You say they use slightly higer hitlag than us, although that's mostly because they're so norcal pro and love their SDI rofl...

but have any of them uploaded their own videos?
I haven't seen any of them uploading their Brawl+ videos
Why havnt they posted here yet? ;__;
Of course, they lack translators like us...at least we have arkaether

Good, there's someone who's decent in English in Japan.
I already sent messages to Almas and paprika killer, the two main coders here. Hopefully they'll port the two codes soon.
And would you mind posting here more often? We would like to communicate more with Japan.

hmm, I lack a JPN dump so I can't really help with the porting. I know almas has a dump but he's kinda busy lately.

if the japanese coder can make a MEM1 dump and send that to me, I could help out.

If I am not mistaken the "2ch User" here is 僕, aka the guy who made the wiki and made the JP Brawl+ codeset. And he came here for help because Kenta is busy...
OK, I scanned through the page and there are a few questions/things they want to ask. So I guess I'll answer them here:

Wario's chaingrab: If I remembered correctly, we tried to fix it by adding a few frames to his down throw animation, but due to glitches, it was removed. It can't be fixed by now.

Dash speed increase: It should be the effect of Frame Speed Modifier. It is an intended effect. Every character's dash speed is increased to 1.17x. See here, Gameplay Settings Changes, Dash Speed for more information.

Samus's Forward smash, tilts: Her forward smash is already buffed. KBG to 90 from 100, BKB to 56 from 20. And Luigi's Mansion is a big stage, so KO's will naturally be at higher percentages.

To the Japanese: If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. It'll be best to include both the English translation and Japanese like what 2ch User did, or if your English is not good, just post in Japanese here. We have a decent translator too.

I do not have USB GECKO. So I do not dump and send a MEM1. Therefore I asked KENTA and Reis to send MEM1 to me. Please wait only a little more.

Well I tested the New Pork -> Online Waiting code. Although picking New Pork City doesn't take you to Online Waiting Room, Sandbags are replaced by dollar bills. So part of it is working.

Greetings, friends. First I want to thank everyone for their efforts on this translation project. I wish I were competent enough to contribute myself :)

I've been having issues with the code sets that have been posted, though I should mention that I'm new to Brawl+ in general so it's possible I've done something incorrectly. In any case, when I play with these codes the following happens:
- items are completely and utterly gone, even if you switch them on in the menu. This also includes Link's bombs, Snake's nades, Peach's radishes etc. - basically any thrown item.
- the game crashes to a loud beeping sound requiring a 5sec-button-hold hard reboot when certain moves are performed. The ones I've noticed are:
- because I'm so new to B+ I have a small frame of reference but it's POSSIBLE... that some of the gravity or maybe the jump values are funny? I could be wrong about this one though, as it's more of a "sense" I'm getting than anything conclusive.

I have read the thread, and I noticed the problems with the NPC -> Waiting Room and Online Handicap Disable codes. I don't give a flying hoot about either of those so I just deleted them from gameconfig.txt (I have one in the root and another in the \codes\ directory... can someone confirm which one is read by Gecko?). Unfortunately this has resulted in no changes to the aforementioned bugs.

So has anyone found a working fix?

Items disappearing is due to a bad port of the New Pork code, the gravity should be fine in the newest codeset and the beeping shouldn't happen either. These three things should all be fixed in the newest version.
The gameconfig.txt is read from the root of the SD card.

So now everything is working for the JP version of Brawl+... except one thing. The MK grounded tornado. It can somehow rise a lot. Any idea for this?

We have to see where the code that affects that is. Then it'll have to be re-ported. *shrug*

Those videos on nicovideo are great, especially the ones that showcase the various running and falling speed changes. Just what we need to show some of the changes made in Brawl+.

I can't answer question 1 as I don't really understand those codes, but I can answer question 2.

No Autosweetspot Ledges doesn't work for Lucario in all versions. This is because Lucario is write-protected, that means the code cannot affect him. Lucario's sweetspot and other character's sweetspot are differently programmed.

CPU Luigi: CPU Luigi is already the strongest CPU in vBrawl (vanilla Brawl, a.k.a. Normal Brawl). Try improving yourself to beat him. He is currently very hard to combo because he is floaty/falls slowly, and has relatively low hitstun. We're planning to increase his hitstun when we have the code.

Oh, and don't forget updating the CSS. The code is posted on above. The current CSS should look like this:

Launch Power Modifier makes all characters Dash faster, and makes people jump and fall at different speeds.
SH: Short Hop
FH: Full Hop
FF: Fast Fall
DGrav: Downwards Gravity (in effect when going down or when hit)

Gravity Modifier changes their gravity value and also makes Metaknight heavier in tornado, and increases the distance Link's Up+B moves.

Yes, Lucario is not affected by the autosweetspot code.

Oh so that means the Grav/Jump Value needs both the Launch Power Modifier and the Gravity Modifier to work? And why is Launch Power Modifier called Launch Power Modifier? And why in the JP version, Metaknight's grounded tornado can rise a lot, but his aerial one cannot rise? If the codes are correctly ported his grounded tornado should only be able to rise a bit.

Hmm. That is an odd bug, but I know why it would be caused.

Oh, I know EXACTLY why it would be caused. That'll require a change of the code. Feh. Too lazy.

that "bug" with the tonado is also in the PAL version, maybe just in all of them. me and my bro concluded that the grounded version makes a bounce that snets him high.

I have no clue how to edit it though, so let's just hope almas will do it ;)

The bounce is in the US version too, but he doesn't rise as high. Just wait for Almas

Zap Jump is the act of jumping and using PK Fire at the same time.

Ness' Zap Jump is more horizontal but not as vertical.

Oh and are you the Japanese translating the changelist in brawlplus.net? If you have the time, translating the whole brawlplus.net into Japanese would be a good idea. We can just make a Japanese version of brawlplus.net like what we did with the Spanish version.


EDIT: DJC is Double Jump Cancel. It was removed due to bad reception.

Sheik cannot running jump as same as SSBM's Sheik. I thought "Momentum Capture" and "Momentum Capture Data" codes affect running jump. Is running jump affected to other codes?

She can. It is just not as good. It is weaker than in SSBM.

He's got mediocre kill power with Good DI. He's heavy as hell and with good DI can live to stupid Brawl percents who has an amazing recovery with Side B and Up B.

He's the incarnate of Brawl in Brawl+. <___>
