TGMTSBCO was indeed 100+ good catch! Juggleguy's list was wrong he should update that; he didnt include TGMTSBCO. He had UCLA V as the 4th 100+ he listed. The new list would be:

2004: 2 (TG6, Game Over)
2005: 6 (FC3, Getting Schooled 2, MLG DC, MLG SF, BOMB 4, MOAST 3)
2006: 10 (MLG New York Opener, MLG Dallas, MLG Anaheim, MLG Chicago, MLG Orlando, MLG New York Playoffs, FC6, OC2, SMYM 6, Gauntlet)
2007: 12 (OC3, FC-Diamond, Cataclysm, EVO South, EVO West, EVO World, Smash Royale III, Innsomnia, Pound 2, SCC, VLS, UCLA IV)
2008: 5 (Pound 3, UCLA V, TGMTSBCO, ESA 2, Event 52)
2009: 9 (SMYM 9, Revival of Melee, Mango Juice, ESA 3, Genesis, SMYM 10, TSL 4, Pat's House, RoM 2)
2010: 6 (Pound 4, SMYM 11, APEX 2010, SNY 1, RoM 3, DGDTJ)
2011: 8

Add any more if you can remember it; I'm sure Juggleguy missed a few more. I'd also be interested in ordering each of these by attendants...
I did miss TGMTSBCO. I'm embarrassed to admit that I somehow hadn't even heard of that tourney until now. I was forced to Google the acronym in order to find the results thread and figure out what it stood for, lol. Looks like it was a huge tourney, good stuff guys.

2011 is definitely going to be an increase over 2010 in terms of 100+ events. We've already matched last year's total, with RoM 4 still coming up. I think we were lucky to have several events of just over 100 entrants this year, compared to 2010 when we had a ton of events that brought in 80-90.

With respect to the Tipped Off 7 organizers, I wouldn't expect it to break 100 entrants, Crimson. I don't think any previous Tipped Off event has broken 100, and I don't really see a compelling reason why this one would be the first to do it. Should still be a great tourney though.

Tipped Off 6 had 89 entrants. I think its possible for 7 to crack 100; the venue can definitely fit it. Though I will admit that 6 might have been a best case scenario; there were 2 cars from MD/VA (a 13 hour drive one way), Texas entrants (wobbles, etc), and full NC representation. Florida didn't show like it could have, but other than that it was pretty much ideal.

Its sandwiched between RoM and APEX, and it was announced late, but I think a lot of people reaaally love the Tipped Off series, and are willing to travel to show support. I'd expect between 65 and 110 entrants, so 100+ is definitely on the high end of that spectrum, but definitely possible.

Ros 3 back in 07 (Sweden) had a bit more than 140 entrants.

So I guess 07 was a kinda good year for smash :p
Im nor sure but I think Ros 1 in 05 also had around 100 entrants but im not 100% sure.

Another good catch! RoS4 had 132 entrants

According to this (not sure how accurate) RoS3 only had 90 entrants though. It also states that RoS3 was the biggest Euro tournament to date, so I doubt RoS1 or 2 managed to crack 100. I can't seem to find the official results pages for those tournaments though. If anyone knows more (Amsah, Nihonjin, Aldwyn namesearch plz) that'd be great.

updated list:
The Big Melee Events (100+ attendees)

-2004: 2 | TG6, GO
-2005: 6 | FC3, GS2, MLG DC, MLG SF, BOMB 4, MOAST 3
-2006: 10 | MLG New York Opener, MLG Dallas, MLG Anaheim, MLG Chicago, MLG Orlando, MLG New York Playoffs (200+!), FC6 (200+!), OC2, SMYM 6, Gauntlet
-2007: 13 | OC3 (200+!), FC-Diamond (200+!), Cataclysm, EVO South, EVO West, EVO World (200+!), Smash Royale III, Renaissance of Smash 4, Innsomnia, Pound 2 (200+!), SCC (200+!), VLS, UCLA IV
-2008: 5 | Pound 3 (200+!), UCLA V, TGMTSBCO, ESA 2 (200+!), Event 52
-2009: 9 | SMYM 9, Revival of Melee, Mango Juice, ESA 3, Genesis (200+!), SMYM 10, TSL 4, Pat's House, RoM 2
-2010: 6 | Pound 4 (300+!), SMYM 11, APEX 2010 (200+!), SNY 1, RoM 3, DGDTJ
-2011: 8 | Pound V (200+!), Wintergamesfest 2011, SMYM 12, B.E.A.S.T 1, Genesis 2 (200+!), B.E.A.S.T 2, The Big House, RoM4

2007 was so god damn absurd. I hope we get back to that level one day (next year?!).

I think it's because most of pre-2007 stuff on the boards is archived?
They should consider making at least the results board accessible again.

The JackGarden Tournament should be on that list. I'm not sure what year it was from though.

I've been looking for an attendence number for Jack Garden (2005) before, but I can't find anything.

Thanks for the link, Crimson. That's pretty good.
