A good doubles partner for Link?

I'd say ether Ike or Marth. Pit isn't bad ether. Of course I'm only doing a swordmen theme here.

Marth: He covers speed and racking up damage.

IkE: He covers finishers and priority.

Pit: He covers the air while Link domains the ground.


Of course I'm just throwing any piece of trash out the window, but I enjoy it.

I wouldn't mind teaming with anyone who could give me a little love tap if I need one to recover.

Link + TL.
You have 2 kinds of arrows, 2 kinds of boomerangs and some bombs. That's 5 projectiles at your disposal. You'll be unstoppable!!!
Oh wait, characters with reflectors...

Well, I figure maybe TL can set up a wall of projectiles while Link handles the closer side of combat, or keep them away with Zair or AAA jabs. Then once they're at the appropriate damage, Link switches out and projectile spams while TL finishes them with fresh smashes.

For some reason I feel like Dedede would be good with Link. In addition to being great by himself, Good range, priority, finishers, and RECOVERY would really balance out Link's play. Or maybe like lilmister said.. Sonic because of his speed. Merge that with Link's projectiles and various mindgame tactics... and the enemy will be losing stock before they realize what's going on.

I've teamed before in friendlies rather well with Ike. Also, Ganon is another good partner. Possibly Snake too.

the idea of TL en Link wasn't soo bad, 2 bombs, enemy need to dodge 2 projectiles at the same time... !

Also I heard Zelda is good too since her Up smash pretty much time to give you a free Dair or any other combo

Well, in general characteristics a perfect doubles partner for Link should:
-Be able to give Link a love tap for recovery's sake and not die themselves
-Be able to set up combos for Link to put in a finisher
-Be able to do off-stage finishes
-Have excellent projectiles in combination with Link's
-Good aerial game

Mostly just a summary of what you guys have said. But in that case, character like Pit, Kirby, Toon Link, Samus and Rob would make my personal list.
Although Ike is a good member of any team for his potential in dealing deathblows out of his partner's combos, this particular ability is diminished with Link because of Link's speed and his combo ability (aka the lack thereof). Also, both characters have bad recovery, so once the opposing team has respawned it would become rather easy for them to knock both already-damaged characters Link and Ike off the edge for an easy edgeguard KO.

Whoever is alright with me I guess. Though a Zelda and Link team is my personal preference and it wouldn't matter which one I play hehe. But it's mostly cause they are awesome XD. Also i'm sure Din's can save him if it doesn't kill him lol.
