I figured out how!

Open Target test level one on brawlbox and open up ARC #2

go to model data #2

Open the target node model and zoom out, until you see the endpoints of the lines you see

Those endpoints are the target positions, modify them how you like.

(Sorry, I had to rush to make this, I'll make it better later)

Anyways, pics!
(Where you should be)

(What it should look like)

Also note that some stages have different ways of setting target positions, like the ones with moving targets, so make sure you just use BTT#1 for making customs. Anyone want to make a GUI for this? Complete with model swapping and seeing where the targets are moved?

That's really sick, once I get my Wii modded again I cant wait to test this out. It'll be cool to test some model swapped stages/sse stages. Hopefully we can remake the N64/melee target tests once this gets figured out mor

I don't think no one cares, it's probably just the fact that people have already been making modified target test levels for a while now.

Do it, I'd like to see some new target smash stages. Only having 5 was lazy on Nintendo's part.

I was thinking about using custom target smash stages along with the Alternate Stage Loader code to have new and randomizing target smashes. Having at least 1 new one for each difficulty would be awesome.

K, I got one working, but I need someone to help me with collision data. When you load the stage in game, the collision data ends up waaaay of the model.
