Attn Sheik Mains: Please Help Me In My Research Project

Hello everyone! I am currently doing a research project on Brawl for members of the smash lab. They have a couple ideas going around in there and I wanted to test a few of them out for myself. Therefore if you guys would not mind, I would appreciate it if you would help me out.

I would like you, since you know your characters better than I do (probably), to tell me in quick bullet points what the most annoying things for you to play against. I am talking about aspects of match ups that change how the match up plays out. Examples of this would be King Dedede’s standing infinite on Bowser, DK, Mario, Luigi, Samus and himself or grab releases like Marth on Ness/Lucas or Wario’s grab release shenanigans. Basically, anything match up specific where one character has a great advantage over the other character simply because of that move/moves. There’s plenty out there but I want to make sure I have them all! Please list them for me!

I don't have the experience to tell you, but check the matchup thread. EVERYTHING is there. Probably the same for the other forums.

i hate playing agenst marth and ike because of there long swords its alot harder to get in close and attack against an experienced player and marths normal B is long enough to get you out of a chain thing,

i also hate playign agenst pit and falco because of there arrows and lazers really annoying when you got somone in a chain lock. (oddly enough flacos like my secondary)

Marth up B is the first one to come to mind since it nearly completely nullify a lot of Sheik combo potential which is what makes Sheik good in the first place.

Luigi is another problem child since his up B can kill at 50 or so percent on Sheik and it can interrupt the tilt string unless they are weaken enough but you can argue the same for Marth or any match up.

Pikachu chain grab and Kirby's is also a ***** to deal with....Other then that though sheik has at least some answer to any type of "problem" or the "problem" isn't so much that it would change the match up that much if it wasn't there.

If you wish to do research just in the name of research then test to see if you can smash Di Mario Up B so you only get hit by the first hit.

Also test to see if you can do a "AAA" combo with the c-stick presses, last night I just started doing this within my matches against Mario but I don't know for sure if it truly works or maybe the Mario just happen to be misplacing a lot suddenly after I started doing it.

Any very fast attack which can interrupt Shiek's strings i.e. Bowser and Marth Up B, Luigi N Air. Generally the only thing that harms Shiek other then the actual character gives most characters problems, like Falco's CG.

  • during the tilt lock, Marth's up B, Yoshi's Nair, Mario's up B, and probably some others will get them out of the tilt lock (Which Shieks use to rack up dmg early in the stock).
  • Most of MK's moves.
  • Falco chain grab
  • Kirby
  • Marth's Fair

    Probably some others too, but I can't think of them right now.

Yeah, I hate all disjointed hitboxes... they own Sheik hard. Pikmin... Ness's fair... etc. Also Characters with good grabs, because Sheik is forced to approach most characters... and grabs can be a real who*e to fight against.
