hello dk jr. was in his own game he was rescueing his father from mario (who was the antagonist) and when they were going to update dk jr they came up with what looked like diddy alot so the guy who does donkey kong told the person who drew it to change the design or make that monkey its own character. thus diddy was born and these days dk jr. is the dk of now and that dk from back then is cranky kong

I'd say donkey Kong is an adult, probably around, in realistic terms, as far as human's go, 19 - 20 but for an ape, probably 14 Whilst Diddy Kong being the youner sidekick, I would imagine to be nearing adult-hood, coming in at around, 14-15, for human, and 8, for an ape. This is based on realistic age, as well as blind opinion, not creation of the series, as that has no application in determining a characters in-game age.
