An attempt to tier Brawl's music...

As I have NOTHING better to do (Saturday afternoons, go figure), I want to create a tier list for all of the music in the Brawl sound test plus the K.K. Slider songs. Of course, I have to have Smashboards' input on individual songs because I have only adequate musical taste :urg:. I guess an eight tier system should suffice.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band tier

I need similar opinions from a number of people to know where to place a song. I placed my placement on the first three songs on the music tourney thread.

(If you think this thread is stupid, realize it is just for fun (it is in the general Brawl discussion after all). The search function does not work for me so if there is a thread like this already, please close this one promptly.)

CHANGES:
-25mm to bottom tier (Hey it has the benefit of Nostalgia)
-Power-Hungry Fool to High-Mid (It is good music, but horrible Battle Music)
-Mona Pizza to mid (I kinda like the song. Probably won't go above mid though)
-Icicle Mountain to RC tier (Bad battle music and bad music in general)
-Mute City to GH tier (Shotgun Kiss is GH tier and Mute City was voted better than it)
-Fire Field to upper tier (if each repetition was 15-30 seconds longer, it would be in GH tier)
-Live & Learn for High (Most of Sonic Adventure 2's music was good along with the game)
-Luigi's Mansion for GH tier (Completely escaped my mind)
-Fountain of Dreams for GH tier (Without a doubt best music in Melee)

Wow! Somebody else likes Ai no Uta? I will put Ai no Uta in low-mid for now. I'll wait for more comments to find out where to place the others.

And HOW could I forget Gourmet Race. Silly me :chuckle:.

Actually, put the last one in repetitive crap tier.

Frozen Hillside is Middle.

Meta Knight's Revenge, Checker Knights, Dragoon's Song (Forgot the name.), OoT Medley, Poke Floats, and Battle For Storm Hill for Upper.

And Power Hungry Fool and Shin Onigashima for low Upper.

You can give your opinion on all the in-game music you want, not just a select few.

That is nothing compared to the EXTREMELY overheard Final Destination theme. Both are good though.



I updated the list with all of your input (with a little bit of mine). Post your opinions on any of the Brawl songs that you want or on the song placement in the list.

To be honest, most games in general do not deserve to be tiered.

Brawl is one of those games.

Don't get pissed, I was kidding.

But seriously, I don't hear many good songs from the couple times I've played Brawl.

Personally, I like it, but that's just my opinion. The Delfino Plaza Themes are also good, as is the Song of Storms.
(Note that the song I've given you all a link to is much more Brawl-worthy in the middle and very end.)

Final Destination(the new one obviously) for Guitar Hero/Rock Band tier! Or at least upper tier.
Live & Learn GH tier
Also Mona's Pizza (JP) should be high mid not low mid.
Sonic Boom lowmid tier.

Pretty much all of the most iconic of the Kirby Brawl songs not named Gourmet Race were somewhat dumbed down imo.

It is good music, but unfortunately it is not music to fight to. That is why I cannot rate it too high.

The musical selection for Brawl is balanced to the point that Enviromental Noises can be on a individuals person's top tier about 30% as much of the time as Gourmet Race :laugh:.

I'm just mad because when I watch tournament videos on Youtube, the fights are always using the same Top 4 songs on the tier and it's boring. If they had true taste in music (i.e. without advanced equipment like synths) then could choose the low tier songs.
