Wait a minute. if we have an extra stage, what song will play?

Because if you replace the Wi-fi waiting room then you know what BRSTM to replace, but i wanted to try this code and want to know if it will screw up any of the official levels.

If you have an extra stage using PW's, it will play songs from Battlefield's selection.

Also, those extra stages appear on the my music menu. If you select them there, they have their own single piece of music that always plays. It's called-beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

It's a shame song injection never came out though. But oh well.

Here is a link to the original explanation by the Custom SSS's creator: http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=5950296&postcount=892

It is confusing. But I believe that if you change the last 3 lines:

Code:
2E3BFFFF 40024101
42024301 44024501
46024701 48020000
And change 4802, 4701, and 4602 to all 0s you will remove the last 3 stages. Also you must change the byte count, 66, in the line:

06407AAC 00000066

So that should just be 60 then. I think.
That almost did the trick. It doesn't look for custom stages anymore, but it instead replaced the removed stages with portraits for 3 random existing Brawl stages, which load 3 other random Brawl stages. Two of them are horrible stages though atleast, so I know friends will immediately quit out of it, instead of playing on a gigantic, non-edited SSE stage that they think is a good stage (until discovering that the boundaries are mega huge).

Bummer. I'm not sure how that happened...

Though you know, you could just make the extra 3 load some of the other 6 that you like. There'd be three redundant buttons, but at least it works. And leaves space for if you find others that are good.

Is it true that I can use PW's code to load stages that weren't based on the online training stage as long as I have the correct .rel for them? I read this in another topic but I wasn't sure if it worked (also I don't remember where I saw it so I can't double check).

Yeah, its true. It's how I use Realm of Falcon/Falcon Destination.

And use version 1.1 by the way.

I've been using the example codes that PW provided (the one with 9 extra stages instead of just one), and I have some questions.

1. I noticed that the extra stages alternate between Final Destination and Battlefield icons, does this mean that those stages are replacing FD and BF, or is that just always going to happen?

2. If I have a stage like the Realm of Falcon, and I want that to be on the Melee screen, would I have to replace one of the FD icons, or could it be a BF icon?

3. Does the module decide what music that plays? I noticed that all these extra stages play Battlefield songs, even the FD-icon stages.

4. Would I be able to replace one of these stages with an Online Waiting Room stage?
1- Changing some fields in the code you can choose the icons for these extra stages, you only have to read well pw's explanation and you'll know what to change

2- You can have any stage icon for it as you can change them

3- I don't know a thing about modules so I can't help you, it can be because modules and it can be because pw's code itself ^^U

4- All 9 stages are replaceable with online waiting room with default modules, you only have to extract STGONLINETRAINING.pac from your game and rename it to STGCUSTOMX.pac

Yeah, its true. It's how I use Realm of Falcon/Falcon Destination.

And use version 1.1 by the way.
Where can we get the rel files, are they part of the stage pacs? Do they do anything with the music played in the stage?

Could someone please help me with getting this to work correctly?

I recently tried to do this and it did not work for me. I entered the vaules for

46000010 00000000
44000000 005A7D00
6620LLLL 00000000

44000000 005A7D00
66200006 00000000
4F4E4C49 04A00000

, put the files in private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\stage\melee, and I wanted it so it could load multiple textures for the stage by adding: _A _B _C etc., added the Alternate Stage Loader v1.1 along with: Rumble Falls is Wifi Waiting Room, SD Files, SD Loader and File Replacement 1.1 and it didn't load any of the files for that stage.

And where does 065A7D00 00000008 go/come from? I understand from that: 0008 = 1 line 0016 = 2 lines and 0032 = 3 lines, but that's all I know about that.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. I've been wanting to do this for the longest time now and I've finally started to figure some of it out by myself.

Keep working on it and READ CAREFULLY.

You need:

Rumble Falls is Wi-Fi Training Room
Alternate Stage Loader v1.1
Alternate Stage Loader Data v1.1
File Patch Code v3.5.1 (not v1.1)

in your .gct.

The instructions are really quite simple, so stick with it and you'll get results.

Code:
AT THE BEGINNING ONCE:
46000010 00000000
44000000 005A7D00
6620LLLL 00000000
-----------------------------------
LLLL = The number of lines of stage data, +1. If you have 9 lines of stage data, input 10, which is A in hex, so "000A"
------------------------------------
What do I put in the LLLL section? I have one line of code saying I want to replace the WiFi Training Room, and I have 4 lines of code for the four SSE stages I'm using to replace it. So would it be 0005?

