Good Afternoon guys!

The Custom build is not yet completed. But I'm ready to release my Tourney Friendly build, complete with my unique Marin retexture. You can download the complete Tourney Friendly build here.

For those of you who do not want the music but the build instead, Here is the Tourney Friendly build, sans music. I painstakingly had to rename all the songs back to their default names, so be grateful...baka...

Hackless version should essentially be coming soon, but I've learned that you can make any homebrew version into a hackless version. I'll look more into that, but if it's true then I will work to make all my homebrew versions into homebrew/ hackless hybrids.

There are a few things I've personally changed. As many of you already know, included is a version of my personal Zelda skin, a Marin recolor for Zelda, updated to be in a Malon model for closer resemblance of Marin. Don't worry, its totally tournament legal, the model itself is just a vertex of Zelda with no bone edits.

Also included is a retexture of Zelda to match the appearance of Katarina (Fire Emblem 12). She's all purple, so it also matches the color motif of Project M

The Vibrant Zelda models have been enhanced for your viewing pleasure (also still tourney legal). I'll let you horndogs find out on your own.

Red Peach is now RiBB | Malachi's Red Ponytail Peach. I even edited the CSP to match the change. If you look close enough, you can see some of my faults. Also, I updated a Smash 4 Black Gold Peach to have Vibrant Peach's skin and hair tone.

Last but not least, Red Mewtwo is replaced with Ruby Mewtwo and Green Jigglypuff is replaced with Hungrypuff. Blue Sheik was not replaced because its still a badass skin, and through the suggestion of FS | Frozen, I left Grey Mewtwo untouched (albeit the Vibrant version)

Although I will have a full changelist for you by the official release of my custom build, below is a visual of various different texture replacements for this particular build.

Bowser

Zelda

Zero Suit Samus

Link

Ganondorf

Jigglypuff

Mewtwo

That might sound a little rude, but where's the download link?

I know it's not finished, but releasing what's done so far would be great.

Yeah, I'm really REALLY bad at life and accidently posted the thread WAY before I actually was slated to finish.

Should be up now. Let me know if the link is good.

Good Afternoon guys!

I'd like to formally welcome you all to the first release of Black Razgriz's Project M 3.5 Build!!! *cue generic clapping*

For those of you who just want to hope right on in and ignore the details, here's the link. Enjoy to your heart's content.

NOTE: The download is a Dropbox link. It is 1.19 GBs large, so you won't be able to download through normal means. I suggest creating a Dropbox account (Its free, and it allows up to 10 GB of storage for free users, more than enough for these kinds of things). Unless someone has an alternative method of download, this is what I suggest you do.

This build has been in the works since the release of Project M 3.5, and it is still being worked on to this very moment. There may or may not be any changes implemented following the release, but know that it will forever be an ever-changing process.

Below is a list of changes from the vanilla version of Project M 3.5. Credits are given accordingly, and if they are not listed, know that the credits go to whoever created the piece, not me. These can also be read on the READ ME file included in the download link.

Changes to the vanilla Project M build.

1) New Costumes for certain characters! Listed below are characters, costumes, and credits for the costume.

