It's not possible because of loading times.

Okay, I'll elaborate, but only because I'll look bad if I don't.

In Melee, when you played as Zelda/Sheik, both of them were already in the game's memory. The swap animation was mainly aesthetic, although there was a little bit of runtime changing some pointers.

In Brawl, the game stores only very small amounts of information about the other character while you're playing one of them. When you transform, it's actually loading the information from the disk into the game. It's not that much data comparitively, but loading from disk is much slower than loading from memory, and you must consider that the game is also progressing while the stuff is being loaded (as opposed to at the start of the game where the processor is focusing solely on setting everything up.

You can shorten transition times by pausing during it, lulz.
Would it be feasible to have the game load zelda and sheik (and the pokemon, while we're at it) from the sd card using PW's dynamic SD loader? I would think that would reduce the load times.

well what i usually do is use my wii and download codes from wiird and the codes go to a file on my sd called txtcodes then i go to wiicm click the ones i want activated and it works. but when i make my own it just freezes

Just transfer the codes on your SD card to a txt file on your pc. Basically, do the same thin that I said, and everything should work fine.

Loading from the SD is as fast as loading from the Disc. The issue is that there is not enough space in RAM for this stuff to be placed. It's the kind of thing that theoretically is possible but I wouldn't get ready for.

Uhhhhm hi. I've been searching the internet for months for information on how to install the homebrew channel and use gecko/ocarina. I doubt this is in the right thread and I have no idea how to use the website but I'm kinda desperate to learn something...... can any give some insight? Please??????

Is it possible to make Zelda's and Sheik's transform shorter, like in Melee? It takes ages to transform from Zelda <-> Sheik. I've heard that it has something to do with 'loading times' and 'Wii CD is big so it takes longer', but I was just wondering.
Another way to shorten the load times without pausing is to run Smash from copy of your Brawl disk backed up on a USB drive. Since the information is accessed quicker on the drive load times are greatly reduced. The current methods to do so, however, do lot allow GeckoOS to be used as well.

I'm not sure if I can discuss any further on how to do any of this on these boards.

can someone post the code for the character select screen to show zss, sheik, ivysaur, squirtle and charizard separately? and would this cause problems across wifi? (i wouldn't see why it would)

The Custom CSS code should already be in the Code Agenda. Just press "Ctrl+F" and type in "Custom CSS" and it should be there. Also, to the best of my knowledge, it does not cause problems on WiFi.

Zodac: "Alloys don't freeze and don't wreck my Music" code is somewhere.

Patoons: Brawl+ 4.0 is out, the CSS is included. If you don't want Brawl+, download the file from Shanus's codeset and look at the text file inside. It has what you're looking for. (Don't ask me where Shanus's codeset is, can't provide atm)

QUESTION:

Is there possibly a code that creates invisible walls/barriers? An example:

Guilty Gear/Street Fighter's walls on the side of the screen.

I'm not entirely sure how this works. I have not seen a description of the code, but it sounds like you can use it to load a separate .gct in the snapshots section in Brawl. Is that true?

How about a code to disable the character portraits at the bottom? Smash 64 and Melee didn't have them, so neither should Brawl+.

While I respect your request for a code, as well all have things we would like, this kind of logic is just flawed to me.

If this kind of logic were applied to everything, we'd all be wearing the same color shirts every day and eating the same flavor foods.

I'm working on a project related to Smash, and one thing that would really help me out is if I could get a code to put characters in their T-pose. It sounds simple to me, but what do I know?

before I could move on I just needed to know if there was one, or if someone would be kind enough to make one.

Sorry again for the obnoxious 'attention'. I'm just in a hurry to find out.

I've probably asked this before and i guess it didn't get answered, but would it be possible to set up a code that would have velocity and/or momentum effect damage?

If you mess around with different moveswaps, using specials will sometimes force them into a T pose. You'll have to see which ones don't freeze though.

Indeed, but that would be such a time-consuming hassle. I'm needing to get at least two separate batches of screenshots of every playable character in their T-pose.

Has anyone use CSPs with a Custom character select screen? I had all of my CSPs working fine, then i aded a new CSS and all of a sudden they didnt work. Just wanted to know if anyone had a solution.

now that you mention it, how do CSP's work, and can they be used with the texture loader 1.1? (I prefer 1.1 because you keep the default textures as well as the custom. I'm also a patient person.)

speaking of sound effects, and what with music hacks being possible, could there maybe be a way to swap sound effects too? Say I have the Roy texture hack for Ike. If I were to have sound effect swaps for Ike to sound like Roy form Melee, then that'd be amazing.
