Previously, if a Snake/TL/Link item held an explosive (nade or bomb), an IC player had to hope and pray to finish the CG prior to the explosion occurring.
With proper timing, you don't have to.
If you hobble someone, you can time the explosion to go off during their forced get up animation. Since characters have 21 frames of invincibility of forced getup, the bomb won't affect them. During hobble, they have 40 frames of flop plus the standard getup, which gives you nearly a second to walk away from the blast, and then dash grab in after the explosion.
While this does require roughly 84 frames of start up, it's better than the situation where item holding would guarantee ending of CGs.
This honestly could be matchup altering against TL/Link and at the very least force snakes to cook nades closer to explosion time, increasing chances that they'll mess up and do damage to themselves.
