Well since you ignored my post last time I'll try again....

I would like to modify the momentum code with specific values for certain characters, I need however some info on the proper way to do this. I don't know where the character ID hex values are, nor do I understand exactly what you are doing with the modifier.

After some testing and thinking... these are the values I want to input.

Sonic: 40
CF: 45
Fox: 50
MK: 55
Sheik: 55
ZSS: 55
Charizard: 60
Pikachu: 60
Marth: 65
Diddy: 65
Everyone else: 80

Cuz the way it's going in my testing... most characters are not getting a huge benefit (if any) from this code even at 80%
I want to give the fastest characters, who are going to be able to break the code, nerfs because they seem too fast. For whatever reason everyone seems to want CF to have an obscene value for this code so he can feel like melee, but that feels like far too much to me...

There's some clear problems with the one you just posted (all testing on CF).

1) If you run, jump, then DJ backwards, you keep your momentum and get an insane distance on the back jump lol.

2) If you dash, then stop, you get still get the momentum on the next jump, whether forward or back.

3) The DJ cancels momentum, but you accelerate back to max speed during the rest of the jump. So you go fast, slow, then fast again.

That's all I noticed. Back to the drawing board I guess.

ok, that was an improvement over my last attempt... I got as far as loading a stage before my wii froze this time...

I used Spunits latest post, replacing the last few lines with my own values

Yeah I have to go back to the original one that I was testing... the most recent one was crazy

are those shorter versions of the old codes?

EDIT: even though the momentum code is prolly the one I like the best out of brawl+, I will wait till a few of the bugs are gone and I can pick the modifiers before I continue testing.

So can we assume a 100% bug-free momentum code is just around the corner? What's the current least glitched version so far? So many have been thrown around today I don't know where to begin.

Momentum is nice try the codes where everyones default is 50% and certain characters have specifics, also if u want perfect control use the friction code. I have notice something with the friction code though it reduces KB on the neutral A attacks and some smash attacks, it feels like u can follow up alot better.

I have a question about the code. Does this code actually take how fast you moving into account or does it give you a set momentum push as long as you are dashing or running? In melee, Falco for example only got his huge momentum boost if he jumped immediately after the dash. Once he went into the run, he didn't get as much momentum because he moves the fastest at the start of the dash than he does at the run.

Spunit, just wondering, do you still have melee? If you do, maybe that can really help you out on how this code should act. Just a thought!

Ok, I tried out your modifications in the OP, kupo, and Sonic does not feel like he gets 50% momentum. He still rockets across FD. Is it working for you?

you know what, I feel like the scale for the newer one is different. Falcon shot across much faster in V11 than V10

Oh yeah, we should seriously consider lowering Marth's momentum. He goes way too far.

I had the same impression as you guys... even at 40-50% modifier Sonic and CF fly across the stage.

Sonic, CF, Fox, Marth, MK, ZSS, and Sheik all need to be lowered. Maybe Diddy, Charizard, and Pikachu as well.

I'm at a huge smashfest ATM and people are dieing to try to new version... I'm hosting, so I don't have time to figure out the codes myself. I'd really appreciate this. And please disregard the code line limit when sending me the codes, we'll be switching and playing around.

What do you mean? Using those two lines I posted will load, but the other stuff won't. What is different about what you posted and whats in the OP? Just that you separated the easier o control (which I assume can be standalone similar to the ID fix) or is it fixed so I can use that 4 lines of character additions now?

EDIT: it seems by looking at it that its a fixed v10 so that I can add more characters without it crashing.

Oh I wish I new that. How do I know what to put? 32 in hex is not 1E. And does it matter if letters are upper or lower case?

It's the number of bytes, 1 byte is 2 hex digits. It would be 32 (20 hex) if you filled up the last line.

I gotta say, spunit, I'm confused now too. How bytes are in one line? 8?

If that were the case as an example, then one line would be 16 hex digits? Then what?
