I've had a question for a while know what are somethings that someone should focus on while playing a match. Are their certain skills that should be practiced. Should i try to go fully defensive or something. I guess what i'm asking is how do you guys improve your game other than just playing humans.

Seriously though, just practice/ play with people who are GOOD. And I mean top 5 in tournies good. They usually have great advice on how you can up your game. Don't focus on your own play style yourself if you can, because its gonna distract you too much during a match. Have someone else pay attention to how you fight.. I'd suggest posting vids of you playing on smashboards and asking people to critique you.

Just practice. I don't know about specifics for characters, but I imagine short hops and perfect shielding would help with most characters
