i'm a fox main, so maybe i just need to get used to always taking 30% from this, but is there an optimal way to DI this? assuming you're not coming from underneath peach.

To be honest, there is no cluttering in the melee boards. It's practically dead. This forum is for "Melee discussion"...why not let people talk?We have had a huge amount of single question threads getting popped up. If you could use the Q&A thread next time or maybe peach related boards that would be good to help avoid too much clutter around here.

Otherwise, the Dsmash from peach has two hitboxes on either side of her which each throw you at a 140 degree angle. Or, 40 degrees above the stage. If you are on the left side of peach you get thrown right at 40 degrees. If you are on the right side of her you get thrown left 40 degrees above the stage. In other words, it is as said before and you certainly do not want to hold the control stick straight down else you will DI into consecutive hits. Holding up gives you the moderate DI on both sides of her. While you would want do something like up left or up right to get the most survival DI you could out of the attack.
If you do not DI at all, then you might still take two hits of damage if you are at a low enough percent.
