configuring controller for online play

What should I put the settings for the controller to make it feel like the console? Specifically the analog stick range and dead-zone range.


I'm using an N64 controller with an adapter. I'm using this adapter:

I have my range set at 80% and deadzone at 5%. It's probably optimal to modify those values as your stick deteriorates, but meh, I'm lazy, and it's hard to find the best values. :/

Any ideas for a PS2 controller with the same plug in?
