Their is a pal version!
Just download the normal balanced brawl and their will be a pal folder in it as well!
I can now, I tested it and everythiing worked out perfectly.

And I agree.
HOW DOES THE PAC CONVERTER WORK ON WINDOWS IN MORE DETAIL NOBODY GETS IT =/
OK i got it to run but as i described it didnt work in the game:

can the PAL pac converter convert the common5.pac from brawl-?
because i tried it and it didnt work (game froze with the converted version)
But here's how you run it:

  1. Install Cygwin (i google searched and downloaded it)
  2. Start a command line (windows + R, "cmd")
  3. navigate to where your PAC files are (using the cd command, there have to be 3 files: the original PAL file (<palname>palz.pac) the original NTSC file (<palname>usz.pac) and the modded NTSC file (<palname>.pac)
  4. type in the cmd: <cygwin path>\bin\bash (for example C:\cygwin\bin\bash)
  5. you should be in the cygwin command line now
  6. you can start the pac converter by typing ./BatchPacConvert.sh (it has to be in the same folder as the pac files)

i hope you get it to work...i have not tested converting other files than common5 maybe it works with converting for example the player pacs from brawl+/- (for example FitCaptain.pac)


so now maybe someone could also answer my question ;)
and could someone please post a link to a text file with all codes from brawl+? i just cant find it. and i have to remove the file patch code to use brawl+ with riivolution. or is there maybe a brawl+ PAL riivolution GCT file?

Beause I downloaded the brawl from their site and their was only the US version =/
Looked into the files I DLed and still nothing refering to PAL, maybe I'm bad at searching.

@ Volcanic Doomfire: thanks for your concern, I tried what you said but it's the same thing. There is no PAL folder in their files..

Anyway I'm planning on porting every BBrawl fighter .pacs to PAL (meaning with sounds) when I have the time. It's not hard but it take a good amount of time.

Yeah thats what the pac converter does.
Actually, I think I have an older version with all the changes for pal in a code file.. O.o
But it had all the changes lol.

Here's a litte summary about things that we PAL users need:
1.A code that allows us to use THP file(Brawl video files for replacing the sse scenes or the trailers in the game with any video you want.Theres a thread about it here on smashboards)
2.CSS alloy code and also to use warioman giga bowser and select zelda seperated from sheik

Oh and here a little guide(actually its not guide but..)about how to make ''Hacked Stage Model .pacs'' work for PAL:
1.The most ported stages are using .rels that have to be in a module folder that its in the pf folder.These .rel files are only there to let you replace the stages pac file with any stage you want(many hackers are doing this because they dont have that much in wotk in brawlbox).The most .rels are over some stages from the stage expansion roster.The stages from it are all sse stages which are using the pac names STGCUSTOM1 etc.(up to 9).There is a .rel converter which lets you convert NTSCU .rels to PAL .rels.
2. Stage hack that arent working but dont use a .rel file can be made working if you decrease the size of the stage in brawlbox.(some stages that are using just hacked textures may freeze because they have texture errors that only working with the File Patch Code 3.5.1 what you can do there is just to delete some textures from the stage but hacked stage models are better)

I try'd. The only thing I get is to thet stupid things of Cygwin with like a thousand subfolders and in there there are zip archive things but I don't get the pac converter to work or anything. ............
And it can't convert the Common5.pac, its supposed to convert fighter pacs. The only thing it converts are the sound effect so that we at least have sounds with our pacs.

Good to hear that the PAL release is near :chuckle:

And for those codes I don't think that BBrawl players (me included) would mind not having them. As we are mainly drawn to this version for the balance of characters.
Anyway you're doing an Amazing(pun intended) job on this, it's nice to have people caring for us, PAL users. ^^

It depends on your definition of cosmetic. They don't directly alter gameplay, but they matter for gameplay. The first two allow button combination to select sub-stages on Spear Pillar and Shadow Moses Island (Dialga form of Spear Pillar is a recommended counterpick stage in Bbrawl). The third one is the newer version of the custom stage select screen code which is nice for a few reasons but primarily because it's a clean way to make WiFi Waiting Room selectable in all modes, not just versus. The last one is actually mostly irrelevant other than that listening to that very short loop music that's normally there is trying on anyone's patience. Missing these codes just, for practical reasons, means PAL is missing out on two stages NTSC has. It's only one stage if the PAL players are patient enough to try over and over on Spear Pillar until the desired form comes up. It's no showstopper, but of course, it would be nice for everyone to be on the same page. I also don't know what happens when NTSC and PAL Bbrawl play each other on WiFi, but this being different makes me think instability could easily be introduced.

Can someone re-upload the common3 and common5 PAL files? The links are dead. And,could someone tell me why every time i try to load a custom stage with riivolution the stage or doesn't load, or the game freezes? I tried with all shorts of stages,but every time the same thing happens.It works fine without riivolution, but i also want custom music. Any ideas what to do?

hey guys...i've had some success with the pac converter.
i've converted the fighter pacs from brawl minus for PAL and they are working which means character sounds work. but only the normal ones for example isnt captain falcon supposed to say something when his knee hits? well he doesnt. but at least all the other sounds work now again.
i can upload these files if someone wants them.

The converter does not convert sound effects that are added, such as the "yes" on falcon's knee in B-. In order for those to be added in you would need to do it by hand, which wouldn't take *that* long because there is only a couple of added sfx in B-.

For this you need 2 things: the Pal FItcaptain you already converted and smash attack.

Steps

(1) open the pal FitCaptain and check the subactions where the "yes" sfx is played

(2) take the SFX number

(3) go to the subaction you wish to modify (F-air)

(4) change the non working sfx to the one you took in step (2)

(5) save and put the fitcaptain in /fighter/captain

(6) load Brawl

(7) F-air someone

(8) ???

(9) Profit

Yeah thats gonna be great ...
Now we just find a way to use the new CSS from brawl minus with being able to select the bottom characters (or is there already a way?)

yeah i need the pal common 3 again,i've searched in the hosted pal partition, but it seems that the file is missing

I'm sorry, I don't know, but it looks like it contains item and pokemon data (from the pokeball item i guess).
