I mostly play Falcon/Ganon, and it seems like theirs are noticeably worse with 1.25. Of course DK, Bowser, Link were already bad, this doesn't help. Mario isn't so great either. It seems like its more difficult to reverse your momentum. This also may be in conjunction with hitstun. (You do accelerate as you're flying outwards, right?) I really wouldn't want to lower hitstun any more than we already have.

Many characters are still fine though. No problems with Sheik, any of the flying chars, Snake, Rob, etc.

Meanwhile, some characters have a hell of a hard time trying to tick throw. Sonic can't effectively jab cancel for some reason, so jab>grab hardly ever works. Same goes with Fox/Falcon. If you try to tick throw quickly, you just go into rapid jabs/gentleman. No good.
It's the same homogenization that speeding up throws would accomplish. It's perfectly fine for certain characters to be better at certain techniques. Diversity is a good thing. Gannon should not be able to tick throw (unless you wanted to give him a big buff). In fact, characters with rapid jabs have an extra mindgame layer to their tick throws when you think about it. Sure, they might have to wait just long enough for the tick throw to be avoided, but if you know they're expecting it, you can just delay rapid jab which will catch them for sure. If they expect the rapid jabs, you can go ahead with the throw.

As for speeding up the lag on the end of throws, wouldn't that possibly re-introduce some chaingrab gayness? We already have a few more chaingrabs in the cast due to hitstun.

What, specifically, does that code do? ALR/DD/DC/LL?
Sorry wrong code

It does those plus FF and throw speed and ledge grab and SH. I believe it does all of those things. The DC and lagless doesn't work though

What's wrong with the one-line Buffer code, by the way?

Does it simply do nothing or does it reduce it to 0 no matter what value you put in? I have heard both and I was wondering what the actual answer is...

What do you guys think of the FF now a days? Using Kupo's set I think it's great for SHFFing Aerials, but it's annoying that an accidental fastfall basically spells doom when recovering. I felt it was limiting to my recovery options since I didn't feel safe fast falling because I might not be able to recover.

Also, I'm agreeing with SGX that Falcon and Ganon seem to have a really tough time recovering on 1.25 gravity. Same goes for Ike and some of the other's with **** recoveries. I think we agreed that we'd be giving some characters exemptions or different gravity values though right?

I really like my FF setting and the accidental FF wasn't that much of a problem in melee. I think its really good atm. I don't have a hard time recovering with falcon at all and ganon's up b isnt' affected by gravity. The only time I had trouble recovering with Ike or ganon or whomever was when my DI was bad for a kill move so I am not too worried about it atm

The soon to come gravity and SH codes can do great things for the game. Lets hope we know how to apply them correctly so we don't imbalance the game

Its a slow process, balancing it will be more difficult than you think :p

Its pretty sweet though right now, but some characters like falcon need their settings adjusted majorly.

Kupo please add MuBa's Code list to your site. And for some reason Thunder causes the game to freeze.
In my code set? My current one?

Since a lot have been asking, I'll just add it.
grr. we can't keep adding to the list. People are confused enough as it is. I'll make a note that its more for fun and the offical codeset prob won't this extreme

I see throw and jump speed mods in MuBa's set. should I just take the "throw and ump speed" code out? what about the constant write that has those values?

Don't be such a despot. Give MuBa a chance.
-1 to this

I have given the site and hacking instructions to old highschool friends, only to get calls later asking which codeset to use. It's confusing to people and by our awful human nature, many people are afraid to ask a question out of fear of looking stupid. I agree it should be on the list for download, but people should be reminded that Kupo's is what most are considering the official set right now. (Even if it's slowing turning into Mookie's)

EDIT: I see no auto-fire jabs is on the list of possible codes...

I just gotta ask, do we really consider that such a hindrance to the gameplay? Is the ability to hold A instead of tapping it making the skill gap too close? Seems a little ridiculous in my opinion. Plus I love my rapid fire Snake punches. :)

Kupo's code set considered official? That's ten pounds of **** in a five pound bag. The only reason people think that is because he slapped Official on his list a while ago of his own volition and for some reason people think he's the baron of Brawl+.

Someone has to take initiative in situations like this. The project is quickly expanding and more and more people are getting involved. We want to try and have everyone on a similar page and from what I can see most people are leaning between Mookie or Kupo's codes for the final product.

I'm not about to get into a flame war, it was a long school day and I need a nap, but I really haven't heard people make much of a fuss over the official codesets. His and Mookies are so close there isn't a jarring change between playing the two, but MuBa's is fast and furious. It feels a lot different.

In one instance it may not make a difference, but over an entire match it starts to add up. Also, some attacks are designed to be held, so it will help nerf attacks that can get you stuck in them.

seems to me that kupo slapped, Unofficial on his list of his own volition. I don't think he is the baron of Brawl+(although it is catchy) but i use his because its easier to just download it than to edit the code myself. if you have your own values that you think are better i would like to try them tho.

And he's doing a good job. It made it really easy when I first started. he really seems to listen to everyone and add their ideas as well. At least someone here is trying to make a standard. So many people will turn away if there is multiple versions of the game.

Why do you hate Kupo so much. He never even claimed his code set the official one. Are you selectively illiterate because you clearly couldn't read the un before official.

like the guy above me said you shouldn't be mad at this guy. he is trying to create something that you couldnt even fathom and you just make a post mocking him. he is trying to make a code set for a game where making code sets is a very difficult thing to do and it is very difficullt for him so he probably doesn't need people like you trying to take a **** all over his face.

Couldn't even fathom? I think you're putting Kupo on a pedestal here. He made a thread about what we need to add to the game, compiles ideas, and talks to the hackers. And he's pretty good at the same itself. And because of the first couple of things, it's his voice that gets heard more, that's all there really is to it.

Kupo - "The Baron of Brawl+" aka 'The Code Nazi"

Mookie - "Some Guy with a Purple Name" aka "The Fun Speed Activator"

MuBa - "The Extremest" aka "Put My Codeset Up"

Kupo's doing good, as long as he keeps an open mind Brawl+ will become what most want it to be. Also: multiple code sets are the cause of thousands of deaths each year. That, and we don't want/need them.

Thanks again.

Only reason why I wanted my code set up there is for people to experiment with 3 different settings. Jeez you guys are making a big deal out of this.

Mild, medium, and extreme. That's it. Nothing else.

i dont know if it means anything but.... i happen to think mubas codeset is the most enjoyable.

im not knocking kupos and mookies but I kinda like the extreme values. Add a few char specific gravs and changes and the aerial momentum and I think we'd have a winner.

on another subject... call me a noob but, what is the debug code for? xD

I think the one mookie is posting will be more along the jump heights in Muba's, but just for the characters that profit from it. I can't wait to try the specific jump one.

There was too much resistance to the dash speed past 1.2 sadly... so it looks like 1.15-1.17 is going to be the norm for now. I think with a faster tech roll there isn't a large reason to keep the speed that low, but no real need to start that debate until the momentum code is out. Dash speed may work great at 1.17 with the momentum code stacked on.
