Smash Ace
Salutations Smashers!
A few of you may remember the small fundraiser tourney I helped host last year in February called Smash for Haiti. The same team and I are back at it again with Gamers for Charity, an organization we hope to grow to raise money for local charities. Eventually we will start hosting tournaments featuring other games, but right now we are focusing on Melee (because it is my love).
Last year we were able to raise a large chunk of what Hendrick House donated to Haiti. We hope to do this again for the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club. This is a local charity that helps out underprivileged kids from the Champaign Urbana area. If you would like more information click here.
when
April 16
11AM – 11PM
where
Hendrick House
904 W. Green St.
Urbana, IL 61801
parking
Parking Lot D9, just across Hendrick House.
This is going to be on the entire first floor and lobby of Hendrick House. We have plenty of room for set-ups, but PLEASE BRING [FULL] SET-UPS. It will wave the entire fee (but you can still donate if you want). We need need a lot of set ups for the amount of people showing up. A full set-up includes a (playable) TV + Console + Game. And, as you should know, SFH is a BYOC event. We're going to need to, at a certain point, turn away set-ups. But we'll try not to.
entry*
$10 Entrance Fee
$5 Entrance Fee for Students.
*again, this entry fee is your donation. It does NOT go to a pot for winners and goes straight to our charities.
prizes
Prizes ATM [not confirmed] are Amazon gift cards, and other gifts provided by sponsor companies. We promise to give prizes away [on time] this year.
Asides from Melee, helping people out is another one of my passions, so that is why I and my team do these tournaments and fundraisers.
