PM: Apex 2014 Rules

Blind Picks and Neutral Starts are at the request of the player.
People, Parking, and Food:
Expected Turnout: 50-70, not including spectators and friendlies players.
Time to be here: 12 to 12:30; Brackets will start at 1:20 and you will forfeit a match you are not there for it. Once pools start: absence at the start of your match means forfeiting the match. You will still have your other games, but you can't make up for that match. If you come late for Melee, plan to be there before registration starts. You may have a chance for friendlies before registering; this is because if pools finish early, then setups will be open to friendlies until the scheduled time for The Top 8.
Parking: There is a sizable lot in front of TradeWind and a variety of parking places near the facilities that are in walking distance and visible from the venue.
Food: The venue will possibly be selling food and drink (snacks are more likely). In addition, there are a few places near by like La Huerta Mexican Restaurant across the street, Thai Diner down the road, and Flying Burrito further along North College. The usual suspects for Fast Food line North College Avenue and MLK if you wish for that as well. It is advised to get food before the tournament or getting food from the venue; that is unless you either are not doing one of the brackets, not watching the top 8 for a bracket, or pools finish extremely early. Since you will be busy either playing a match or watching a match all during pools (you may not be called for and just forfeited, since you will be told ahead of time what match you are playing after), getting food in the middle of them may cause you miss (therefore forfeit) a match.
The Nexus: The rules for the "Nexus" (the bring your own setups station) will still apply. We are not liable for your setups used for the Nexus. It is for your own friendlies. Any Fighting Games will be allowed for the Nexus, but clarify with a TO if a particular game may seem questionable (i.e. Bushido Blade, 3D Fighter Maker, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3). Street Fighter, Cross Tekken, Skull Girls, Marvel vs Capcom, and other obvious ones should be welcome. We are happy to verify what you can bring ahead of time and make an announcement of who is bringing what so we can have great side matches and friendlies going on. If you have N64, please bring it as we are still gathering information on interest in it in the area.
The Command Center: Our registration desk will still be pretty automated. We are still lending out controllers, but please bring your own if you have some. We are still providing a place for you to set your stuff. We are still providing tape and markers to label your stuff with (which we advise you use).

Edits:
We are completing our tour of events through our sponsors. Our last sponsor to run a tournament at is TradeWind Games. We will be utilizing their front area and their gaming room called, "The Bunker." You can feel the Starcraft puns run through your veins already. We are finally expanding on how we wish to try pools. Swiss will hopefully give everyone a guaranteed amount of games as well as really give people a way to see how well they're performing. Hopefully, recording matches will continue. There are a lot more tournaments coming up in Arkansas and Melee Waylay hopes to still be a small part in the greater whole of Arkansas Smash by providing locals that's worth newer and experienced player's time and money to come out to. Stay tuned, because there are more announcements. We post them on our social media.
