Offensive elements:

- Damage
How many % does the attack deal?

- Knockback
How far does the opponent fly? Is the attack good for additional hits or for knocking the opponent off the stage?

- Size of hitbox
What is the range of the attack?

- Number of hits
How many times does the attack hit?

- Angle of knockback
Spike, star KO or horizontal killer?

- Hitstun
How many frames of immobility for the opponent does the move provide?

- Priority
If two moves hit at the same time, which one connects? Do the atttacks clank? Do both hit?

- Startup lag
How many frames before the attack starts?

- Hitbox duration
How many frames does the attack last?

- Ending lag
How many frames before the player can use another move?

- Disjointed yes/no
Are the hitbox and the hurtbox of the character the same during an attack?

- Is a projectile yes/no
Does the attack go further than the character's model?

- Movement of user
How far does the attack change the position of the user? For example, Wolf likes to skip a few meters to the left or right during his fsmash.

- Movement of opponent
Does the attack change the momentum of the opponent? Examples are G&W's uair and Mario's down B.

- Shieldstun
For how long is the opponent forced to stay immobile if the attack hits his shield?

- Opponent falls to the ground yes/no
Does the move cause the opponent to fall to the ground at a certain %?

- Sweetspot/sourspot
Does the move deal more damage after a certain time after the hitbox starts?

- Changed angle
Can the tilt or smash be angled up and down in order to change the effect of the attack?

- Stance
Does the attack animation make the character dodge slightly? Examples are Wolf's dsmash and Yosgi's fsmash.

Defensive elements:

Reflects yes/no
Does the move refelct incoming projectiles?

Counters yes/no
Does the move instantly punish your opponent's attack?

Provides super amror yes/no

Does the move make the user temporarily resistant to any knockback?

Provides juggernaut frames yes/no
Does the move make the user temporarily resistant to minor knockback ?

Recovery elements:

- Distance
How far does the recovery move the character?

- Angle
In what direction does the recovery move go? How many directions can the user choose?

- Free fall yes/no
Is the user capable of performing other moves after the recovery move has ended?

- Ledge grab range
From how far can the character grab the ledge during the recovery move? Is it possible at all?

- DI
How well does the a change the momentum? Can the move stop the character's movement entirely?

Minor elements:

- Can be partially charged
Can the move be charged in small intervals?

- Hurts user yes/no
Can the attack deal damage or knockback to the one who performed it?

- Automatic charge
Will the move grow more powerful over time?

- Transformation
Does the move turn the character into another character?

- Additional shield pressure
Does the move have extra ability to break shields?

- Electricity yes/no
This

- Freeze yes/no
Does the opponent get stuck inside an ice cube for a short period of time.?

- Poison yes/no
Only applies to Olimar's white Pikmin. Deals additional damage while stuck to the opponent.

- Water/fire/leaf yes/no

Do the PT's Pokémon or Olimar's red Pikmin have resistance to certain attacks?

- Can be B-reversed yes/no

Does the special attack allow the user to choose which way he wants to turn?

- Trips the opponent yes/no

Does the attack make the opponent trip? Examples are Pikachu's jab and Diddy's down B.

- Is an item yes/no
Can the projectile be picked up and used by the opponent?

- Makes the opponent turn the other way yes/no

Very minor element, yes.

- Absorbs energy projectiles yes/no
The PK boys do this. Oh, and G&W too.

- Special attack can be used in the air yes/no
Try to slap the ground or pull something out of it while you can't reach it. I dare you to.

- Buries the opponent yes/no
Does the move make the character end up in a pile of dirt?

- Puts flower on opponent's head yes/no
This element has changed the metagame of Brawl entirely.

- Goes through Link's and Toon Link's shields yes/no
That's why Link is so good.

I'm sure I forgot a lot of things, make sure to remind me if so.

How about something like charging attacks. And then you can different types of charges; Cancelable charge (DKs Giant Punch, Samus Charge etc) or automatic charge (Warios Fart).

Other than that, very comprehensive list man. good job :)

EDIT: What about 'disjointed hitbox' too.

And can you angle the move upward or downward as some fsmashes and ftilts do.

Although now I see your example makes sense. He has the partially charged, but not the automatic charge. (Wario's fart) which you are not under control, except for when releasing it.

I'm sure SA can fall under:

But was forgotten. (Technically you are invincible since you cannot be killed. However you do take damag)

Also whether a move has two different hitboxes at the same time, like a sweetspot and sourspot. Also if there's a lasting hitbox.

I apologize for not making myself clear. I meant a lasting hitbox that changes in damage and knockback, like Luigi's nair.

That should not have been as funny as it was.


Also, something to add- does the attack change the user's hurtbox in any way? For example, ROB's f-tilt extends his own hurtbox slightly forward. You could be standing still and not get hit by an attack, but then ftilt during the same exact attack and you would get hit. Another example: Wolf's Dsmash. He ducks at one point, so some attacks will miss. I feel this deserves it own little line separate from "Does it move the character" or whatever you had, mainly because these hurtbox movements are only temporary and you end up in the same place you started in afterwards.

And to a certain extent laser lock.
Chaingrab goes under "knockback". Small knockback means easier chaingrabs.

Change of hurtbox goes under range, added the stance element.

How about "Goes through shield" or "ignores shield"? (NOT "shield pokes") but COMPLETELY ignores shield, no matter what.

Grabs, Ganon's Side-B, Bowser's Side-B, Falcon's Up-B (IIRC), Ganon's up-B (IIRC), Diddy Kong's Bananas can IIRC if they are under you.

I know your list and my list are different. We cover two separate aspects of brawl.