  1. Mario -> Mario Mafio (Credits to The Bae)
  2. Donkey Kong -> Funky Kong (Credits to TOCK)
  3. Link -> Materialized Dark Link (Texture has been removed from BrawlVault, cannot find appropriate credits)
  4. Samus -> Dark Suit Samus (Credits to SJS, Starwaffle)
  5. Fox -> Goku Gi Fox (Credits to bizzozeron)
  6. Luigi -> Casino Luigi (Credits to KTH, LJSTAR)
  7. Ness -> Rim Ninten (Credits to NintenNess [ニンテンネス])
  8. Peach -> Crazy Daisy (Credits to SJS)
  9. Zelda -> Marin (Credits to LookitsLink, VanishMantle)
  10. Shiek -> Dark Shiek (Credits to Dengarde)
  11. Marth -> Awakening Marth (Credits to ramonM64, Vert092, Shun_One)
  12. Falco -> Saiyan Armor Falco (Credits to bizzozeron)
  13. Ganondorf -> Phantom Ganon (Credits to HowDolSpaceJam)
  14. Pit -> Human Zero-Two (Credits to _Data_Drain_, Akari_Un)
  15. Lucas -> Travis (Credits to ShinF)
  16. Mewtwo -> Mega Mewtwo X Remastered (Credits to AlGeorgeRomo)
  17. Charizard -> Mega Charizard X Remastered (Credits to AlGeorgeRomo)
  18. Lucario -> Mega Lucario Remastered (Credits to AlGeorgeRomo)
  19. Ike -> Vanguard Ike (Credits to FEFar)
  20. Roy -> Master Lord Roy (Credits to Crixler)
  21. Toon Link -> Hylian Tunic Dark Toon Link (Credits to Miraj)
  22. Sonic -> Metal Sonic (Credits to Mephisto Mastaklo)

With subsequent patches and releases, this costume list will soon grow to encompass the entire cast. I plan on giving an alternative costume to every single character in the game.

Along with the New Costumes for various characters, Zelda and Zero Suit Samus have been given texture overhauls. Zelda has the "Vibrant Zelda" texture, with a Twilight Zelda skin replacing her black skin. Zero Suit Samus has been given a pseudo-Other M skin set, with a Super Metroid End skin replacing black and Zero Mission End skin replacing white. As with the previous passage, subsequent patches and releases will see more characters getting texture overhauls.

All characters with the exception of a few have their BPs, CSPs, and CSSs altered. Credits go to SJS for the majority of the work, Luddoj for some of the more unique BPs, CSPs, and CSSs, and myself for the Marin Zelda and Materialized Dark Link BP and CSP.

2) Various bug fixes and graphical abnormalities have been implemented. Listed below are examples of such fixes.

- The "Dr. Mario" costume and reskins got texture improvements
- Marth's sheath was included in the "Sigurd Marth" costume and reskins. Red Sigurd Marth's pants got golden highlights.
- The Training Stage's platforms were given proper collision
- "Big Boss Snake" got proper Final Smash eyes
- "Pajama Ness" got proper Final Smash eyes
- Lucario's arm no longer pops out of socket when using Shoryuken. Eye textures fixed as well
- Stock Icons have been appropriately categorized
- Kirby got proper Final Smash eyes. His purple skin has appropriate textures. The Wario hat has appropriate textures
- Pikachu got proper Final Smash eyes.
- King Dedede's textures have been fixed
- Roy now has hair that matches with his canon appearance
- The Menu picture displayed on the "My Music" tab now displays a menu for Project M 3.5
- Giga Bowser's textures have been fixed
- Zero Suit Samus' "Justin Bailey" outfit no longer has transparent eyes

Should a new patch release that fixes the aforementioned problems, I will disinclude them from the next iteration of my build. If there are more bugfixes before that patch arrives, I will include them in the next version of my build.

3) Updated stages. Below lists a few stages that have been changed aesthetically to maintain their competitive viability.

Final Destination -> Rainbow Final Destination. First appearing on the Melee 20XX training hack, this stage caught my eyes by its uniqueness and relative quality.

Norfair -> Crateria. A reskin of Norfair to the entry level of Super Metroid, Crateria. The slow rain and forest environment, as well as the night setting felt more genuine than the rather mundane lava aesthetics of the original.

Online Training Stage. Platforms have been fixed, and are no longer there solely for viewing pleasures.

Note: Dreamland has a different SSS, due to the fact that it was originally going to be replaced with Dreamland at Night, but due to complications (i.e. crashes) I've decided to return Dreamland to its original form. The SSS still remains, however, as I am too lazy to return the SSS to its original form. Please Understand.

There will be more stages included in the next build release. But for now, enjoy these particular stages.

