Fallout 3: GotY Edition is $25 on Steam today. Dunno if I should get it, I already have quite a ridiculous backlog of steam and wii games nowadays.

I really just want AiB Ikes to just go to offline tourneys and stop being babies about it.

I believe if zac/xyro would have held phase 12 at the usual venue or anywhere else where they charge money, the winnings would be so much larger but apparently they wanted to trust quake con

You weren't there. That had absolutely nothing to do with anything. It was awful for other reasons.

Wait, what happened at Quakecon, Slaps?
Besides the lack of room, and terrible amounts of set ups...

@Brett: Oh.
Was there anything else wrong at the venue?

Espy, Slaps wasn't there.

Quakecon was supposed to provide us with a mic or megaphone, but we never got one. Xyro was either yelling over 1000s of people or sending out lackeys to go get the people who were up. I had to constantly keep tabs on my phone to make sure I didn't get a text saying I was up. Furthermore, because of time restraints and lack of communication, Xyro had to change the tourny format.

If you didn't get past the first two rounds, you were eliminated. No losers bracket for you.
If you did get past the first two rounds, you were put in losers bracket if you lost.

Wow. That sounds like a terrible experience.

...as bad as it sounds, gotta give credit to Xyro for muscling his way through that nonsense.

Yeah, but it was so bad he said he's NEVER doing another Quake Con tourney again.

And I'm definitely not going to attend another one again.

About 3 tourneys happened at the same time (this is only at the beginning-- about 8 tourneys or more happened in all), each of these beginning tourneys with well over 100 players, all in one small corner of a room. They provided one megaphone for the combined 3 events. No room for setups. Very few chairs for what we needed. Other tournaments were run by volunteers who COULD NOT CHECK BRACKETS AND CALL MATCHES, so they all took about 10 hours (I **** you not). Therefore, the space never cleared up.

99.9% of the space in the room was just tables for everyone's personal computers. Those people probably downloaded furry porn from each other behind their programs that were showing on the screen. What did they do visibly? Watched movies and played story/campaign mode on single player games (at LEAST 50% of them). So, literally thousands of people could have just stayed home, played their games, watched their movies, and used some sort of file share to download their yiff mania from each other.

****, I missed out on furry porn.
You could've omitted that part and made me feel good about not going, Brett. :(

Okay then. It was probably BAD furry porn.

Not like BlazBlue Makoto. More like Dora the Explorer's monkey friend.

And if that doesn't make you feel good about not going, may the gods have mercy upon your soul.

Thanks for clarifying, Brett.
Now I feel glad for deciding to go to a party instead.

It wasn't common when I made the stages. But seeing how the new stagelist is, I should probably add more detail to it.

Short answer: Yes, if you know what you're doing, and it's not a few select characters.

Don't pick PTAD against Meta Knight, Pit or D3 and you should be good to go.

Knowing what you are doing is optional. Recommended, but optional.

those sure did help alot. though i wish my DI was just as good.

Olimar with his pivot is just a pain for me. There r rarely any pro vids of ike VS olimar where ike wins; and i don't think the tourney where san won against an olimar was uploaded either.

Bored, the only reason I laughed about it is because that clip is like everywhere for some reason. I would be heated. And yes, it is ridiculous.

From Vietnam to Michigan! ^-^
Changed thread title back to a default for now, you guys are taking this Stark thing a bit too far and I don't like it.

I have two matches from a set up against an Olimar where I win one and lose one, it's from quite some time ago and Olimar was the guy's secondary. Nevertheless, here they are:

I watched both vids and I must say you put up a good fight! ^-^ I still wish to show off my Ike, though... :(

So who are some good secondaries for Ike besides the obvious MetaKnight? The guide doesn't say anything about that.

Also i'd like to know what people think of Distant Planet for Ike.

distant planet is legit

Ike's problem MUs: MK, Marth, DDD, Olimar, and to some extend Falco

Add in your personal bad MUs~

Best 2ndary: Marth

Why: Marth is the only character that goes even with himself that doesn't get gay'd by DDD and Olimar, however MK you're kinda on your own and DDD does still go well against Marth

Well.. actually

Our statistical best 2ndary is in fact ICs.. but good luck learning them lololol

ICs vs DDD 60:40
ICs vs Olimar 50:50 to 55:45
ICs vs Marth 50:50
ICs vs MK 40:60
ICs vs Falco 60:40

Falco seems like a decent choice too. He's better against MK and DDD compared to Marth, at least. So I guess it also depends on which characters you are having more trouble against as Ike.

Haven't played much on Distant planet yet, so I can't say anything about that. Doesn't look bad though.

Got back from tournament, got 13th. Wanted to get 9th and I was so close to it but I blame lag TVs. lolol
I didn't get to play Brood but I played quite a few friendlies with Fujita, a Japanese Falco player. I was surprised when I actually JV'd 3 stocked him once but we won/lost an even amount of matches. Ike v Falco in boxing match=lol.

Speaking about Oli, the pikmin he plucks is apparently influenced by what stage you play on. .-.

I also saved a buttload of friendlies vs Kirin's and Jash's Link.

Yah RC is good if you're comfortable with it, and Japes can be good provided you know the stage well and the Olimar player doesn't. The water can really mess up his Pikmin if you control the stage well. The only downside to Japes against Olimar is the obvious: the water can redeem his terrible recovery on the right side, but so can it redeem ours.

I sometimes take Olimars to Frigate but that's just because I like Frigate. The right ledge is just as bad for us if you don't know how to play the stage, but I love the fact that it basically eliminates the challenge of edge-guarding Olimar because there's no ledge for him to use at all. The second part of the stage is generally pretty good for Ike too.

say craysyn, why do you always end you're post with a nidoking? did you get some sort of epic win with that pokemon?
I got the idea a while ago from some other users who do it with other Pokemon, and I like Nidoking a lot, so I went with him. My posts used to look normal like everyone else's (many of the regulars here can attest to that), but I think it was at exactly 400 post count that I started making my text blue and signing off with Nidoking.

And gratz Bored, definitely not bad.
