And almost everything that could be considered spam in here would be fine in a social thread, which this is XD You should hang out in the Olimar boards for awhile and see what real spam is. If you don't think I, or another mod, will infract someone for something, feel free to report it. But yes, we know you need a mod, and will take care of it.

Yeah some of the stuff actually is. A while back I went and read the entire rules and there was nothing wrong with many of the posts edited, it just came down to how a mod viewed it. Normally this wouldnt be an issue but afaik, mods are only here to regulate the rules as written by MLG etc, not make up their own.

I do believe a line was crossed when it was 'just doing my job' and when things became personal.

Used to be looser, until some users told me how they felt stuff was getting out of hand (some of them didn't feel safe about seeing stuff on SWF around public eyes <_<)

See there's a spectrum:
-light stuff: ex. the Pikachu w/ the ketchup bottle splurts/ the Chocolate zangoose + Lucario, I let those on. Were they innuendos? Yes, of course, but I felt they were too ambiguous for people to get into trouble with. I let these fly by.
-Stuff like risqué wearing/stuff like that was questionable (ecchi, bulges/stripping/revealing), I went about these at my discretion, which according to the public rules, the objective is "Family-safe" content. Good luck at keeping this obv., but oh well.
-Then there was blatant explicit content posted, things that were pretty much porno.
How close is the general concensus of "appropriate" is?
Remember those pictures of the "censored" pornography with the crudely MS paint/adobe edited porn pictures replaced with something funny like a woman "mending the pants" of a man? I thought they were personally "questionable" to the point where I couldn't make an accurate call, so I submitted them. Most mods said that since they were extremely suggestive to anyone who could put two and two together, and also had none of the "site sources" cropped, and therefore had to be taken down.

It's mod's discretion, so I don't see how that's "making up the rules".

Also to add onto that, there's stated in the rules a range of infractions/warnings one can give as a mod.

Censor dodging - 1 point, 5 days
Inappropriate content, mild - 1 point, 5 days
Inappropriate content, major - 3 points, 14 days
Pornography/explicit images - Permanent ban, subject to administrator's discretion

Not only did I hardly hand out them as a mod, but when I actually DID hand them out, they were under "mild inappropriateness", which is one point. I didn't smack it as "inappropriate content: major", which is on the other hand, is three and for a much longer time. I mostly gave warnings. In fact, I only banned for maybe one picture, which was that really edgy thread. "Aura grinding" I think it was?

All I know is the image of mine that was removed doesnt have any 'mature' tags on any of the sites it is hosted on and they have the same 13+ year old policy as SWF.

It annoys me especially because of the MASSIVE use of the term ****, giving the d**k and endless sexual innuendos on this site with plenty of suggestive women as avatars and sigs which is ok yet images which in no way violate swf rules are removed.

I'm not going into semantics of stuff that is more heavily ingrained. That's something that I've seen discussed, and concluded as "not a problem".

Terms like **** on this site never really mean ****. Most people use that term meaning "I just kicked your ***" basically. However I agree with you about the avatars and sigs containing graphic content being stupid. It bugs me that people feel the need to constantly remind others of there sexual orientation. I would remove that crap if I could as they posted it knowing it was sexual content. >w>

Anywho, ph1nney was really sweet to ya'll when he was modding. I mean you guys post ALOT of porn and suggestive pics...censoring them in MS-paint doesn't really make it right as most people with half a brain still see whats going on. But really, most of that stuff posted would be ban worthy usually or counted as a major infraction.

If I become a mod I won't be harsh either. Just sayin. I like ya'll too much. >w> Mods shouldn't be major tightwads imo.

I was on a large scale sweep iirc. That or I don't exactly remember the reason and I'd have to see the pic again. Was it clothed decently and/or wasn't super suggestive?

Main reason was because of my college/extracurricular load, and I wanted to focus less on monitoring SWF and posting more findings/observations about how to get better. That and the process of tracking the progress of my own gameplay/corrections to my gameplay at the same time. I felt like modship was good, but that it didn't help me with my real goals of helping the Lucario metagame in my own way, I felt like prodding for organization/production alone wasn't what was really needed, but more ideas on how to approach the game from more practical avenues of thinking and create discussion/peer connection/evaluation. Modding was cool and it had its perks, but I'm kinda relieved that I don't need to monitor anymore, and I did appreciate the support I got, and I have a newfound respect for staff, especially those who don't get paid to do this sort of thing (especially some of those on AiB lol).