4) Music. Below is a list of all the music changes and their subsequent origins.

Also, Next week I'll be releasing a "Femme Fatale" expansion pack. Included will be Linda (a genderbent version of Link), Lucina (Using PM 3.5 Marth's moveset. I want it to remain tournament viable), and Mia (As explained with Lucina). The Download link will be here when the time comes.
Is this ok to take to a tourney or is that up to the to?

Needs more Wardog flair to it (I feel like I'm the only one who knows the naming reference).

None of the stages have been altered other than aesthetic details, so it should be good for Tournaments. Also, costumes are similar to stages in that its purely aesthetic and should not interrupt gameplay in the slightest.

Needs more Wardog flair to it (I feel like I'm the only one who knows the naming reference).
I've tried putting some AC5 music in (i.e. Wardog, White Bird II), but they didn't feel right. I'll do more testing to see if its just a volume issue or what not.

There is apparently an issue with Luigi's Casino Luigi costume crashing the game.

I'll have a fix/ replacement ready for next week. I'll also include new costumes for Ice Climbers and Jiggs, as well as audio improvements on certain songs.

Alright guys, Black Razgriz here. I have been working very hard on the V.1.1 build, fixing some mistakes and generally improving it for ease and satisfaction. I can proudly say that the build will be available for download on Saturday, March 7, 2015.

In preparation for the build's inevitable release, I will release a changelog of sorts right here. Note: Everything in the changelog is subject to...well...you know...CHANGE. Nothing is absolute until the release of the build.

Enjoy.

Changelog (V.1.1)

1. BPs, CSPs, CSSs

The BPs, CSPs, and CSSs (henceforth abbreviated as CSPs) for all characters have been redone. For the most part, characters retained the CSPs from V.1.0, but certain characters have lost their CSPs, as I thought they were visually unappealing. Those characters are

Kirby
Mr. Game & Watch
Meta Knight
Diddy Kong
Squirtle
R.O.B

In addition to CSPs being eliminated from certain characters, CSPs were changed for Sheik. Sheik received a new texture pack (which will be discussed later) and her CSPs were changed accordingly.

2. COSTUMES

Link: Materialized Dark Link has been removed. The general darkness of the skin blended in too well with certain backgrounds, which made it competitively nonviable. Link's alternate costume is now Judgment Kratos (Credits to LookItsLink).

Luigi: Casino Luigi has been removed. Casino Luigi causes the game to crash. I do not know why that is so, and to be safe I have decided to replace him. In the future, should I find a fix to the problem I may or may not return him to the cast. Luigi's alternate costume is now Mafio Luigi (Credits to The Bae)

Sheik: Dark Sheik moved to FitSheik04. It used to be FitSheik05. It now appropriately replaces the Black Sheik costume.

Ice Climbers: Ice Climbers gained a new alternate costume. It is now REAL Ice Climbers. Note: Hammer particle effects still linger on this particular outfit. It does work on Project M 3.5. It replaces the Grey Ice Climbers outfit.

Zero Suit Samus: Zero Suit Samus (henceforth abbreviated as ZSS) gained a new alternate costume. It is now Lt. Falcon. Do not let her appearance fool you. Her girth is just as legendary as HIS. Replaces ZSS' Blue outfit.

Charizard: Mega Charizard X has been removed. Because of my inability to change Charizard's tail flame color to blue, and because of the subsequent awkward flame textures from the mouth and tail, Mega Charizard X has been removed. Charizard's alternate costume is now Mega Charizard Y

Jigglypuff: Jigglypuff gained a new alternate costume. STANDING IN THE RED CORNER, AT A MERE 1'08''! DON'T LET HER SIZE FOOL YOU; IF YOU KNOCKED OUT OF THE RING, SHE WILL NOT RELENT! SHE'S PINK, SHE'S PUFF, SHE'S...ELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GLOBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! El Globo joins the fray (Credits to AlGeorgeRomo).

