Devolution alternate controllers

I just found out that Devolution on Wii/WiiU supports classic controllers, wiiU pro, and ps3 controllers. Has anybody tried any of these for melee and are they easy to adapt to and use? I tried the ps3 controller and it's alright but very difficult to wavedash normally and the button layout makes it harder for me personally to do slide inputs like shdl. C-stick is also not ideal with a bigger stick but it's usable.

I don't have a CC, CC pro, or WiiU Pro so I'm wondering what fellow melee players who have experience with them think of them as alternate controllers.

**** i wish i knew but i basically just assume gamecube controller is too good, because it is too good.

You could just replace the stick to make it smaller
