@Matt, it IS pretty bad *** this go around, man. You should like....follow it on Youtube or something.
Lol YouTube, it takes over 10 minutes to download 2 minutes and 30 seconds of a video...

I took your advice of "smackin' it." But it didn't work :(.

I'll try and find a way though, since this season looks pretty ******.

**** it! I finally got some free time to finish a photoshop for Cracked's next contest only to log on to the forum to post it. . . Yesterday someone posted the exact same idea.

****. I've been planning on finishing this for like the past 3 or 4 days but didn't have time. :(

Well, I guess I'll see how well that pic does for some consolation. (If it wins I'll be ****ed off though )

Oh man, I loved 1984! What was your favourite part? Mine was that part where O'Brien is holding four fingers up, increasing the voltage on Winston's torture device and is all like "How many fingers am I holding up?" And Winston keeps saying four and O'Brien keeps turning up the voltage and then Winston tries telling O'Brien what he wants to hear, but O'Brien calls Winston out on that. When Winston finally, truthfully said that he didn't know how many fingers O'Brien was holding up, and O'Brien, turning down the voltage, saying "Better," I gotta say, that was the first time a found a book to be chilling.

=)

Everyone needs to read this book, and understand the message. Unfortunately, things seem to be heading more towards the 1984 direction than away from it :( Despite the book being set in Britain, written by a British author, the message didn't sink in even at his home country; England has cameras pretty much everywhere.

Best book I ever read. Orwell is my absolute favorite author of all time.

Kafka and Wilde come close, though.

^^Haven't read it, but I heard it was really good, too.

Animal was also amazing.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

EDIT: yes, animal farm is what I meant.

Animal Farm, you mean?

Brave New World was good. . . but I was forced to read it for school. I think had I read it on my own without all the chapter-by-chapter reports I would have enjoyed it more. Same situation with Lord of the Flies, I love the concept of the book but being forced to write about it as much as I did killed my enthusiasm for it.

You know what doesn't impress me? Shakespeare and his Iambic pentameter.

What's everyone's favourite/least favourite of his works that you've read and how come?

Also, Mike, try reading Atlas Shrugged for HS. I chose it for my independent study and man, I got ****ing owned. Reading it in one month was NOT possible.

First off, the fact that they can be remotely turned on and activated at any time without the students knowing is kind of creepy and stalkerish in a bunch of ways, and secondly....have none of the students thought to y'know, put tape over the cam's lense? lol

That is so ****ed up. What if some kid is beating off and his teacher watches him? O_O

And they didn't know it there was a cam watching them. If they did, I assume there'd be a lot of broken macs.

Then the teacher gets arrested for child pornography.

I can't imagine what the heck they were thinking when they decided they wanted to watch what kids do.

They were probably thinking "I gotta get me some of that"

regarding the Shakespere thing

Favourite: A Mid Summer Nights Dream (lulzy LSD trip)

Least: Julius Ceaser (I loved how Rome collapsed in a month)

man atlas shrugged is the most boring read
sitting around talking about nothing
and how they are smart and superior
and rich because they are conservatives
as literature goes its important
since nothing else exists which demonstrates
a romanticized conservative view
but as a book its really dull to read
and if you think shakespear is not a boss
you're just plain wrong, it's hard, i'm at a loss
he even ends it with a rhyming pair
as a stage queue, so there is no dead air

I am not impressed because his thing is all about iambic pentameter. Yes, it's absurdly impressive in terms of tech skill, but his stories were only alright imo and to me, the story counts for more than the tech skill. I mean, Jane Austen wrote fantastically; every one of her sentences was a work of art in and of itself. But god**** was Pride and Prejudice boring as ****. I think Shakes only seems really deep cause people have been critically analyzing his works for over 9000 years. I mean, X-men could probably get the same level of prestige if it was created 400 years ago.

Anyways, I did read his stuff and I did understand it because of this link which has his original stuff put word for word beside a translation into english and an explaination of slang and whatnot if needed. I strongly recommend that everyone read Hamlet at least.

I have to say, Atlas Shrugged is one of my favourite accomplishments. It's SOOOOO long, especially the chapter that's supposed to be three hours long and just a repetition of the first paragraph over and over again =*(

EDIT: btw, that was a really ****ing cool way of making your point.

I like a lot of Shakespear, personally, though I haven't read tooo much. I'm also an actor, so I've encountered his works as plays and in english class.

I personally like Macbeth the best, with Romeo and Juilet as a close second. I never ran into a play that I've hated per say, but I found Merchent of Venise kinda meh (though it had some great moments).

Hamlet is pretty fun, though I'm not sure where the modern interpratations of Oedipus complex come in...

On an unrelated note, have any of you guys played Nocturn for the PS2? I'm going through it now, and I love it. It's like the good parts of pokemon, monster rancher, and FF all rolled into one.

Shylock was so misunderstood =*(

Never heard of Nocturn, but it definately sounds like something I want to check out. On that note...

@ALAN!!- I am calling you out, son! $7 MM in pkmn for Friday, 4th gen. And before you john, I won't be using any hacks at all. No GS/AR or anything, all 100% legit. For the final biweekly, and the final smashfest, an epic pkmn match is in order. Let's get some hype going! You gonna step up?

Or back down?

Hmmmmmm...this could require a lot of effort and work...I'd need to study my egg groups intensively, etc etc...

I will probably have to back down due to lack of in-game resources at hand currently.

I probably won't be motivated to do mass training and stuff until HG/SS is released.

But THEN, to make up for it, we can have an HG/SS match and record it as a warstory. Same $7, etc etc.

I don't WANT to back down, but I just don't have that will to put mass amounts of time into breeding for nature and Egg Moves, catching Pokemon I don't have and doing stuff with that, etc etc.

TL;DR johning anyway because I don't touch my Pearl often.