3. TEXTURE REPLACEMENTS

Sheik: Sheik's normal Brawl textures have been replaced by a Vibrancy pack. Sheik is now more vibrantly colored than before.

Jigglypuff: Jigglypuff's normal Brawl textures have been replaced by a Vibrancy pack. Jigglypuff is now more vibrantly colored than before. Blue Jigglypuff's skin is now...blue. As opposed to her original pink.

4. MUSIC

L06 - Main Theme (Pikmin) -> Beneath the Moonlight (Donkey Kong Country 3: Double the Trouble!): Beneath the Moonlight's decibel boost has been reduced to 3 from 7. In Brawl, L06 has a natural volume of 90, which is above average. As a result, the usually silent song was playing far louder than the actual gameplay. The solution would be to normalize all songs, but that could have an adverse effect on replaced songs.

W06 - Fountain of Dreams (Melee) -> Alice's Resolve (Monster Girl Quest): Alice's Resolve has received a decibel boost to accomodate for W06's naturally low volume (53)

5. OTHERS

The "Songs Replaced" and "Custom Songs on Stages" text documents have been edited for consistency with the song lists.

Along with the release of V.1.1, There is a download link for the Black Razgriz Custom Build Femme Fatales Version. The link includes:

  • Linda: The genderbent version of Link. Textures are Brawl with the exception of FitLink04, which has Smash 3 Linda textures. Announcer Call included.
  • Lucina: Marth's descendant from a dystopic future. Voices and Announcer call include.
  • Mia: Greil Mercenaries' headstrong swordswoman. Replaces Marth. Uses the Brave Sword. Voice included, but there is no Announcer call for the moment.
Also included with the release of V.1.1 is a separate download link for my music pack. If you simply want to use the music that I am currently using, then you can download that separately. As with the Custom Build, the music pack will undergo changes and will be updated with each update of the Custom Build.

The Smashboards thread will include pictures of the CSPs, as well as screenshots of what the CSS and SSS will look like. That will come at a later time.

Hope this hypes you up a lot. I am certainly looking forward to this next release of Black Razgriz's Custom Build V.1.1

"Norfair -> Crateria. A reskin of Norfair to the entry level of Super Metroid, Crateria. The slow rain and forest environment, as well as the night setting felt more genuine than the rather mundane lava aesthetics of the original."

I am eternally happy that you think the same way I did when making the reskin. Metroid has snow and forests with tons of ambience, its not all lava and acid as nintendo makes it look like.

Edit: Mother of typos...

Hey Raz, I'll be posting an update for my build very soon. You should check out some of the stuff I have added that you might want on your build, like a new Brawl HUD.

When you save it in your dropbox, if you have dropbox installed on your computer, just simply copy and paste onto your computer. Do you have dropbox installed on your computer?

Thank you so much for your compliment! And thank you for taking the time to comment on my build :D

Btw, if its possible, could you potentially make a version of Crateria where the walls and bottom of the stage are more visible? There were plenty of times where I had accidently mistaken the moss as non-intrusive and paid the price heavily.

Certainly @ ライオン ライオン ! I'll be more than happy to download it and give it a peek when I get the chance. I mean, you were the inspiration for me to release my own build online!

Your build has most of the same stuff that I have plus more. To save you the trouble of downloading a huge file for no reason, Ill just send you the link to the new HUD.

No prob!
Huh, The moss has no collisions on them, infact only the main stage itself has collisions. Everything is pure mossy eyecandy. Or you mean the cliff bellow? I know I use latest PM's norfair as base, so the boundaries and animations remain just about the same...

Or I misunderstood what you said entirely... if so, sorry about that.

However, as much as I would like to modify the stage in this moment, I cannot unfortunately. Im looking for a new workspace that would not explode like the previous one. If you seen my thread, be sure to stop by and remind me, atleast the thread is explosion proof.

