MELEE SINGLES POOLS
Note: Wes was moved from C5 to B4, Vist from D7 to C2, and Redd from A7 to C5. Bracket images and info below are currently outdated and do not reflect these changes.

Melee Pool A1: Mew2King vs (V3ctorman vs Toasty)
Expected top 2: Mew2king, and then most likely V3ctorman.

Melee Pool A2: Darkatma vs (MacD vs (QERB vs Thorn))
Expected top 2: Two of MacD, Darkatma, and Thorn; it's a pretty brutal pool. It also includes Pikalex, Crimsonblur, and Mofat.

Melee Pool A3: Silent Wolf vs Bardull, (Marc vs Ben Grimm) vs Codi
Expected top 2: Silent Wolf almost certainly has this, and it's a toss-up among the rest.

Melee Pool A4: (Tope vs Duck) vs Lucky
Expected top 2: Tope and Lucky, unless Duck is against and beats Lucky in Losers'. Tope vs Duck looks rough for Duck, being a Samus main.

Melee Pool A5: Moon vs (Little England vs Homemadewaffles)
Expected top 2: Moon and Little England, but HMW and also T Webb could possibly survive.

Melee Pool A6: S2J vs Spawn, Swedish Delight vs Jolteon
Expected top 2: S2J for Winners', and probably Swedish Delight. Tough pool however, and good Sheiks could stop S2J, perhaps even eliminate him in some potentially dramatic upsets. Realistically, S2J should be winning.

Melee Pool A7: Colbol vs Tai, Ciz vs Alan
Expected top 2: Colbol most likely for 1st, but the rest are really close. Soul and Slox are also pretty good. Tough pool.

Melee Pool A8: (Fly Amanita vs Knut) vs Cort
Expected top 2: Fly Amanita, but Cort being a Peach player could cause an upset. Otherwise, it's a pretty easy pool.

Melee Pool B1: Dr. PeePee vs Germ, Mattdotzeb vs Sol
Expected top 2: Dr. PeePee for 1st, and then one of the others. This pool also includes Ryobeat and Wenbobular.

Melee Pool B2: MT vs Neutroni, Nintendude vs OkamiBW
Expected top 2: Most likely Nintendude and OkamiBW, but MT and Neutroni could cause minor upsets. Also, potential Link dittos with Stro vs Internet Explorer.

Melee Pool B3: PewPewU vs Cactuar
Expected top 2: Winner and loser of above. This pool also includes Excel Zero, GIMR, Keitaro and the famous Siglemic! They'll all almost certainly be eliminated though.

Melee Pool B4: DoH vs Scar
Expected top 2: Winner and loser of above. This pool also includes RubyVixen and Doll.

Melee Pool B5: Fiction vs Fuzzyness
Expected top 2: Winner and loser of above. This pool also includes A Nub, Animal, Chain-Ace, KJH, Lanceinthepants, and Aisengobay, but I don't think they can beat Fiction and Fuzzyness.

Melee Pool B6: Tirno vs (Velocity vs 4%), Nando vs Juggleguy
Expected top 2: Uhh, hard to say. I'd guess two of Tirno, 4%, and Nando. One of the easier pools for sure.

Melee Pool B7: Hugs vs Scythe, vs Reno vs Hyuga
Expected top 2: The ordering of these players can be any, so it's a hard call. Loki is also in this pool. Very exciting!

Melee Pool B8: Westballz vs (StriCNYN3 vs Uuaa)
Expected top 2: Westballz and StriCNYN3 for a sick Falco ditto! I'd say winner of this set, but Uuaa also has a shot, most likely for the Losers' slot vs loser of the Falcos. Lee Martin is also in this pool.

Melee Pool C1: Mango vs (KoreanDJ vs Flow)
Expected top 2: Most likely Mango and KoreanDJ.

Melee Pool C2: Darc vs Vish
Expected top 2: Most likely Darc and then Vish. Gahtzu and The Doug are also in this pool for a shot against (most likely) Vish.

Melee Pool C3: Darrell vs (Leffen vs Alukard)
Expected top 2: Probably Leffen, but it depends entirely on how good he is vs Samus. Darrell probably for 2nd.

Melee Pool C4: Bladewise vs ESAM
Expected top 2: Bladewise, and then ESAM. Other players include FullMetal, PapaDav3, Mikehaze, and Copycat.

