I keep getting an error while expanding some .rar files with Stuffit Expander. Could anybody help me out? I'm on Mac OS X, by the way.

Ive decided to go for the torrent. It's the best option for now, but...

My download speed (using uTorrent) is extremely erratic. It's been as low as 0.1 kb/sec, taking several days to complete, and as high as 230+ kb/sec, taking an hour and a half. Any tips?

I know nothing about Torrents, how does this work exactly?
You download a torrent program (Utorrent, ABC...) and then when you download a torrent file, it hsould automatically be associated with that program, download it to open and your torrent program should pick it up automatically. It works on a P2P system, you download off of other people who have more of it (if not all) downloaded, you are a leecher. once you've donloaded it, if you keep the torrent open you will seed the file to other users (being the nice person that you are). Bear in mind that this take a LOAD of bandwidth. I'm having trouble as no US people are seeding at the times I'm on.

Basically Torrents allow you to download and upload a file(s) from people online. You just need a torrent program and then just download the torrent file via that program and the program takes care of the rest.

Depending on the program you may need to adjust your firewall settings or the file will download really slowly.

The awesome part about torrents is the ability to download (ie. leech) and upload (ie. seed) at the same time. That's why it's such a popular file type.

The password is "luelinks".

To seed, the torrent usually starts seeding automatically after it's finished downloading. Seeding can also up your ratio.

Look at the tracklist in my last post, I think it's right.

Hey, guys.
I though I should warn all of you who are going to name their mp3s based on Aryman's new list.
Once again, the letters U and T have been mixed up here.
...
It took me a while before I figured this out.
You can't imagine how much/loudly I've been swearing at my wrongly named files until now. ^^

Yeah I did my first time too. I just decided to download this http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4009728/Super_Smash_Bros_Brawl_-SoundTrack It doesn't have the song names but I don't need them. I just listen to the music and delete the songs I don't like. Which means all of those horrible Sonic vocal songs.
Me too, I'll delete all the vocal songs, they are not appealing as video game music at all in my book.

but I'll wait until the full track list is hosted to download, The names of the songs are really important.

EDIT: hey guys, do you have this in high quality?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itzhyb3T4D4

It will last for me until the track list is finally hosted to download.

Torrents are so slow, I can never get more than 20kbps off them. Ah well, it won't take too long, can't wait!

The reason why on that list is because T is 4 various Smash Bros. songs that seperates Metal Gear Music and Sonic music. So the list creator switched T and U to place those 4 songs with the correct section.

Really, it's not *that* much of a hassle if you're paying attention plus it'll still be in alphabetical order when you sort it if that's what you want.

It's already uploaded to Megaupload, for those who haven't gotten it yet.

Part 1: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L9RESD05 (1-25) (99mb)
Part 2: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RG8UY9B9 (26-125) (418mb)
Part 3: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XJ5ROFCH (126-201) (283mb)
Part 4: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T5VBCG96 (201-314) (326mb)

I don't think there are any sites that let you host a 1 gig file, so thats the best you can do. I also don't know if those files are named, because I got mine from a torrent. But in case you haven't gotten them yet, there you are.
hey dude i downloaded it and its on winRAR and it needs a password
can you help me?

Looking for our princess in another castle.
If all of the skipped track names (A11 for example) are missing tracks, then that makes 360 tracks! As for the two skipped Mario song titles, perhaps there's a code in Mario Galaxy that, when Brawl detects a Mario Galaxy save file, copies two tracks from Mario Galaxy into Brawl's memory. It's possible.

Thanks a ton, I love this soundtrack!

Downloading Instructions

Ok, we really need to have a centralized way of explaining for those that don't know what the heck they're doing. So I'm going to write this quick tutorial.

---
For Those Using MegaUpload:
---

Here are the individual links.

Part 1: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L9RESD05 (1-25) (99mb)
Part 2: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RG8UY9B9 (26-125) (418mb)
Part 3: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XJ5ROFCH (126-201) (283mb)
Part 4: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T5VBCG96 (201-314) (326mb)

Now, after having downloaded from those links, following the simple directions, you're going to need a program to unpack the Rar files.

For Windows Users use WinRar. You can find it here: http://winrar.downloadcenterz.com/
For Mac OS X Users use UnRarX. You can find it here: http://www.unrarx.com/

These programs are used to decompress rar files. It works similar to winzip. Once you try to open the rar files, you'll be asked to provide a password. The password is "luelinks." Then, just choose a directory or file to extract the rar to (all the tracks, etc.) It's that easy.

For Those Using the Torrent
---

While the MegaUpload method may be faster, it is beneficial to the community at large to help in seeding a torrent. Eventually if enough people are seeding, all 1.1gb of the soundtrack will be available for download really quickly.

First, you'll need a torrent client/program. I recommend utorrent which can be found here: http://www.utorrent.com/

Now, once you have the torrent client or program, click on the torrent link Xane provided or copy its destination into your torrent client/program. Use this: http://xane.gamez-interactive.de/Pub/Downloads/Misc/NochMISCer/SmashBrosBrawlOST.torrent

You'll have to familiarize yourself for a bit with the program and that goes far beyond the scope of this mini-FAQ.

Ok, once you've figured out how to download the torrent through the client/program you may be wondering what's the seeding/leeching stuff and why is it downloading so slowly? You'll have to go into your torrent/client's settings and adjust the download limits and upload limits. I suggest having no download limits and at least 10kpbs upload minutes. This means you'll download as much as your connection will allow, and at the same time, you'll be uploading to other users (mainly SmashBoard members).

For torrents to work really well for you and for others, you will need to leave your torrent client on while it downloads, and your internet connection on. Then, after it is done downloading, for the benefit of others you should still leave the client program on and the internet connection on for an additional amount of time equal to the time it took for you to download the file. It's just proper manners.

Now, once you download it through the torrent where are the files? If you mess around with your client's settings, you can choose a destination folder for full downloads, but most of the time they are in your clients' default folders and you can just move them away from there.

That is all.

Thanks so much. I'll be sure to keep mine up for a few days so people can seed. Getting some of the clips of unfinished songs and it sounds great!

WinRAR is for windows. What about options for Mac Users? My StuffIt Expander is giving me some errors when expanding.