Also, does anyone know how I can make a stage only accessible through button combinations? Thanks!

Look at that last line of code:

4F4E4C49 04A00000

I think that's a typo, because that code means there's 160 random stages being picked, meaning it will almost always choose the original stage. That, and I think you can only have up to 26 (1A in hex) stages there, meaning the whole code probably wouldn't work. Long story short, there's a typo in your code.

I'm going to try again since I had a line wrong. Thank you, however.

You're right, I think A is supposed to be the 4th digit not the 3rd.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Edit: I had 0A in the text file already. and I remember trying File Patch v3.5.1 before it was mentioned and it still didn't work for me.

Your LLLL section would be 0006. As its four lines of code for each of your button activated stages, and the line of code for the stage itself. Not sure what you mean by having a stage be only selectable via button combos.

If you mean you don't want any random selection within them, you only have to put "0" in the random section (XXXXXXXX 0400)

Ah, I am working on this stage:

It's inspired in this post in stacksmash, but mine is no more a stage builder stage

This is a wifi waiting room replacement, and I'll change the textures of each building so it will become a real way to play something similar to fourside in brawl ^^

Is it possible to replace custom stages with sse stages, etc.?

For example, your first custom stage would load as an sse stage, and your second would load as the results screen, and so on.

I haven't tried with Flatzone, but my summit works weird too. Random pacs don't load, and if I force the loading it goes BEEEP lol
Can you get it to load at all with the code on? I find that if I don't include a line of code for each stage I'm planning to play that the stage crashes on load. Even if I can't load random textures for those 2 stages, I'd atleast like to stop them from crashing XD.

I am so confused Q_Q. I the tutorial in the original post, but I still basically have no idea what I'm doing. Can I just get a couple of examples done for me?

Let's say that I have 3 FD replacements. What would the code I put in the DATA section look like if I wanted to have all 3 be button activated AND have the original FD be button activated as well? Let's just say I use the four directions on the D pad for my button replacements. For this scenerio, all 4 possibilities will be on random as well.

Second scenario. Same button activators, but I want the original FD to be the only stage that appears randomly. What would change from the code above?

Third scenerio. Same button activators. I want a specific 2 of my 3 stages to appear on random (let's say, STGFINAL_A and STGFINAL_C only).

I hope I'm not causing too much trouble asking this, but I've been out of the loop for a LONG time. I'd really appreciate if someone did these examples for me.

a)
46494e41 04040000
00010000 00000000
00020001 00000000
00040002 00000000
00080003 00000000
Your replacements should be named STGFINAL_A , _B, and _C. Or _B _C _D, or any combination of these. Note that there is 4 replacements. When trying to charge the fourth one, the game will fail and load the default FD. Or it should.

b)
46494e41 04000000
00010000 00000000
00020001 00000000
00040002 00000000
00080003 00000000
No stages on random= FD default's. If that doesn't work...

46494e41 04010000
00010000 00000000
00020001 00000000
00040002 00000000
00080003 00000000
With this, your replacements must be named STGFINAL_B, _C and _D. NO _A, which makes the game charge original FD.

c)
46494e41 04020000
00010000 00000000
00020001 00000000
00040002 00000000
00080003 00000000
The random stages must be named STGFINAL_A and _B. No original FD in random here.

Haven't tried any of these (I just put everything on random lol) but they should work as long as the rest of the code is correct.

Yes, I can load original summit perfectly (and I guess my error was because a corrupted pac). Maybe you got the mistake in the number of data lines. Make sure to count them between the lines:

6620LLLL 00000000 (not inclosed)

and

00000DED FADEDEAD (not inclosed)

+1 in hex. Check it out, first time I did the mistake because the code itself is named Data and I counted all the lines...

I had the right number of lines, but I was missing the 00000DED FADEDEAD line (must've accidently erased it or something ^_^') Anyway, I'll load it up when I get the chance and see if it fixes things up.
EDIT: Yep it works fine now. Tyvm ^^

Not sure why that wouldn't work. You're using FPC 3.5.1, right? And you've renamed your stages to include the _A, etc?