Melee Pool C5: So-Ten vs (Wes vs Dazwa)
Expected top 2: Two of the three, I'd guess So-Ten and Dazwa.

Melee Pool C6: (Chillin vs Nakamaru) vs Tafokints
Expected top 2: Probably Chillin and Tafokints. I don't think Nakamaru can survive, and Chillin vs Tafokints should be a really good set.

Melee Pool C7: Axe vs Aniolas, Wizzrobe vs Carroll
Expected top 2: Axe and Wizzrobe are most likely to make it, but Aniolas being a Sheik player could possibly cause upsets against them. That said, I think he's outclassed comparatively, but it does add an interesting spark to the pool.

Melee Pool C8: aMSa vs Green Ranger, Chudat vs KevinM
Expected top 2: Yoshi vs DK anyone!? That said, I don't see fan-favorite winning due Chudat's Ice Climbers, unless KevinM were to send him to Losers'. Very tough and interesting pool, but I'd guess Chudat for 1st and aMSa for 2nd.

Melee Pool D1: Soft vs (D1 vs (NamiNami vs Rat)), Hax vs Vudujin
Expected top 2: (D1 in pool D1 hurr) Hax should win, but the other FIVE players can all potentially get 2nd. Brutal pool for them all.

Melee Pool D2: DJ Nintendo vs (Kounotori vs ROFL)
Expected top 2: Two of the above three, making for an entertaining and tough pool. I think DJ vs Kou would be a really interesting set to see! This pool also has PikaPika and Boss.

Melee Pool D3: Plup vs J666, Toph vs Laijin
Expected top 2: Plup for 1st, and Toph for 2nd, but it's a toss-up. Pretty hard pool.

Melee Pool D4: Hungrybox vs (Mundungu vs Zoap), Cyrain vs DEHF
Expected top 2: Hungrybox for 1st, and then it's a tough call for 2nd. Lots of good players, but I'd guess DEHF. One of the hardest pools.

Melee Pool D5: Shroomed vs (Frootloop vs Phish-it), Swift
Expected top 2: Shroomed, and then a really tough fight to survive in Losers'. Rough pool.

Melee Pool D6: PL vs Milkman, Zhu vs G$
Expected top 2: Zhu, and then one of the others. Lots of potential for good matches!

Melee Pool D7: SFAT vs Pi, (Kage vs WarriorKnight) vs Vist
Expected top 2: Probably SFAT and Kage, but Vist is also a solid contender, and Pi and WarriorKnight are also both good players. Definitely not an easy pool at all. Note: Pi is aliased as "Collusion".

Melee Pool D8: Ice vs Eggm
Expected top 2: Winner and loser of above. Ice having lost at EVO to another technical Fox, Silent Wolf, makes this much closer, at least as we anticipate.

SMASH 64 POOLS

Smash 64 Pool 1: Isai, Han Solo, Ybombb, Merihim, Dext3r
Expected matches: Isai vs Han Solo, and (Ybombb vs Merihim) vs Dext3r
Expected top 2: Isai, and most likely Merihim, but it's a pretty stacked pool.

Smash 64 Pool 2: Ruoka Dancho, Killer, Sheermadness, Mariguas, M3gavo1t, Sensei
Expected matches: (Ruoka Dancho vs Killer) vs Sheermadness, and (Mariguas vs M3gavo1t) vs (Sensei vs Ceasar)
Expected top 2: Probably Ruoka and Sensei, but the whole pool is very tough.

Smash 64 Pool 3: Moyashi, Fireblaster, Nintendude, JaimeHR, Kerokeroppi, Near
Expected matches: Moyashi vs (Fireblaster vs Nintendude), and JaimeHR vs (Kerokeroppi vs Near)
Expected top 2: Moyashi and JaimeHR, possibly one of the others.

Smash 64 Pool 4: Superboomfan, Justin Wong (lol), Star King, Banze, Kefit, Wizzrobe, Firo
Expected matches: (Superboomfan vs Star King) vs Banze, (Kefit vs Wizzrobe) vs Firo
Expected top 2: Superboom and probably Kefit.

