Good Programs For Capturing Still Images from Capture Devices?

I'm using Dazzle and EasyCAP and the programs that come with them take horrible screenshots >_>

I've seen only bmp and jpeg files from it. I don't see any options that will let me take snapshots in png -_-

Does anyone have any suggestions about this? I'll try downloading virtualdub and see what I can get from that...

Why not just save as BMP and then save that as PNG? Both are lossless formats.

When I take the snapshot it saves in bmp by default. The quality of it looks terrible. When I save it as png, it still looks the same :|

That might be an issue of the capture card, not the software. If you still feel it isn't, record the video and take snapshots of the video in your favorite media player.
