We also had someone entered their level 50 pikachu amiibo and it was super hype! It got 17th place beating a fair share of players.

We also did a 4v4 8 player smash for shirts. It was super fun and chaotic. Overall, it was amazing with random team combos everywhere!

a lvl 50 amiibo will already have increased stats (amiibo's stats go up as they level). as far as having been fed equipment then thats a good question.

Yeah, you're right. I mostly mean the recent number of Diddy Kongs has expanded across all tournaments. Of the top 8 at this tournament, 4 of them were of Kong descent. Diddy Kong isn't number 1 (to early for a number 1 anyway), but his popularity right now is about as high as his tier.

Southpaw and Will mained Diddy in Brawl before the smash 4 bandwagon started. Once he gets nerfed people will find a new character to flock to