Expected top 8 Winners': Isai, Ruoka/Sensei, Moyashi/JaimeHR, Superboomfan
Expected top 8 Losers': Merihim, Ruoka/Sensei, Moyashi/JaimeHR, Kefit

PRE-APEX AND MORE INFORMATION

INTRO

Apex 2014 returns as the premiere Smash tournament in the world! With the momentum from EVO, the documentary, and quite possibly the best year Melee has ever seen, Apex will have 619 Melee entrants, nearly doubling last year's, and will also have a whopping 395 Project M entrants, which outnumbers the unmodded Brawl at 355! Finally, this will also be one of, if not THE largest tournament for the original at a very large 157 Smash 64 entrants! There will be tons of amazing matches, many exciting upsets, lots of clashes of top players, and only the very, very best will survive to top 8!

This thread is by the people at home for the people at home! Any updates that are happening at the tournament, big matches about to come on stream, and any interesting news will all be posted here! So for those that want a place to spill the hype out of their guts, read what's happening if you're at work, or if you want to ask any questions, you're in the right place!

I'll be posting updates to anything that happens in Melee, and will include Project M and Smash 64 as best I can. This thread is not for Brawl, Pokemon, or FGC games, unless something extraordinary happens in any of them. For Brawl players looking for a similar thread, the official Apex 2013 thread is often the best place to go! For those also following along with Melee, Project M, and/or Smash 64, feel free to help out and post anything that happens too! It's always highly appreciated!

Likewise, feel free to post predictions for the tournaments, individual pools, or upcoming matches!

SCHEDULE

MELEE SINGLES

Based purely off numbers, Melee Singles is the big event for Apex at a colossal 600+ entrants, featuring all of the best from all over the world! Melee pools will be played FGC style, having 32 bracket pools, each featuring 20 or so players, with only 2 making it to round 2 per pool! Also, unlike last year, players sent to Losers' will not be returned to Winners' after surviving their pool! With this cutthroat tournament format, only the very best will make it out, guaranteeing fantastic matches in round 2 and beyond!

Some of the highest skilled players entering Melee singles includes but not limited to:

aMSa, Axe, Bladewise, Cactuar, Chillin, Chudat, Colbol, Cyrain, Darc, Darkatma, Darrell, DJ Nintendo, Dr. PeePee, Eggm, Fiction, Fly Amanita, Fuzzyness, Hax, Hugs, Hungrybox, Ice, Kage the Warrior, KoreanDJ, Leffen, Lucky, MacD, Mango, Mew2King, Moon, Nintendude, PewPewU, Plup, S2J, Scar, SFAT, Shroomed, Silent Wolf, StriCNYN3, Tope, Westballz, Zhu

For the entire listing of entrants, see here: https://www.apex-series.com/registration/viewentrants.php

Don't forget that with so many entrants, there are LOTS of hidden bosses too! There are so many powerful players that just don't have top level tournament results, but have taken out good players in the past! Expect upsets!

Good and/or notable players not entering Melee singles includes but not limited to:

Abate, Armada, Bam, Blunted Object, Darkrain, DaShizWiz, Diakonos, Eddy Mexico, Gucci, IB, Javi, Jman, Kels, Ken, KirbyKaze, Lord, Lovage, Lucien, Overtriforce, Pikachad, SilentSpectre, Sion, Strawhat Dahean, Taj, Thorn, Unknown522, Vanz, Vwins, Weon-X, Wobbles, Zoso

Who will come to take the throne in Armada's retirement and Mango's half-retirement? Mew2King has been on a long, dominant streak, but there haven't been any international events since it started. Dr. PeePee most recently 6-1'd Hungrybox, making him look like one of the next best contenders, but with the sheer amount of players, the top spot is up for grabs!

Will the popular Yoshi main, aMSa, perform well again in his sophomore appearance in North America? Or is the hype overrating him? Regardless, most will agree that he is technically capable of all of Yoshi's unique abilities, but we'll have to see just how good he is!

There's a lot of word that Hax, the world's best Falcon main, will be going mostly if not entirely Fox this tournament! Will he do so, how will this affect his performance, and can he continue his standard of top 8 at almost every international by making this decision?

After doing relatively poorly at the last two Apexs, Ice has since gone as a pure Sheik main, getting him 7th at EVO by defeating Hax, Lucien, Zhu, DEHF, Pikachad, and more, as well as dominating the European scene in Armada's absense! How well will he perform here, and can he reach top 8 again?