Is there a way to download this expansion pack without the custom music?

Where did you get the norfair reskin?
Here you go

All credits go to @ Nezha the Scout Nezha the Scout for the fantastic skin. It is leagues above many stage skins I've ever laid eyes on.

However, there is considerable doubt in the tournament legality of stage, primarily due to the nature of the moss. User discretion is advised (I suggest using it nonetheless because its that good)

Alright guys. The next iteration of Black Razgriz's Custom Build will be hitting the internet today. So, as usual, in order to prepare for the coming glory that is my build, here is the Changelist V.1.2. You can also find the changelist on the Build.

Changelist V.1.2

Changelog (V.1.2)

1. COSTUMES

Squirtle: Squirtle gained a new costume. Termination comes in small packages. Robo Squirtle joins the brawl.

Roy: Master Lord Roy has been removed. There was nothing wrong with the texture. However, I found a new texture for Roy that I desired more than Master Lord, and I want every character to have 1 alternate costume. It has been replaced by Cless Alvein Roy. DHAOS! (Credits to ZX_RendingSaber_XZ)

2. MUSIC

A09 - A09 - Luigi's Mansion Theme -> I Miss You... (Tales of Phantasia)

G01 - Main Theme (Star Fox) -> Winter Storm (Ace Combat V: The Unsung War): Increased the volume by 5 decibels

G07 - Space Battleground -> White Bird [Part II] (Ace Combat V: The Unsung War) Increased the volume by 5 decibels

G11 - Area 6 Ver. 2 -> I Miss You... [Xover Ver.] (Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X)

L04 - L04 - Ai no Uta -> "Don't speak her name!" (Fire Emblem Awakening)

L07 - Stage Clear / Title (Pikmin) -> Chasing Waterfalls (Donkey Kong Country 3: Double the Trouble!): Increased the song's volume by 3 decibels.

P03 - Skyworld -> Counterattack (Monster Girl Quest): Replaced "Counterattack (Monster Girl Quest)" with "Something Precious (Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 Arranged)"

R12 - Battle Scene / Final Boss (Gold... -> Path of Ruin (Harmony of a Hunter): Increased the song's volume by 5 decibels

W30 - Menu (Melee) -> You Have Power...Like Mine (Fire Emblem Awakening): Replaced with {L01 - World Map (Pikmin 2) -> Fighting of the Spirit [Arranged] (Tales of Phantasia)}. Try as I might the song simply was too low to actually hear on the menu. L01 was replaced with Middle Aselian Biology (Summoning of Spirits)

3. TEXTURE REPLACEMENTS

Peach: Peach's Brawl textures have been replaced with a Peach Wii U Texture pack. Additionally, White Peach has been replaced with Black Peach, Blue Peach has been replaced with Royal Peach, and PM's Fire Peach has been updated and enhanced.

4. STAGES

Battlefield: Changed Battlefield into Subspace Melee Battlefield. The ominous ascent through the unknown is back in commission.

Norfair: Changed Norfair into Metroid Lab. Due to the questionable competitive legality of "Crateria," I've decided to replace it with a stage that is unique, and with clearly defined walls and bottom.

5. BPs, CSPs, CSSs

Remastered BPs and CSPs have been issued to the following characters:

Kirby
Mr. Game & Watch
Diddy Kong
Squirtle
R.O.B

Meta Knight still uses vBrawl BPs and CSPs.

6. BUG FIXES

The jet trail on Samus backpack has been fixed for her alternate costumes.

The highlight on Sonic's eyes have been merged with his own to prevent awkward eye disfiguration.

Virtual Boy R.O.B's spin trail has been corrected. Also, some of its textures has been corrected.

Outset Toon Link feet have been fixed to get rid of the boot outline.

Updated the two packs to fix an error with lightning sound effects, as well as include the Toon Link bug fix.

Also updated the Sans Music pack so that all custom skins were removed (i.e. my Marin skin)
