a bit and I can promise you he would not be the best for this show hahaha. PP would be great though.

I've only seen M2K on youtube videos from live footages or interviews. He's so similar to Idra in some ways and IdrA shows up on SotG all the time. They even look similar....

But yeah Cactuar on the show would be great! Will you be making VODs/mp3s as well? That would be sick.

I definitely feel a commentator should be in this show. Ie. HMW+ phil or w/e

Commentators know alot about the community and make things interesting as well, they were pretty much born to talk into mics. Kinda like how day9, artosis, or tasteless appears on the show. Exciting personalities make for exciting shows as well.
