Smash Wii U Amazon showing a December 31st Release date

Amazon says the game will be released on December 31st:

I'm not taking this release date very seriously though. Why would Nintendo be dumb enough to release the game right AFTER Christmas?

December 31st is the go-to date for a game without a date announced. Just a placeholder. Think of it as a "please change this when the date is announced" for the people who edit the store pages.

November 21st is basically confirmed. They already said they wanted the game out before Black Friday for the holidays.