With so many players all over the world, a huge variety of characters at the highest levels, and so many stories, Apex 2014 will be an absolutely fantastic event for Melee history!

MELEE DOUBLES

While singles will always have the spotlight, there are many excellent teams for Apex 2014, whether it's two top-level players teaming together, or a pair that have extremely good synergy, Melee doubles will also be a spectacular show!

Some of the highest skilled and/or notable teams includes but not limited to:

Alukard/G$, aMSa/V3ctorman, Aniolas/DoH, Armada/Ice, Axe/Kage the Warrior, Cactuar/Reno, Chillin/Chudat, Cyrain/Tope, Darc/Zhu, Darkatma/Darrell, DJ Nintendo/Moon, Dr. PeePee/Leffen, Fiction/MacD, Fuzzyness/Jolteon, Hax/Mew2King, Hungrybox/Plup, Lucky/Mango, NamiNami/Neutroni, PewPewU/SFAT, QERB/Swedish Delight, ROFL/Tafokints, S2J/Shroomed, Silent Wolf/Toph, Tai/Taj

For the entire listing of teams, see here: https://www.apex-series.com/registration/meleeteammates.php

There are a lot of interesting combinations here! Armada's UGS partner and brother, Aniolas, teaming with perhaps the 2nd best Peach in teams, DoH! With two excellent teams players together for the first time, how will they perform? Darc and Zhu is also a really exciting team with an elite level spacie player, with a resting machine! How will Mew2King and Hax work together, especially if Hax also plays Fox in doubles? And for a reappearance, Dr. PeePee and Leffen will be teaming together, after placing 2nd only to Armada and Ice at Melee Grande!

Other exciting teams includes the double Yoshis, aMSa and V3ctorman! QERB with his fantastic G&W will be with a rising star, Swedish Delight! And two of the finest Finnish players, NamiNami and Neutroni will be seeing how they fare against North America!

But perhaps at least as hype and popularity goes, the most anticipated team to see is Axe and Kage re-teaming again since FC! Although placing 3rd at that tournament, losing in Winners' finals to Mango and DoH, they destroyed everyone at Zenith 2011! Even if not for their results, seeing a wacky duo of middle-tiered characters, Ganon and Pikachu, will be awesome!

PROJECT M

Where to even start! With the huge popularity of version 3.0, there are players from all games joining in for the largest PM tournament of all time! In fact, over 100 entrants are at Apex only for Project M! This suggests that a lot of players that have enjoyed this awesome mod have been pulled into the Smash community and means more growth in general! Always great to see!

Even though Melee may be more popular, the fact that there are so many players and so many characters, with no defined top players of Project M yet, means that there are tons of 1st place potentials! So many new match-ups, mechanics, stages, and a melting pot of Melee and Brawl (and even Smash 64!) leads to a really exciting event!

Some of the highest skilled players entering Project M includes but not limited to:

Ally, aSMa, Axe, Bladewise, Chudat, Cmart, Darc, DEHF, DJ Nintendo, Eli, ESAM, Fly Amanita, Fuzzyness, Hax, Hungrybox, JaimeHR, JCaeser, Jolteon, K9, Kage the Warrior, Kirk, Leffen, Mew2King, Nintendude, Oracle, Oro. PinkFresh, Plup, Rat, Rolex, Salem, Scythe, Sethlon, Silent Wolf, Strong Bad, Taj, Tyrant, Vist, Zhime

SMASH 64

Last year had an amazing performance with a clash of Japan and North America! While last year's champion, Kikoushi will not be in attendance, another Kirby player, many who say is an even great player will be there! Moyashi! Many of the other big names will all be there too including Isai, Superboomfan, JaimeHR, and Ruoka Dancho, and more!

One of the biggest changes this year is that Hyrule has been banned and Dreamland is required to be the first stage for all sets! With these new rules, there's a lot of speculation about how this will affect players that play certain characters, and some even suggest that Pikachu and Kirby players will by leaps and bounds defeat everyone else! We'll have to see how Apex plays out with the new standard!

Also, online players have the new option to play with their keyboards, using an adapter! How will the beasts from online, Star King and Killer fare in person?

And how will JaimeHR's fellow Mexican players, Mariguas and Dext3r perform? All three are expected to do well at this tournament!

