So

Turns out my Wii's disc drive motor is broke, not a dirty disc reader.

Trying to get a copy of Brawl on a harddrive without using a torrent download.

Woooow this is a pain.

Question: Can you use Brawl from a harddrive AND load texture hacks from an SD card, or would you have to do that from the regular disc drive? Because I don't want to make things too complicated on myself or anything before I've even figured out how to play games off of a modded hard drive.

The only reason Frigate's bad is the right side of the first transformation. Some characters can murder Link there by pressuring him off the edge. Aside from that it's like a better platform layout SV, based on size.

3 SS had great sword controls. I hope they fix the aiming but keep and expand the swordplay. TP's aiming system was awesome and let you snipe birds from across the field. More sword fights and less sword 'puzzle' enemies. Make combat challenging even after you know how to cut the enemy.

Also after watching Kid Icarus on youtube I thought, 'I have even more respect for Link and less for the "dweeb" Pit'. I really don't like that direction for the Zelda series and Link talking would hurt his character. Link's mystique is largely because he doesn't talk. Link is not an RPG character, he is standing in place of the player; you are Link on an epic adventure. RPGs are good but that's not what Zelda games are. What's Link going to talk about, pot breaking puns?!
6 Bring back Majora's Mask and Sheik! Aaaand Epona!

I prefer TP's style but SS was okay. It should get a graphic boost this time. The big concern is I hope they take the game seriously, not cheesy (Spirit Tracks, KI Uprising, etc) and bring back the huge mysterious world to explore theme. SS was too level by level. I prefer the Mario Galaxy 1 hub over the Galaxy 2 level track in games. That's a big reason why MM is my favorite Zelda: it felt like a mysterious world more than an arranged game.

Spoiler tags for my comments on the article because I don't know how to do the collapsable bubble thingy that Rizen did.
Aside from making the most vague and unverifiable assertions possible to even decide whether or not this was a load of bull after the game is released, the assertions are so vague and unverifiable as to make them not even tempting to dwell on now.

Might be getting a digital copy of Brawl today. Yay for texture hacks!

Yo Ano, I can confirm that you can use texture hacks from an SD and play it Brawl off a hardrive. That's the way I've been doing it for years ever since my Wii's disc reader broke. After a fail attempt at trying to fix it, I gave hacking a try and it's probably been the greatest thing.

On the last server I could click 'back' and go to my recent activity threads and the thread I looked at would be refreshed to no new posts (since I just viewed it). This server doesn't do that :( . Oh well.

I hate when I play wifi friendlies and the person I beat says I'm bad. I beat their DK, PT, G&W and others with my Ganon. I offered to quit because we were lag SDing about once a game but he said it was fine then I beat his lag G&W with Ganon and he said I was trash and getting away with lag stuff.
^that's the only way to tell if someone's a scrub in lag friendlies; they act like it matters.

It'd be nice to just play wifi without jerk stress :/.

No, but I did hack it so I could play games off of a hard drive. WiFi works, too.

EDIT: For the intent of this conversation, yes, I fixed it.

I'm considering getting into it. I feel very confident in my Link abilities. It's like he was made for me. The trick will be hosting it at tournaments I run as well as getting people to come for it. :)
