Smash Wii U Come up with a better name than "Smash Bros for Wii U"

Sort of a disappointing name.

Some people think that it should have been called Smash Bros. 4 but I think that wouldn't have been any better.

We have melee and brawl, so there's a theme.

Alternate ideas:
  • Super Smash Bros Assault
  • Super Smash Bros Battle
  • Super Smash Bros Battle Royale
  • Super Smash Bros Clash
  • Super Smash Bros Feud
  • Super Smash Bros Havoc
  • Super Smash Bros Skirmish
  • Super Smash Bros Rumble
And some ones that might be to "Mature" for Nintendo's taste:
  • Super Smash Bros Warfare
  • Super Smash Bros Onslaught
  • Super Smash Bros Carnage
  • Super Smash Bros Blitzkreig

And maybe some more ridiculous ones:
  • Super Smash Bros Brouhaha
  • Super Smash Bros Fracass
  • Super Smash Bros Ruckus
  • Super Smash Bros Scrimmage
  • Super Smash Bros Scuffle
  • Super Smash Bros Tussle
  • Super Smash Bros Affray
  • Super Smash Bros Broil
  • Super Smash Bros Brush
  • Super Smash Bros Fray
  • Super Smash Bros Ruction
  • Super Smash Bros Rumpus

But Super Smash Bros for WiiU has that sexy '4' hidden in plain sight.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U. No need to mess with the name already in place.

The name was chosen so people know which game they are playing, and on which console you play said game.

I know this sounds stupid, but I know people who get confused between Melee and Brawl. The only one they "get" automatically by the name is the original, which nearly everyone refers to as something like "Smash 64".

While I don't like the name, I 100% get why it is called that.

Off-topic side comment, but if Halo 3 was called Halo 360, I might have died with laughter at that name, because Halo 5 would have to be called "Halo One". :rotfl:

Smash Bros for U.

"U get a Smash Bros, and U get a Smash Bros!"

...I'm sorry, that was horrible.

In following words like Melee and Brawl, "Rumble" is the only one I can think of that conveys the same type of hectic, four-man fighting. SSBR would be a distinct acronym, too. The drawback is that, in the gaming industry, "Rumble" refers to controller vibrations and so that's what 90% of the consumers will think of first when they see the title, rather than its intended meaning.

I hope that when SSB4 releases, the box titles will drop the "for X System" subtitles; they'd be a little redundant with the banner on the box already explicitly stating what console it's for. "Super Smash Bros." on its own is a fine title.

I personally like the fact that the 'for' also acts as a '4' and I'm pretty sure they did it on purpose.

I will second Rumble.

And holy s***, a 2001 user like myself shows up?
I'm actually a Nov 2000 user, but as history goes, there was the Great Forum Crash of 2001 which ended sometime in the middle of March 2001, and everyone had to make new profiles. Some of our old info was restored (such as member number) but not all of it for everyone

Super Smash Bros. All Stars Ba- nah that one is overused

I too, thought they would name it Smash Bros Universe. It just fits so well with the WiiU and that it is a game where characters from different Nintendo universes fight each other. Just seems so obvious. I also thought Smash Bros U was pretty likely, since they have named games in a similar way before. Just add the U! :p

However I must admit that I am warming up to the name it has. The hidden "4" in there is pretty clever.

Ridiculously-obvious SUPER SMASH BROS. UNIVERSE & DIMENSIONS.
I understand the idea, but I'd prefer that the titles include a verb.
There should be a simple, shorthand, understandable way of referring to the game.
Wanna Brawl? Let's Melee! Let's Smash.
Furthermore, keep in mind that the modes take after the game's unique identifier.
Using your title, we would have modes called Universe, Special Universe, Multi-Man Universe, Dimensions, Special Dimensions, and Multi-Man Dimensions. Not only could you not use the titles as an action, but the mode names don't convey the same meaning or have the same effect as the words "brawl" or "melee".

Super Smash Bros Smash.

Although honestly I can't think of anything actually good. Super Smash Bros Wii U (or just Super Smash Bros U) is good enough. I think Rumble might be one of the only actually plausible names, however.