Some of the highest skilled players entering Smash 64 includes but not limited to:

Banze, Ceaser, Fireblaster, Firo, Han Solo, Isai, Kefit, KeroKeroppi, Killer, M3gav01t, Mariguas, Merihim, Moyashi, Nintendude, Sensei, Sheermadness, Star King, Superboomfan, Ruoka Dancho, Ybombb

Good and/or notable players not entering Smash 64 includes but not limited to:

Alvin, Battlecow, Capitan Tavo, Gerson, Jousuke, King Funk, Nangoku, Prince, Red

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

-Isai has claimed he'll be using Jigglypuff only in Smash 64, but this was before Hyrule was banned, so this may have changed.
-Street Fighter, and Marvel both have pot bonuses of $1000, but less than 50 entrants each. However, there are expectations of more entering at the door.
-Smash 64 and Project M only have singles events, no doubles.
-Chudat, Sleeh, and SomethingPresentable are the only players entering all six Smash events.
-Wobbling is legal.
-Melee's counterpicking system is a player cannot counterpick ANY stage they won on during the set. The modified rule where a player is only restricted to the last won stage is NOT at Apex 2014.
-There are no stage bans for Melee best of 5 sets.
-Melee round 1 pools reduces the entrants to 64 (32 pools of ~20 with 2 players moving on from each), and round 2 reduces the remaining to 8 (4 pools of 16 with 2 players moving on from each). In other words, there will be massive death pools!
-Smash 64 pools take all ~160 players into four pools, giving about 40 entrants per pool, and only 2 players move on to top 8! Death pools!
-Project M has 32 pools of ~12 players each, with 2 players moving on to round 2. The remaining 64 players in round 2 are put into 4 pools of 16 each, which will leave only 2 from each for the top 8!
-Smash 64 has only Dreamland, Peach's Castle, and Kongo Jungle as legal stages. Dreamland is always played in game 1.
-Melee singles and doubles sets are all best of 3, except for all top 8 sets.
-Smash 64 sets are all best of 3, except for all Winners' Semis, Losers' Quarters, and beyond.
-Project M sets are all best of 3, except for all top 8 sets.
-VideoGameBootCamp will be providing Salty Suite exhibition matches from 10pm to midnight everyday from the 16th to the 19th.
-There is currently discussion on whether to use 3.0 or 3.01 versions of Project M.
-Pi, the Samus from Florida who always uses different names, is "Collusion".

If you'll be watching at home, stick around here and feel free to post anything about Melee, Project M, and Smash 64 here! It'll be a lot of fun and excitement!

NOTE: Apex pools are not finalized and can be changed! Melee Doubles and more information on Project M Pools to come later!

Missed notable players for PM: Eli, Sethlon, Jolteon, Zhime, Ally, Rat, Scythe, Larry Lurr, K9, ESAM.

The "Kirk" registered is not KirkQ, it is Kirk, the Bowser player who won TBH3. But I don't think he's going, actually, unfortunately.

PM pools are 32 pools of ~12ish, top 2 get out.

KellyK is not Kels; that is a player from Kentucky.

Mehirim from Japan should also be a big threat for Smash 64.

He tied with Kikoushi at the most recent Japanese tournament.

Also the only characters hurt by the Hyrule ban are Fox and Link.

Thanks! And sure, while Link and Fox are worse on Dreamland than Hyrule, Pikachu and Kirby not only gain a bit of a boost from lack of Hyrule, having Dreamland always game 1 certainly helps them.

I don't personally think it would change results too much, but I read some vocal posts about it. :awesome:

Thank you so much for doing this t3h Icy - your Info Dumps are very informative every single tourney. <3

I really like the term "hidden bosses" - so many players out there who are just amazing at this game - still don´t get the recognition they deserve...not yet.

Oh my God, I'm so hyped for this year's APEX, just a little sad that Armada won't be attending, so I'll be rooting for M2K instead. <3

And, as a pleasant surprise, I won't have work this Friday. so I will take the whole weekend just watching SSBM. Going to buy the snacks and drinks, invited a few close friends too. I LOVE SMASH GODDAMN IT, can't wait to watch all matches.

Armada is attending, he simply isn't entering Melee singles.

Yeah, I'm starting to think the registration list is slightly outdated. Mew2King also mentioned a few times he'll be doing Smash 64 as well, so maybe the registration list isn't our best resource.

