Kilroy I don't know anything about Earthbound either, but I've heard many people requesting Poo about as much as Jeff is being suggested. I haven't heard too many people requesting Paula either, but I guess that makes sense because she would most likely be a clone of Ness.

i've definately heard poo, and to a lesser extent paula, around the net, but i was referring particularly to the japanese fan poll.

i wonder how people feel about that. and what the differences are between poon and jeff. what they're like.

i know that most of ness's moves are paula's moves in EB.

i know NOTHING about earthbound, but for those that do, i have a question.

why do you think jeff is the only other character requested so far from earthbound?

Because he's the only one without Psychic powers. He would be the most interesting and original of the EB characters. Sort of Like Duster.

Also, Protip: Flint isn't actually a main character, True, you play as him, but to my knowledge, you don't control him for the majority of the game. The characters from M3 would be Lucas, Claus, Kumatora, or (My personal favorite) Duster.

Oh, BTW. Duster for top tier!

What is wrong with this post?

1. Flint's the cowboy. Claus is the dark-hair kid and the twin brother of Lucas, the blond kid.

2. PSI IS still in Mother 3. They WERE going to replace it with Magic in the 64 version or something like that but it's cancelled. The GBA version still has PSI. Lucas and Kumatora are the only ones who use it.

3. How many times must I go over it with you people? If Claus makes it into the game, he would basically spoil the ending half of Mother 3's storyline. You don't want that, do you? And no, for the record, he's not a copy of Lucas. I could tell you why but then you'd ***** about me blowing the story for you.

Oh and 4. No there is no Ness NPC. There are NPCs that resemble Paula and Jeff but they aren't actually THEM. The closest you see of Ness in the game is the movie theater in New Pork City that showcases scenes from Earthbound.

He was suggested in the 120th chosen comment, although I agree that he is very unlikely to be in the game.

Anyways, there's a couple of things I would like to note:

The 118th comment(same guy that suggested Ninten) also suggests Pawapuro-kun from Konami's Jikkyo Power Pro Baseball series(if you've played Konami Krazy Racers or Dream Mix, Pawapuro is in those games, too).

Also, I don't know if someone else mentioned this yet, but I think that #111's "Cat Eye" Link is just a cute name for Windwaker Link.

Hi I'm new in this forum.
Im into nintendo again because of wii. So I cant wait to play the games I missed, especially smash bros.
Seeing Snake in this and Sora in the poll also All sonic and megaman addition from third party character I say why not Athena for third party character. She first appeared in nes right. And now Snk says they will support wii as third party. Why not her though I know it is a week possibility. Wht are your comments about her potential for being in?

I don't think KoF Athena was on a Nintendo console. There was an old Athena game for the NES (that really sucked, BTW), but I'm sure it's a different Athena than the KoF one.

Unless, of course, you're thinking of the NES Athena. In that case, I wouldn't really like her in. Not only is her game not very well known, it's not very good.

That said, I believe the person who mentioned Ridley in the poll wanted him in as a boss. Now, me being very much pro-Ridley, this would make Kal a very sad/depressed/murderous panda. On the other hand, I've also heard that one of the requests on the list asked for Superman, so I'm starting to doubt the validity of whether or not Sakurai is actually considering them or just posting the long, thought-out responses.

Anyways, I think that not having at least someone besides Ness from Earthbound would be a big mistake, as would exclugind MOther 3 entirely, but that's just me. As for Kingdom Hearts (my favorite series besides Mother), would having Kh1 Sora and KH2 Sora as two seperate characters be a possibility? There are plenty of things that could be done to make them different.

Okay...you are giving me a great idea. What about Goemon? My three favorite games/series are EB, KH, and Mystical Ninja(Goemon). And it could work quite creatively, think about how in the first MN game on the 64, you had control of all 4 main characters at once. You just changed which one appeared and whos abilites you were using by pressing down C.
And I agree that Sora making an appearance might seem rather strange, but I still think it is no more out of place than Snake. And Snake will fit right in over time. Blizzard(KH2)/Fire(1) for long range, reflect as a counter move (or Aero as a defensive shield move), a keyblade for a long shortrange weapon which he can also throw if it was KH1 Sora, and of course, Trinity Limit could be used multiple ways. Sora, be it whatever version of him you prefer, has the makings to be a good balanced character.

Now, where did Sakurai say he would put the most popular character from the list into the game? Because if he did say this, then that would most likely point to King Dedede for a new character, as he has been mentioned three times, and for keeping old characters, Young Link and Ganondorf I think were mentioned the most.

It's cool and all, but this game could only use maybe two more after Melee and the addition of Meta Knight (and I'm assuming Roy is getting the boot ). Takamaru is a must. Not sure who else. Sigurd is popular.

And I swear... if Diddy and Dixie appear as a pair, somebody's gettin' a dog doo filled package in the mail. Diddy needs to fly solo this time.

Ganbare Goemon

He rocks

Good 1st jump (Like Fox), Alright 2nd jump (Like Mario, but a faster flip)
Same weight as ness, falls like fox (not falco).
Being a ninja, he runs fast and quietly, a tad slower than fox.
He can Crouch really low.
His smash/a attacks would all involve swinging the pipe.

A, A, A: 3 punches, then a bit of lag. Repeat.
>A: Kick
^A: Headbutt upwards
VA: Low kick

>Smash: Charge up and wham with pipe.
It's a vertical attack (for anyone who's ever played Soul Calibur 2)
^Smash: Swing pipe at an upward angle, similar to Goemon 64.
VSmash: Crouch and spin around with pipe. Same as Samus' dsmash.

Neutral B = Throw ryous(coins), like luigi's fireballs but faster and more ranged
Same damage. (!)

>B: Chain Pipe (same as shiek, but more stiff chain, and pipe on the end)
It can aid recovery slightly, like Dr. Mario cape (NOT normal Mario cape)

^B: Ninja 'poof' dives then Teleports like shiek (but with a shorter dive),
leaves a tree behind like a samus bomb. The smoke effect does not damage the enemy.
Tree does 1-2% on contact, does not trap enemy.

vB: Ground pound. Like yoshi, but less range, a tad more damaging.

Midair attacks, similar to his normal A attacks.
He'd have a japanesey themed target test.

Sasuke: Clone of Goemon, faster and lighter(same weight as pikachu,
but NOT Pichu, a tad faster than Fox), better jumps but weaker.
Throws daggers(more damaging), rather than ryous.
His recovery is his legs become a propeller and he freely flies for 1 second.
He uses a SMALL sword instead of a pipe for A moves, and extends
his hair for an Upsmash.

Both entrances are a Player change warp (hovering slightly above ground)
which spawns them, thay do a little dance, then the player change
platform disappears and then they fall onto the stage.

When sent offscreen upwards, both have their Goemon 64 fall cry.

What do you think.

Sakurai better hurry up and make an English equivalent of this poll. I'm getting seriously worried here.

For one, I heard reports that only submissions on the Official (English) Nintendo Forum are being considered (no offence meant, but Duck Hunt Dog?), and the second being that Nintendo Power will supposedly reveal more characters in July (which is the time that Sakurai’s poll finishes).

(I wonder how many of OUR ideas are being shown by Sakurai’s website? Does anyone know if anything got through?)
