Jesus, you must be like some sort of guy who worked on the development of Brawl, secretly compromising for it's big disappointment areas. Or like the others said, you're actually Sakurai or Miyamoto in disguise

I think it's was actually his range, weight and lack of good kill moves that did that. The self damage was just a nuisance.

Can this event effectively heal by putting in a negative number for the scalar value?

No? When I tried it I was able to. I was even able to go negative in damage giving the character a nifty damage buffer where they wouldn't receive any knockback until they were damaged beyond 0.

How would I add this to events.txt? I tried just putting in:

Damage Mod
Change character's damage level
1

Into events.txt, once between the camera control and the thing that starts with 1F, where it would seemingly make sense, but that just bugged up and refused to let events.txt do anything. >.>

He's low tier because of poor range, poor strength and poor weight, all fo his good attacks don't damage himself except for Neutral Special.