In other news, there's apparently going to be an exhibition between Amsa and Kage, best of 5! Any predictions? =D

-Smash 64 sets are all best of 3, except for all top 8 sets.
In the rules it says:

All sets are best-of-3 except for the following which are best-of-5:
Winners Semis, Winners Finals, Losers Quarters, 5th place tiebreaker, Losers Semis, Losers Finals, and
Grand Finals

The round before LQ is still considered 'top 8', isn't it? That's not included above.

Ahh, that's true. I'm not sure why they don't just include Losers' Eighths since it's part of top 8 as well. Thanks!

$5 on amsa

yoshi is the most under-rated character imo, and amsa is amazing. i have witnessed it with my own two hands

i believe in the yoshi

Who is Tian?
Exactly. Which is funny, because the MM started when Tian felt it was unfair to everyone not listed when Tafokints posted a list of notable players in each pool.

Well, if he wants to be known, he has his shot! Though I have a feeling he'll be notable for different reasons. :awesome:

(Edit: also updated the change in Smash 64 where Star King was switched with Vice.)

And for another Salty Suite battle:

I actually think this could be pretty interesting to see!

Edit: Actually there's a bunch of these! Big props to GIMR and VGBC for making hype as **** matches! Predictions!? =D

Just for more information about Tafokints vs Tian, it's going to be first to 5 (best of 9), Sheik dittos, no chaingrabs. I think it being a ditto makes it really interesting, but I still don't have high hopes for Tian. Would love to see an upset though!

Ah that stinks that it's a sheik ditto. I will have to tune into that $300 MM though. Fiction vs. Stric sounds way more entertaining.

Who wants to put some money against neither of those MMs happening for their stated amounts? lol

I forgot to include Armada for doubles since he doesn't appear on the registration list. He's there for doubles with Ice.

Also, there's going to be an exhibition match on Friday on Clashtournaments of Armada and Mew2King vs Lucky and Mango in what's possibly the two best teams in recent history! Clashtournaments post here for more information: http://clashtournaments.com/?p=1169

VGBootcamp Salty Suite trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EvPFHm88AE

Can anyone tell me who team "GrabnGo" are? (Edit: turns out they're Moon and DJ Nintendo)

And those trailers were super sick!

Edit: Smash 64 pools are getting one more small change, so I'll update the bracket images after that's all done.

I'm a bit disappointed that only a small handful of project m pools are being streamed. is there any way y'all could just let GIMR stream them?

t3h Icy, your two posts were hella cool.

I'm going with:

1. Lucky (3-1)
2. Shroomed (3-1)
3. Amsa (3-0)
4. Plup (3-1)
5. Kage (3-2)
6. HBox (3-1)
7. Fiction (3-0)
8. Tafokints (5-1)
9. Wes (3-0)
10. Hax -- is he going Fox or Falcon? 3-1 Wes if Fox, 3-1 Hax if Falcon
11. 3-0 PewFat

I honestly feel that deep down, Tian doesn't realistically expect to win, and is going more for the stunt and pizazz. Tafokints is a really solid Sheik, and even if Tian specializes in dittos, he's going to be outmatched. Chaingrabs being disallowed also doesn't give him a way to cheese/fluke a win. So I'm guessing that if Tian truly thinks he's going to win, he's either severely underrated, or he's going to win on nerves of steel. I feel that if Tafokints loses game 1, it'll get in his head really bad.

That's just my prediction anyway. I'd say 5-0 Tafokints.

Melee Pool B2: (MT (?) vs Neutroni), Nintendude vs OkamiBW
Expected top 2: My guess is MT is Vanz, in which case, has a good chance of getting out. Nintendude and OkamiBW are both good players too, so someone good is not surviving.
MT is not VaNz, MT is a marth main from austin tx and still has a good shot of making it out.

Melee Pool B6: Tirno (?) vs (Velocity vs 4%), Nando vs Juggleguy
Expected top 2: Uhh, hard to say. This is a rather easy pool, if I'm not mistaken.
Tirno is the best falco in texas period beating sung at forte. I'm interested to see how he does.

Thanks! Not sure why their pools are setup with them in the top slot though, but I'm guessing they were adjusted before the pools were publicly released.

MT has seeding points so he get's the top spot, same with Tirno and any other player
